Long Forgotten Magics and Public Executions

When Karina uses Long Forgotten Magics, who is considered to have sacrificed the model? The original killer or Karina?

I'm asking because in Public Executions the scoring condition states that it happens whenever a non-Peon model kills or sacrifices a non-Peon model it considers an enemy, and a player wants to know if you could use Long Forgotten Magics when a friendly model is going to die to deny the point to the rival.

Pretty sure she could use it both to deny and to score for you if the model died to a condition or something. Carina is sacrificing the model as far as I can understand. "...this model may discard a card to sacrifice the model instead."
