Stitched tactical action

Hi all, just a quick one, my buddy and I weren't sure on this but can a Thunder model use chi to influence his flip score when gambling for life against a stitched? 

We decided no in the end but weren't sure...and in that same vein, can a model use focus on the flip?

CHi says it can be used on a duel.

Gamble your life is not a duel.

Focus also only works for opposed duels

Gamble your life is a bit unconventional.

Chi affect duels, but as it's a tactical action it isn't an opposed duel; chi cannot be used there (the only one flipping to see if the ability go off is the stitched). After that both players flips a card, that's an effect that looks like an opposed duel, but it isn't so again chi cannot be used there. Then one of the two models will get damaged by that action; that is a damage flip so it's affected by Hard to wound and damage reduction can be used (SS to reduce damage for example). And then Focused, it's not an opposed duel, so no Focused or accuracy mods.
