Concealment and friendly targets

Have been really enjoying using a guardian with the diesel engine upgrade, plus flips for damage, mobility boost, concealment aura, win. However, we realised I've been playing it wrong and forgetting to add a negative to the flip when targeting friendlies withing the aura. This can be mitigated by using power tokens but still disappointing. 

 

My question is this... What if you're targeting yourself and you have concealment? Looking at the rules for concealment it seems like you have trouble finding yourself when you are concealed....

Concealment gives [-] only to attack actions. A model can not target itself with an attack action. So there is nothing to worry about.

For concealment to apply you need to draw a line of sight that passes through something with the concealing trait and have no line drawn less than 1" (as your're within the concealing area) .  So when targeting yourself that wont apply surely?

It's a damn thick cloud of diesel exhausts! It would seem like you can't see your own nose through it.

There are effects which just give models Concealment. Concealing terrain is just the most common way of gaining Concealment.
