Emberlost
If a totem has the rare characteristic, can I start with more than one of them on the board? Or am I limited to just one of them to start? The specific example I'm thinking of is Hamelin's The Stolen, which have Rare 3.
1 solkan
The Totem rules include this statement: Quote A Crew may only hire one model with the Totem characteristic. The other totems with Rare characteristics (like Collodi's Marionettes) have rules like this (in addition to having a Rare 4 characteristic: Quote Collodi's Toys: This Crew may hire up to four of this Totem. If this model is summoned, sacrifice all friendly non-Marionette Totem So for a Totem, in the absence of a special ability on the card allowing you to hire more than one of the Totem, the Rare characteristic applies to how many you can have summoned. Because summoning is explicitly limited by Rare limits, and not mentioned in the Totem rule.
1 Hound Grey
Totems normally have a hieing restiction of onebut some will have a special rule that lets you take more such as Daydreams (Greedy) and Young Lacoix (Role model) Hollow Waif (Leveticus's Totem). If the model doesnt have a rule the normal restriction applies but the Rare value indicates the amount you can summon so for the stolen you can hire one but summon up to three on the field at any one time.
