Shirkattack
This last weekend I tried out an experimental henchmen list for a local fixed faction fixed henchmen tournament at 35ss. The strats/schemes were standard and you could only choose one henchmen in the list. I pieced together a Bad Juju Swampfiend only list with the goal to make a theme list competitive. Although I didn’t win the tournament, I didn’t lose a game and placed 5th out of 24. The build was really successful at schemey intensive pools but definitely suffered on the killy side of things. I thought I would share this list with the community. In the future I’d like to build upon this for a Lilith swampfiend crew. Any feedback will be well received. Below is the list: Bad Juju Eternal Fiend + 2 {Fears Given Form + 1} or {Hexed Among You +1} Silurid + 7 Silurid + 7 Waldgeist + 6 Waldgeist + 6 Gupps + 4 Primordial Magic + 2 (*I know the primordial magic is not a swampfiend, so I made one out of greenstuff to look the part)
Pikciwok
One of my friends regulary plays Swampfiend Zoraida. He cannot wait till Wyrd release plastic McTavish. With Hexed among you he plans first turn alpha strikes in killy schemes and Reckoning. Maybe he'll work for Lilith in larger games too? Along with Jozin z Bazin, of course.
Shirkattack
I spent the Winter holidays desperately trying to get my hands on a McTavish. Finally got one so now I'm going to figure out a way to work him in there. Hexed among you proved to be a nasty upgrade for slowing down clustered crews in schemes. I failed to really get any significant kills off on the competition. Maybe McTavish could be that extra muscle to turn that around.
Mxbedlam
McTavish is definitely a powerful ally in that list, though if you are limited to a single henchmen, he's not going to make the cut. Swamp Mother can make some surprisingly powerful plays when you start learning her nuances. She makes Silurids scheme better, and with the right set up can hit hard herself, not to mention the late game release of 2-4 models when she dies or pops Hatch. I would almost want to run her over Juju in this list. Sadly, we have no swamp fiend enforcers to make the list work. I'd love to see a Neverborn swamp beast of some sort in a future release, like a beefed up Silurid ambush attacker.
