Assuming the units are locked in, personally I always have Fenton take Arcane Tome (to help mill the deck) and Adeodatos always takes A Memory Stirs, especially in 2 Commander games when you'll have more TT's to draw cards.  Against Abyssinia one of them should take Unnatural Growth to mess with their card draw.  Goryshche should always take Fast Regeneration IMO if you can afford it (it's okay if it's only on 1-2 assets since you can grow more Snapping Heads later), then I'd take Toughness on Binh and whichever Commander didn't get the Growth, and last scrip give Binh Icon of Ancient Power (since it's the only other asset he can take currently).  So my version of that list'd be:

  • Fenton +25
    • Arcane Tome 1
    • Unnatural Growth 1
  • Adeodatos +25
    • A Memory Stirs 1
    • Toughness 1
  • The Warped 9
    • Raving Madman 1
  • The Warped 9
    • Raving Madman 1
  • Doomseekers 7
    • Raving Madman 1
  • Bihn Nguyen 3
    • Toughness 0
    • Icon of Ancient Power 1
  • Stalking Portals 3
  • Stalking Portals 3
  • Goryshche 7
    • Fast Regeneration 1
  • Thanks 1

From an abyssinian players perspective:

- ECB are brutal against us, because of prototype assets. Just something to consider.

- Goryshche with just Fast Regeneration is risky. If I get to activate before it, and can get a shot of with a flare gun, you risk losing that asset before it ever does something. If I get to shoot with something more powerful, like a walker, you risk losing your goryshche.

Assuming models are fixed how would you upgrade differently? Would you drop a model for more upgrades?

The easiest would be to drop one of the madmen. If that, I would probably drop the one with the Doomseekers? They would need him the least, I would assume, as they don't want to be that near to the enemy. Also, if I remember correctly, the Warped want to be in glory before them, so they need the protection more.

Otherwise, I would think about maybe dropping a set of Stalking Portals. I am not quite sure what you would want to do with the last scrip, and yes, the mobility of a second squad of those is nice, but they have low def, so they may help Abyssinia as much as they help you, getting their units to glory via margins. And they die even to flare guns. But then, that may be the idea behind having two of them, to have redundancy? Not sure here.

I could use a 2 point upgrade at that point right? is there any that are worthwhile?

As @MuMantai mentioned, against Aby you might consider dropping the second Stalking Portals unit. In my local group the Cult players worry (rightly so) about giving us an easy target to do things to. Not just on margins, but on a wider range of Tomes on our Prototypes (Flare Guns especially) that are likely to succeed.

I guess that would enable 2 more upgrades on the titan and perhaps a 2 script upgrade over a 1 script upgrade on one of the commanders...

Its kinda tricky is all I am pointing out....

With your Titan's Df 3 and Ar 6, no. Fast Regen is nice, but it's even better when you're doing the flip on Snapping Heads. That way if it doesn't work, you didn't lose anything important (and can get back during the course of the game).

Basically if you're up against Aby, we're either getting enough of a margin to bump our shots' Strength up (AV 5-6+ vs Df 3; if you are cheating, it's to avoid Margin triggers) or getting a suit trigger of some kind. Either case is potentially bad news for her if she doesn't have additional Assets.

So granted your quick feedback if you dropped the 2nd portal wurms what upgrades would you diviy out?

You have 44 Scrip in models listed, leaving you with 6 for upgrades between 2 Commanders, a Champion, and a Titan. So if you drop one unit of Portals it leaves you 9 Scrip for 9 total Upgrade/Asset slots. Retnab has a good start from what I've seen.

I'd put at least one Snapping Head on Gory, generally two. If you don't go with two of them, the tail upgrade that lets you move after using a Portal to place will guarantee that she can get into the thick of things, and once it finally is broken you can replace it with a Snapping Head.
Uncanny Instincts is another good one to bring, which would spend all 3 of those Scrip handily if you're replacing a 1 Scrip Asset..
