Seamus, Avatar of Dread

Recommended Posts

So I FINALLY found a the original Avatar of Dread model and looking at the new upgrade card, now Seamus can summon showgirls.

Angelica seems like a good choice, or the Oiran, but has anyone actually tried it and does adding showgirls to his list of options REALLY make a big difference?

You can't summon Angelica. Seamus can only summon non-totem minion Showgirls. Angelica is an enforcer. Ice Dancers are the most unique and best new summon option. Performers are also nasty, especially if you are using Shikome, Yin, or other Poison models in the crew. Once a model has poison they have to be very wary of you just dropping a performer in range and Then using Siren Song to push them into base to base and Paralyzing them, or doing the A sip of wine trigger to dump all the poison on them at once.

Ice Dancers are my most common summon with them though. Fast, difficult to kill with their butterfly jump, and a 0 action that can help them drop a scheme marker the turn they are summoned. Nothing not to like. They won't help him stay alive as they have no WP attacks, but otherwise very decent little summons, and they can help clog the board with annoying terrain if you summon them in and have a Carrion Emissary in the same crew.

If you can figure out how to manifest rapidly in a way you can accept, the +1 dmg is also nice. You don't have to feel beholden to the Focus shoot chain of actions every turn. If you have Sinister reputation that's 2 shots with Min dmg 3 and one with min dmg 4, totaling 10 min dmg if you hit all three times and the fear of that one big shot can help you get through the live for pain shots, especially if you bring envy or Sybelle with bleeding Tongue to give Seamus the Focus action without having to spend his own action.
