Waldo's Weekly - Easter Extravaganza Event 2021

Hey Wyrdos,

This week, we’re taking a closer look at what will be available during our annual Easter Extravaganza Event, which starts on April 1st and ends on the 9th.

Like with every Easter Event, our limited and alt models will be listed on the webstore. We’ve got almost everything still in stock, but there will be a few things that have sold out (Rotten Harvest Pandora). If you’re looking for the Rotten Harvest Candy and Kade, though, you’ll be able to find them during the Event.

For a comprehensive list of everything that will be available, you’ll just have to visit our webstore when the Event begins!

But what’s brand new this year, you ask? Well, it looks like the Easter Bunny is a bit of a thrill-seeker.

Bayou players will be able to give their Pigapults some time to rest by instead playing the Eggapult, a slingshotting stuntman of a rabbit who just can’t get enough adrenaline, no matter how many times he chucks himself across the table.

But he’s not the only risk-taker that’s hitting the battlefield this year. After all, is "falling gracefully" any fun if you do it alone? Of course not. The Eggapult is bringing along a friend for a little bit of airtime.

An Eggapult wouldn’t be complete without a daring (or insane) egg to go along for the ride! The Daredeviled Egg is an alt Stuffed Piglet that Bayou players can chuck at their enemies (figuratively, of course).

You’ll be able to pick up this audacious pair for $35.00 or you can get them both for free if you spend $100 (before tax and shipping).  These hardboiled alt models are cast in metal and are only available during the Easter Extravaganza Event, so make sure to visit the webstore on April 1st!

But they aren’t the only toys (er, minis) leaving the toybox (er, warehouse) this year.

If you spend $200 (before tax and shipping), you will also get an extremely rare sprue of “larger than life” Puppets. These Puppet miniatures are bigger than the miniatures in Puppet Wars (but are still compatible with the beloved board game), and have never before been released to the public.

Check the image below to see how big they are!

(It’s not like we’re known to accidentally oversize a mini or two from time to time.)

This sprue includes these 8 classic Malifaux characters:

  • Bete Noire
  •  1 Viktoria (sorry, sister!)
  • Misaki
  • Hooded Rider
  • Rusty Alyce
  • Lady Justice
  • Seamus
  • The Judge (male)

(Don't mind the office dog hair!)

We’ll also be including Third Edition cards for these Puppet characters, so make sure to get this very limited sprue while you can! Once they’re gone, they are gone forever!

Lastly, every purchase during the Easter Extravaganza Event wouldn’t be complete without a Puppet Coloring book! These coloring books will be included with every purchase that is $25 (before tax and shipping) or more.

That’s all from us, yolks! We’ll see you during the Event!

And just in case you forgot: the Easter Extravaganza Event begins April 1st and ends April 9th.

(Hey, what’s with all this puppet stuff, anyway?)

Are these going to be randomly chosen, or do we get to pick what we want on the webstore?

If you spend $400 do you get 2 puppet sprues (& 4 pigapults) or do you only get 1 Puppets sprue?

If the latter, that kind of sucks since we want to do a big group order from Australia to save on shipping, but multiple people want the puppets... :(

Pretty cool!

So it seems the Easter Alt models are always Bayou. Is that the deal with Easter or just coincidence?

There's also the Easter Viks, so not *all* of them

There's definitely a lot of Easter Bayou models.... I'm hoping there's a 9th master for Bayou as the 'king rabbit'... cause clearly there's somewhere in they bayou ran by rabbits at this pt....

We can set it up so that you get additional puppet sprues - so $300, $400, etc. you will get additional puppets. If you're interested in additional Eggapults and Eggs, they'll be available for purchase as well beyond the free ones at $100.

Thanks!

Any clue what time Event will start on 1st?

They typically don't publish the time because they don't want everyone hitting the site at the same time. (Although the webstore has been through several upgrades over the years and might be able to handle the traffic now).

Its worth remembering that Wyrd is in North America which is behind most of the rest of the world, so its possible that you will be on the 2nd of April before they open it, especially if you live somewhere like Australia. (Its not a sure thing, but its most likely to open up during their business day).

You also get a little clue cause they usually close down the webshop beforehand so that'll give you a ballpark idea (tho it's usually closed for hours so not that close).

I'll assume it'll go live sometime business hours for eastern usa, rather than midnight/etc cause the last few sales have had minor hiccups and (if it were me) I'd far prefer to troubleshoot that stuff while I / my tech team is at work...
