Archie's proxy?

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to think about how to proxy Archie, especially focusing on november's UK Nationals and other local tournaments.

Something to suggest me?

I'm the worst painter/modelist/sculptor ever, so please nothing complex to do!

With that being an official proxy for Carrion Emissary I'd sure ask a TO beforehand if they'll allow it.

Show me a TO that has an issue with that, and I'll show you an unreasonable TO.

Given it's a legal proxy for a -different- model, I can see where allowing you to use it as a proxy for Archie may cause confusion.

That's the problem I would have as well. It's a damn shame, as Sim 29 is really, really ideal.

Glue some visible tentacles to Sim29 and make a dropped ice cream cone on his base from green stuff.

Barring Sim 29, you could always use the large Mindless Zombie by putting him on a 50mm base (I use him as an additional Flesh Construct for my McMourning crew). You could add in the above suggested green stuffed tentacles and ice cream as well just to have it stand out a bit more. Here's a pic of mine (Middle one) on a 40mm base next to the Flesh Constructs. Alternatively, if you don't want to buy an entire box of Mindless Zombies you could also do a conversion of KillJoy. He's an impressive enough model that, with just a bit of green stuff, would work nicely as well.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Sim29 as an official proxy for Archie in the next version of Gaining Grounds. In the meantime, make sure you check with your opponents and your TO.

I'm using this model, but painted w/ Vallejo's dead flesh color.  (Reaper Hill Giant)  Bit too tall, but whatever.

Converted this model  and added magnets to represent various upgrades. Just needs paint now!

Here is my Archie Proxie so far. Some green stuff work and plans to mould an ice cream onto the hand at the end of the tentacle and general gap filling. Might also add a skull into him body somewhere....
