Usage of cards in a challenge

Can you use any number of weapon items to increase the challenge value (2-3 axes for example) and use multiple other weapon items (2-3 bows for example) to gain rerolls? And if wounds occur can you use a spear to prevent them?

Per the Weapon description on pg. 11, "If a Character possesses multiple weapons of different types (such as a Bow and a Spirit Axe), they must choose which weapon they wish to use to modify the Challenge."

You only ever get to use one Weapon on a Challenge. So if you use a Bow, you get a Reroll, but you can't use any of your Spears to prevent the damage (since you're using a Bow and now a Spear).
