You get a free totem if a master, or a free effigy of the faction of your leader if a henchmen. 3. You can hire anything that shares a keyword with your leader, even if it does not share a faction. 4. You can hire anything that shares a faction with your leader, but it may cost more. If it is not versatile and doesn't share a keyword, it costs one extra soulstone to hire. 5. They're no longer in the "I'm doing this to win a bet" category that they were for M2E. But it's not necessarily easy to play a crew with non-damaging attack actions, and lots of dependence on auras.
