Popular Post Caedrus
Caedrus, reporting in with a WIP Update! I've been chipping away at my Shelf of Shame for some time, and these miniatures are all under the categories of "If I can just get these done, that keyword is completely painted", OR "Just finish the damn miniature, will you?" First up, a proxy miniature, The Dispatcher! For those who haven't seen my painting before, my Malifaux tends to be less Old-West, more Victorian-Steampunk-Lovecraftian. Expect lots of brass and brown! My NMM Brass isn't the best, but I'm slowly learning. I also tend to plan just as much as I paint, so the keywords (and often the faction), will often have a unifying colour and/or base. My Guild all tend to have a lot of red. I also tend to go for fairly highly saturated painting styles. Anyway, I liked this Wild West Exodus Dispatcher-Proxy. He seemed to fit the bill perfectly, at least until the proper one is more readily available! Next up, some Silent Ones! With only the Blessed of December to go, these had been sitting there for ages. I wasn't originally a fan of the sculpt (nor the appearance of her left leg, which appears to have a tibial plateau fracture). However, the more I painted, the more I enjoyed these figures. Finally, a miniature that I'm quite proud of: Envy! This was an eBay rescue, stripped and rebased, and (once again) given the Caedrus-NMM-Brass treatment! This miniature was a big time investment. So many layers of yellows and browns. I'm slowly getting there with the NMM. I was pleased with the trompe-l'oiel wood, and moderately pleased with the heat bloom on the gatling guns. I'm thinking of adding some flying pieces of sheet music, and perhaps some shell casings. What do you think? As always, folks, your critique and feedback is so very welcome! I hope your 2020 is starting fantastically, and I look forward to seeing all your works! Caedrus.
Popular Post Hellomurse
Here's a Dreadnought; base coat is with 30 year old paint with contrast paints for everything else so it fits in with the rest of my Abyssinia troops. I liked how the blue wasn't saturated, so it looks like flowing energy, etc. (25ss)

Scatterbrain
@Viruk Without a doubt, the best-painted translucent Malifaux crew I have ever seen. You are the only artist I know who could have accomplished this! I hope I get to see some green translucent Kirai or Pandora crew boxes in the future, too! 1 1

Popular Post muraki
Going a bit slow this month after all the December Xmas stuff. But I did get a Seamus avatar done for 10. I am pretty impressed with the base (not that it's the visible), first time trying to airbrush ooze. Now to figure what I can start/finish in a week for 6 more pts haha.

Popular Post Harlekin
Hello everybody and thanks to all of you for sharing your inspirational pieces of art. After entering Malifaux about half a year ago I finally started playing (kinda) regularly and this feel some pressure to finally paint more. I have to confess that I am a rather slow and lazy painter but nevertheless decided to enter the 2020 competition to get some stuff done - sharing the hobby stuff with fellow minds always help a lot to keep the spirits up. I am aiming for Henchman level for the competition. 11 Soulstone should be possible, especially with 2 mulligans and buy-backs. Let's get this done! So, here are my contributions for January: This is: 2 Crooligans for 4 SoSt each - 8 2 Night Terrors for 5 SoSt each - 10 18 Stone in January - I call that a good start. And here is my Molly Crew so far: I am still unsure about where to go with the bases but already have a few ideas.

If someone has a good trick to apply yellow I'll be interested to know it About the yellow, here are a few tipps: 1. Apply a layer of brown, before the yellow. If you want your yellow to be as bright as possible: first grey, then white, then yellow. 2. Thin the paint and apply layer after layer, until you like the result (seriously, that should always be done with all colors)
Popular Post Stranglelove
Hope everyone had a good January! Mine was quite productive. Here are 9 Twisted Horrors and Abuela Ortega. As a sculpt, Abuela was a real pain in the butt. She was certainly no Coco Love the awesome and inspiring paint jobs I've seen so far from everyone. Keep it up!
lusciousmccabe
@Harlekin - Great work on the Lost. Really gritty and thematic feel to them. @Stranglelove - Horrific. Good job. @Wintergloom - Nice colour theming on the Nightmares. Really nice scheme and does a great job of tying the models together without looking like they're in uniform. Also, custom web markers FTW. @Pastori - Love those bases on the Investigators. 1

Hellomurse
Got my Rail Gunners done. I did the battery and gun in the same metal as the Dreadnought, the rest is contrast. (20ss) That is probably all I'll get done this month. That comes to 17+90+15+45+25+10+20=222ss for January . Next up are the Cavalry; I attempted to straighten their weapons 4 times with hot/cold water before giving up. They will be painted, but I'm not going to spend more time fixing what can't be fixed.
