Crockett - Hounds mean loop

I was looking some Guild crews, and I found an interesting loophole (anything broken, just interesting) with a Frontier crew hiring Paul Crockett and some Guild Hound.

Crockett shoots an enemy model engaged with a Guild Hound.

If he triggers the Coordinated attack, good, but if not, the Hound can discard a card and make an attack that can declare triggers, like Hold Down to make Paul Crockett shoot again a repeat the loop.

It could be made as many extra attacks as cards you have to discard and crows you flip for the Hound.

It's not overpowered, but funny though you could do like 4-5 extra attacks with one action (and Paul's shoots are no joke)

Attacks generated by a trigger cannot declare triggers (it’s in the breakout box on page 12 of the rulebook), so you’re only getting the first extra attack, alas!

Mitigating factors include:

1.  Paul Crocket is a Frontier Arcanist model.

2.  Guild Hounds are Guard Guild models.

so the only crew they're both going to appear in a Basse crew.

Want to take bets on whether Scent of Blood gets the words 'cannot declare triggers' added between the words 'Action' and 'targeting'?

EDIT: the trick can also be done in Explorer's Society... With Luna.

How does it happen with Luna?  Luna has hunting partner to make shooting into melee easier, but there's no second half of the loop on the card.

If you really want to worry about combos, Jonathan Reichart has the Hold It trigger on Bring It (and can spend a soul stone for the suit) so you can get the whole party started outside of Crocket's activation if you want.  And since Reichart has 2" melee range, against a lot of targets you may be able to arrange to be standing safely where Reichart will engage the model but won't get hit by Bring It's goaded attack.

It'll be:

  • Reichart uses Bring It to move target into position.
    • Hold Down grants Crocket the ranged attack (ignoring Friendly Fire due to Hold Down), which has to do damage
      • Guild Hound discards a card to attack, and gets Hold Down trigger
        • Crocket shoots again at the target (ignoring Friendly Fire due to Hold Down)
          • Guild Hound discards a card to attack and gets Hold Down trigger
            • Crocket shoots again (still ignoring friendly fire due to Hold Down)
              • ...
  • Reichart takes his second action.

Crocket can't use Coordinated Attack in that version because all of his attacks are generated by triggers.

At that point, you might as well start building the list as:

  • Da Basses (Cornie and Bernie)
  • Reichart
  • Paul Crocket
  • Dashel Barker (to summon more doggies)
  • Doggies (optional starters)
  • Guild Lawyer (because Obeys make everything better)

The loop cannot be done, only pointing that Luna is a Beast (and Lucas could be giving upgrades to Frontier minions)

You must discard a card for the :melee and it goes with a :-flipdamage in a 1/2/3 attack so you are spending a card for a 1 damage attack most of the times.

I see a good option only if you have :crowon your hand to shoot again with croocket carabine. So it's very circumstantial.
