Worcester Shindig - Sunday 1st July 2018

Recommended Posts

Worcester War Game’s inaugural Malifaux tournament will take place on 1st July 2018. We aim to appeal to players of all capabilities and experience. Each round will last 2½ hours, and both strategies and scheme pools are available beforehand (see below). We’re planning initially for a maximum of 16 participants but will review this as necessary and endeavour to accommodate as many as possible.

The Rulespack can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/83tvbctluo68t63/Rules Pack - Worcester Shindig 2018.pdf?dl=0

To enter, send £15 by paypal to brass.monkey.malifaux@gmail.com as a personal payment (include your name, forum name and proposed faction) or pay me in cash beforehand. Before the event itself, please register at www.bag-o-tools.com. Results will be submitted to Malifaux Rankings (please advise if you wish to be anonymous).

You might also want to visit (or even join) the facebook group of the “Worcester War Games Malifaux Players” at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1871473253165616.

Have fun. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,

I'm in for definite. Hopefully will pay you in person as I plan on getting to the shop sooner rather than later. I really hope this event is supported as I'd love the scene to take of in Worcester

Please note there is now no painting requirement for this event.

Painted models are still encouraged and there will be an optional painting competition, but players are free to bring along whatever models they have built and based.

The rulespack has been amended accordingly.

We're nearly all ready to go for Sunday's Worcester Shindig event. It looks like we have eight players which will make it a small (but not insubstantial) affair. If there are any later entrants please let me know asap.

The rulespack can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/83tvbctluo68t63/Rules Pack - Worcester Shindig 2018.pdf?dl=0 though I'll have some hard copies on the day so it's not necessary to print these out. Please note I've revised the rulespack slightly again. As well as dropping the painting requirement, I've also dropped the requirement to pre-register at bag-o-tools.com. Given that size of the event and the lack of internet at the venue I'm going to manage the scoring and ranking 'Old Skool'.

I've only received payment from four of the players. If you haven't paid, please do so beforehand (£15 by paypal to brass.monkey.malifaux@gmail.com) or pay in cash at the event.

The list of confirmed entrants is:

  1. Rik Philips (Rikk)

  2. Steve aka Oso Oco

  3. Oz Goff

  4. Craig Colley (Reservoir Dog)

  5. Shaun Mitchell

  6. Phil Parker

  7. Karl McConnell

  8. Declan Larcombe

If anybody has any special needs, or if you have any questions, please let me know beforehand.

Thank you,

Mat Richardson-Jack

A big thank you to those that attended the Worcester Shindig. Also thanks to Andy from the store, David Brown (Clousseau) for his advice and support, Oz for trying to drum up some extra interest, and my lad Elliott who helped me run the day.

The results were: 1st place to Craig Colley (Neverborn), 2nd place to Oz Goff (Ten Thunders), 3rd place to Shaun Mitchell (Neverborn), 4th place to Rik Philips (Gremlins), 5th place to Steve C. (Resurrectionists) and Wooden Spoon to Michael Fox (Outcasts). Best Painted went to Craig Colley.

The main prizes were distributed by random card draw (with a :+flip:+flipfor Craig (as winner of both the tournament and the painting competition)). They were: Archie, Miss Terious (Alt Death Marshal), Alt Gator, Emeline Bellerose, Miss Ery (alt Teddy) and a goody bag containing a bottle of Brewmaster's moonshine, a Lucky Emissary foil card and an extra guilder. Lunch included Mah's genuine Bayou Gumbo. There were also certificates (for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and best painted) and a wooden spoon decorated by Marsha Parkins.

Hope everyone had fun - looking to do another event in the autumn (October?).
