Nellie Headline: Secrets Exposed!

In our playgroup we have this discussion. So we have this hypothetical situation (see the image).

So, in this situation, Nellie casts "One more question!" on the minion, and declares the Headline: Secrets Exposed! trigger, so the Abomination is forced to take an Interact action. One of us says that the minion can declare 1) Drop a Scheme marker into base contact with this model and not within 4'' of another friendly Scheme Marker, but that he drops no Scheme Markers because there's another one near. Other of us says that the minion is obliged to declare 2) remove all Scheme Markers in base contact with this model, so the Scheme Marker is removed. Who's right and why?

You're assuming that "Do one of the following: 1) ____ 2) ____ or 3) _____" isn't subject to the "This or that" rules.  😕

That's the rule which says that you can't choose the option that you can't perform.

The Abom can't resolve the first option or third option, so it has to do the 2nd option.
