WolfDayDream
So I was wondering do the 1st 1.5 and 2nd edition rule books have progressive lore? Like 1 has descriptions of the factions then it kinda progresses to their current goals etc? Also I was wondering is there more lore on Collodi then just the page on here? I realy like him and Lynch and was curious if there was any canon stories of them. I love the lore and really wanna write my Battle Reports as short stories but I'm hoping to find lore info regarding my fave masters. Bengt
All the rulebooks, from both a editions, have a single ongoing storyline. But I don't think the factions change much over time, it has more impact on the masters (e.g. the whole avatar thing). Some masters also get their introduction and a lot of characterization in the main story (e.g. Kirai and Hamelin in Rising Powers). Collodi has a story in Crossroads, he was a Henchman in 1st ed, so I don't know if he had more than the unit entry lore then, at least there isn't more in Rising Powers where he first got rules. Bengt
Well I meant more talk bout mastersThe main storyline is pretty much all told by following along as various masters does stuff. The rulebooks also have more free standing stories focusing on masters. Chronicles have some master focused stories, but most are about civilians or lower station models, e.g. one is about someone becoming a December Acolyte. There is a list here. Clockwork Top Hat
Lynch wasn't in 1e if I remember correctly and Collodi was a henchman so not sure how much he will feature but the 1st ed and rising powers both have stories featuring the Neverborn masters and Chronicles also had a few stories.
Adran
Lynch was in first edition, and is in the stories in Storm of Shadows. It also gives some of his back story. There is at least one story in the old books about a travelling puppet show, but I can't rember which book it is.
Astrella
Twisting Fates has a Collodi Story, and Lynch was in first edition, namely in Storm of Shadows. (the last book that introduced the Ten Thunders as a faction.)
MR TORGUE
It makes me think thats theres gold in them'thar lore. --- I'm surprised that wyrd havn't commissioned a few authors to belt out some malifaux novels. I for one would be all over them as the malifaux/earthside background is incredibly rich and full of great opportunities for stories. solkan
There is a reason why Wyrd makes the 1.5 edition PDFs available for $7 each, and has been releasing them in nicely done audiobook/podcast format on the Breachside Broadcast podcast. Hungering Derpness
Neverborn lore is not to be confused with neverborn law, which is mainly a Lucius thing.
