Hello,

Brighton Malifaux Group will be hosting a 50ss tournament, using the "Gaining Grounds 2018" tournament system.

Tickets will cost £10, this will cover both the use of the space and additional prize support.

Main prize: A Malifaux Playmat with set up/middle lines, additional prizes will be in the form of store credit, and will depend on participation.

Location: Dice Saloon, Brighton. Currently First Floor, Vantage Point, New England Road BN1 4GW, Brighton. However, they are planning to move soon, so it might change (will still be located in Brighton)

Registration from 10.30

Round 1 Start 11:00
Break for lunch after round 1

Lists to be formed with a 'Fixed' Master.
Round length will be 2 hours
Using the Gaining Grounds 2018 rulespack at 50ss.

Number of rounds depends on players, but will most likely be 3.

3 rounds will definitely happen. As for players - we'll see, waiting for the store to clarify the number, but it should have plenty of space. If you buy tickets early - you'll definitely have a spot :)

Cool I will do my best, though I have noticed there are major engineering works on the Brighton line that weekend, which could be problematic.

May see if I can make this event. I have friends that live just outside of Brighton so could be doable.

Are there any conformed attendees?

Go if you can and meet some of the cool players who attended Bonescon including Ugnius, Migle and Gordy.

I'd be there if I wasn't running Haul of Eggs 6!

  • 2 weeks later...

Three days ago, there were 9 attendees signed up. I don't have the names yet, and I'm not sure if I'm gonna post them by then. There are more tickets bought by now.

Not sure if I'm going to make the attendee list public.
Anyways, the facebook event got updated with the Strats and Schemes to be used. Which I'm reposting here for convenience:

Round 1
Standard Deployment
Public Executions
Headhunter
Hold Up Their Forces
Undercover Entourage
Search the Ruins
Public Demonstration

Round 2
Corner Deployment
Ours

Guard the Stash
Search the Ruins
Public Demonstration
Show Of Force
Take One For The Team

Round 3
Flank Deployment
Ply for Information

Extraction
Vendetta
Recover Evidence
Inescapable Trap
Set Up

I assume that headhunter, guard the stash and extraction are errors?

Yes but there are 2 strategies listed under each game so I would assume that the first listed and newest released ones will be the ones used as you cannot have 2 strategies in each game.

I have messed up slightly, in that instead of writting down the paired scheme, I wrote down the extended strategy. In any case, the first strat is correct, the second strat should be replaced with the scheme which is tied to the strat. Facebook has the updated list.
