Guy in Suit Posted June 12, 2016 Report Posted June 12, 2016 BKFaux Presents: GoProFaux! A 32-player 3 Round Malifaux Tournament & Fundraising Raffle in Brooklyn, New York - July 16th 2016. Why the bizarre name? And without a pun, no less? As the Malifaux community in the NYC tri-state area continues to grow, I would like to strike while the iron is hot and continue to build our community and provide a top-tier gaming experience. Live-streaming and video battle reports are amazing ways to spread the word and share Malifaux experiences via social media, and in concert with Nu Brand Gaming, we plan to give this power to the people - not to mention live-streaming the top tables at future BKFaux events! We plan to set up a full streaming/recording apparatus, with two-cameras, one top-down view of the table and second close up to show card flips. Generous donations of some equipment has already been made by club members, but we need significant additional funds to complete the set up. Therefor the focus of this event will be a large raffle - with 10 tickets given to you with your entry fee, additional tickets available for purchase, and a few extra tickets awarded for success in the tournament. We will be raffling off the full contents of a 32-player tournament kit, addition guilders, limited edition figures, and even a top-quality fully painted crew! But we'd also beseech players to reach into the back of their own closets, dust off figures they never plan to use, and donate them as well. Every penny raised will be immediately put right back into the community by investing in the streaming set up! As for the details on the event-itself: Email BrooklynMalifaux@gmail.com to reserve your spot(s). Tickets are $15 in advance through 7/9 - purchase by sending $15 per player to BrooklynMalifaux@gmail.com After 7/9, tickets will be $20 and can be purchased via PayPal to the address above or cash at the door. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased via cash or paypal on the day of - simply $1 per ticket. Schedule: 9:00am - doors open 9:30am - Sign up - Please arrive by 9:30am! Late players will take a loss round one, although all efforts will be made to get you in for later rounds. 10:00am-12:00pm - Round 1 1:30-3:30 - Round 2 4:00 - 6:00 Round 3 6:00 - 7:00 Raffle and wrap up. Strats and Schemes will be posted before the event. Please note that Proxies and unpainted models will be allowed for this event at your opponents discretion - if they can't clearly recognize what a model represents, you can't use it, but otherwise we want everyone to come out for this event and help raise funds! And if your models perform poorly during the event - feel free to add them to the raffle! Nu Brand Gaming is located at: 194 31st Street, Brooklyn, NY Easily accessible from the D / N / R 36th Street stop in Brooklyn. (Not the 36th street stop in Queens!) Facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/276424672711336/ Please note: 'Attending' the event on Facebook does not count as a sign up! Guy in Suit Posted July 2, 2016 Author Report Posted July 2, 2016 So a few locals who have a conflict the day of the event asked if they could enter the raffle anyway. We thought that it was a great idea to allow folks who can't attend to still support the fundraising effort, and figured might as well open it up to anyone! In order to keep it simple to track, you must tell me your ticket allocation in advance and can only enter raffles for items donated as of today. Simply send a paypal payment to BrooklynMalifaux@gmail.com with your ticket allocation and shipping address in the payment description. For example, you could send in $10 with the description: 6x Painted Crossroads Seven Crew 2x Large Mystery Box #2 1x Small Mystery Box #1 1x Miss Anne Thrope If you win, you'll get an email back with a shipping quote, simply paypal the balance, and we will get it out to you ASAP! Items available are: Painted Crossroads Seven Crew Large Mystery Box #1 Large Mystery Box #2 Small Mystery Box #1 Small Mystery Box #2 Small Mystery Box #3 Small Mystery Box #4 Miss Anne Thrope Desperate Mercenaries Box Miss Ery Hordes 2-Player Starter Set (MkII) Quote

Guy in Suit Posted July 2, 2016 Author Report Posted July 2, 2016 Arash, a local player here in Brooklyn. Not sure if he is active on the forums but comment on the Facebook post and he shall appear. Quote
Yvarre Posted July 3, 2016 Report Posted July 3, 2016 MMM, I really like the pastels on those crossroads 7! I'm going to try to get coverage for work that day and come down the night before. I've got about a 3 1/2 hour drive. I'm wondering if there might be somewhere to crash in BK? I may have a friend in the village I can crash with, but this 9:30 sharp or first round loss thing is a bit intimidating. Some of you may have met me at Bragging Rights representing Western Mass. with The 131. Quote
Guy in Suit Posted July 3, 2016 Author Report Posted July 3, 2016 If you can stay in the west village, that's an awesome option. It's only 4 stops from the West 4th Street subway station in the village to Nu Brand on the D express. You will still get to play your first game if you arrive late, I just record the score as a bye in the favor of the player that showed up on time, as it's not fair to them if they don't get full time for the round. The prizes are all via raffle anyway for this event, so it's a bit of a moot point regardless! Hope you will join us! Quote
