Into the Steam - Pretty Awesome

So I bought Into the Steam a while ago, and I'm just pretty amazed at how cool it is.

And in general, how cool TTB is, not just in terms of rules and mechanics and fluff, but in its relation to Malifaux itself.

See, my expection was always that TTB would simply copy the mini game stuff (fluff, rules and such) onto an RPG framework. Instead, it's expanding it, and I was a bit surprised of that, but it was awesome. It's nice to see animals and creatures that are not present as minis.

Similarly it's great to take a closer look at the factions themselves. ItS presented that pretty awesomely, that Arcanist is not equal to M&SU, nor is M&SU equal to Foundry (only mostly). Couple that with additional players (Condor Rails wee!) it did a great job of expanding everything.

Follow that with very versatile new pursuits, it's a great book. Animator can be Ramos or Leveticus, while Mage can be practically anything, not just an Oxfordian Mage ripoff. Augmented can be Iron Zombie or Howard Langstrom!

Skill triggers are also great fun, and pretty useful. Big fan of them.

So they're awesome, and I'm really looking forward to the other books that'll be made following this.

I am reading it also and I also think this RPG is awesome. Congrats to Wyrd for this.

Even without playing it (I lack the time currently), reading the TTB books increases the immersion into the story by providing details (and artworks) on Malifaux, its surroundings and its inhabitants.

I look forward to see the Neverborn book !

One nitpick I'm missing is more info on the Star Theater, but that's the drawback of the book being both a faction and a region book. Still, I'm holding out hope we'll get a Penny Dreadful related to the Theater in the future.

Neverborn book sohuld be awesome!

As well as the Gremlin one. I want to play Moon Shinobi! :D

There's an adventure that takes place in the Star Theater in the June 2015 Chronicles, if you can't wait. ;)
