Popular Post MattM
Wyrdos, This week, Waldo, that clever boy, was out rummaging in his giant archaeological pit in the back of the office. It got very quiet (never a good sign when Waldo’s around) and then our cups of water started to ripple. There was an ear-splitting roar, and lo and behold, Waldo stomped into view riding atop a… well, take a look for yourself: It seems like life, uh, always finds a way. Thanks to Titania’s magic, the Malisaurus Rex once again walks the Wildlands! Curious to see just how big this royalty-among-lizards will be? Take a look at the sculpt*: With the Fae and Apex keywords, the Malisaurus Rex can be included in Titania’s force as well as Lord Cooper’s. The other Explorers can borrow Cooper’s pet**, of course, but need to pay a little extra. Want to venture further into the Wildlands? Want to raise a pet Malisaurus for yourself***? Then check out Jurassic Faux, a Through the Breach One-Shot that specifically focuses on the new growth between the Knotwoods and Nythera! You can grab it here for just $5 on DriveThruRPG! That’s all for this week Wyrdos. While we try and help Waldo get his new reptilian vehicle under control, come on over to the forums and tell us what you think of this dino-riffic addition to the Explorer’s Society! How are you going to paint yours? *Hog Whisperer not included. **Just how did Cooper manage to get one? I guess we’ll just need to wait and see… ***We cannot recommend doing this. Malisaurus are very bitey. Ask your Fatemaster before attempting to ride one into battle.
muraki
Hilarious, love it. Glad someone else other than TT has to deal with models that are bigger than the base
Jesy Blue
I'm gonna need like a box of washers to hold that base down.
solkan
Oh, good heavens. 🤨 The overhang on that model... Is it too early to pester Customeeple or whoever for nice decorative base to use while the Rex model sits on the table side? 👻
Nagi21
Wyrd... seriously, with all due respect: How the hell am I supposed to use that in a 3'x3' 50% terrain board skirmish game? Honestly please explain. 1
Black_Lotus
Love the model and concept. But for engagement purposes and storage/transport seems a bit excessive
Da Git
I don't mind the size and reckon the model looks awesome... just don't see the point of not upping the base size if the model's going to be that huge anyway. The current 50mm base looks ridiculous IMO and kind of pointless when models won't actually be able to get in base contact (or even within 1") from some angles... Then terrain/other models will inhibit pivoting...
clockworkspide
This is gonna be the Avatar Shenlong fight all over again, isn't it?
katadder
That needs to be on a 120mm base or downsized toa malisaurus raptor or something. Its just too big for this skirmish game 1
Da Git
I wonder if oval bases would work...
Chou
I really love the model, can't wait to get it!

Glad someone else other than TT has to deal with models that are bigger than the base Can we talk about Som'er totems on V2 box? ^^ I put them verticaly (on a wall...). I won't be able to do the same thing with this. XD I like the model but I think we'll have some... practical troubles (difficulties? problems? sorry, I don't know the better term with my poor english), like melee with some models or simply transport it. ^^
Math Mathonwy
I really hope that Rex has a 0" melee reach... But I have to agree that it looks like it will be difficult to game with. The Shadow Emissary already results in problems quite often - at least with the amount of terrain on our tables.
Black_Lotus
In would agree that either the pose needs to be changed or the bases sized increased

The forearms are reach 0” for sure 😝
touchdown
the sculpt looks really cool but I have to agree with everyone else that it seems really hard to actually play with given how far it overhangs. If it's not too late, could the t-rex stand up a bit more? Height is nearly unlimited, but overhang is a problem.
the tick
Model looks great! But maybe put that bad boy on at least an 80 mm base?
Ultravanillasmurf
Ambivalent about the concept. Cool model, on a larger base it would suit a Fae "The Other Side" CASE NIGHTMARE RED army. As mentioned above by @Nagi21, it is going to loom over a 3 X 3 board. You could have some fun in a built up area, that rapidly got demolished. Very cinematic.
