Mike Wallace
This was a privilege to work on, and I was particularly touched by the "& Michael Wallace." I've joined a long line of prestigious "&" credit entertainers, like Samuel L. Jackson and Yaphet Koto!

OneLittleThunder
Love to have the PDF as always. Unfortunately, it looks like Broken Promises, unlike the previous M2E books, has the stat cards incorporated as images rather than as text, which means that the text of the stat cards isn't searchable in this book. I find the ability to search for terms like "Terrifying" or "Unimpeded" a really useful tool; was this a deliberate change in the way Wyrd is doing PDFs?
Lucidicide
It is a deliberate change, but not for that reason. Loading them into the files as PDFs (instead of images) actually creates a ton more visual complexity, which makes the files bigger and much less likely to work on all devices. Images are simple files that work much better in readers and whatnot. It didn't really occur to us that this would be a side-effect -- I didn't even know people did searches like that. My guess is that it's unlikely to change, but I'll mention it in-office.
retnab
Can confirm its how I use the Pdf books too. When I can remember what book a models in i'll just open them, search their name, and see which one gets any results
Lucidicide
The book is bookmarked nicely, though. Did it myself

It also means you can't cut and past rules questions into the forums.
solkan
I'll "me too" on the complaint about the cards as images. If I had known the cards were images in the new book, I do not think I would have purchased the PDF. The ability and action rules as text is a really important feature to me.
Greebo
Even if it is likely to be irrelevant in a hobby that is as visually based as tabletop my job/intense contact to blind people forces me to mention it - pictures are fare less accessible, especially for screenreaders. I was really happy to see that all the text in the pdfs was accessible and thus screenreader compatible. Just raising awareness
santaclaws01
Echoing the not liking that the cards are searchable for stuff. But as long as the model names still exist in text, and there aren't a lot of models per faction it's not a *huge* issue as far as the rules forum stuff goes. solkan
Around 4:00 today I received an e-mail: Product Malifaux - Broken Promises - 2E has been updated An updated version of this title is now available. It is the same as the old version, but the stat cards are now searchable and in text form instead of image form.

Stonewall78
I enjoyed the pictures being separate so I could easily make my own cards with custom images. I am guessing this is no longer easy to do?

le_wahou
Nice update guys. 64 MB instead of 59MB is not a big deal. I don't know if the size difference is small because you worked on it, but the result is really better : cards are easier to read on screen everything is searchable thumb up ! Lucidicide
We lowered the overall quality to keep the size similar, while also changing the cards so people could search them. 2

Gnomezilla
Holy wow. I can't believe that the entire PDF was changed, never mind how amazingly fast that was done!!! I buy the print books, don't have a real stake in this either way, but this deserves more than just a 'like' of thanks.
MrDeathTrout
I don't expect this to happen, since I'm sure you have quite enough work to do already, but... If you want to make the game more accessible for a variety of devices I know some people in my meta would love to see a 'naked' version of the books. Basically a PDF that looks just like the beta sheets that are posted, but with the models final stats. No pictures, no fluff, just the facts mam.
