I love the diversity here. It was close for me between A Better Class of Bouncer and McMourning. I liked the way Graves had been cast in Shadow from the front and light from behind, but in the end it was the clarity of McMourning that got my vote.

Well done all!

I ended up with the same two (A better class of bouncer & Mcmourning) as my finalists for my vote, but I ended up going for the Bouncer, as I really like source lighting effect and the glow behind his eyes.  I kind of wish I had a second vote as McMourning looks great.

Nope. Tried it non-anonymous. I don't really think many people are voting based off who voted... unless they already knew ahead of time because someone told them to vote for that mini.

Great entries all around.  There were some really good models in there.  Nice Conversions too.

Hey all,

One of the participants reached out and said he realized he'd misread the rules and entered something against contest rules. No big deal, but I've removed his entry.

Anyone who voted for McMourning: it was a great piece of art, but you'll have to vote for something else!

Sorry to anyone who already voted, I assure you it was a misunderstanding, and now all is well in the world.

Well, very sorry to hear that- I thought it was a great piece (and clearly a lot of others did, too). Good on (whoever it was, didn't look at the entrant's name) to point out the problem, but that's too bad. If it was because it was shown somewhere else, I'd like to put myself down as fine with it being back, since the entrants aren't anonymous anyway.

Does the "delete my vote" option work to reset your vote, or does it just nullify it?

Some really great entries here. Special shoutouts to the first Hannah's hair, the ice spikes of Snow Storm, the Bayou Gremlin in general, the hat on Santa Claws, the lighting on Greaves, the metal on Hoffman, Elsa's hair and the intimidating base of aRaspy.

Woah... That Mr. Graves is causing the cash in my wallet to metaphorically catch fire! I feel the mood of that piece in such an eerie way. I agree with whoever mentioned sin city. the harsh vibe and the hidden face give it such a film noire look and it is chilling, then you see the back of him and this warm orange light... makes you think he is looking out from inside that casino and as much as you want to run from his face and the darkness, the light just looks so inviting... Truly spectacular! not to mention, in my own painting, no matter how heavy the source lighting, I would not have had the guts to hide the face like that. really takes you out of the comfort zone when looking at him.

However, Bete got my vote. As much as I love that work on Mr. Graves, that red to black fade just took my breath away! If she didn't look menacing enough already, seeing her rise out of blood looking so happy about it... shivers... she is a great piece and whoever painted it really captured the essence of her.

If I could vote for both, I totally would have.

I think all the entries are fantastic, but A Better Class of Bouncer gets my vote.  The source lighting, the colors, the contrast and the uniqueness of it all sold me.

In my oppinion the two Mr. Graves are the best entries, Extremely evocative and thematic. Though in my oppinion the one in front of the wall edges out over the one with the cool lighting effect.

But there are some really good entries.

Had voted for McM, so my revote is Kang. I don't think the Graves on that is getting the most votes is bad by any stretch, however it is overall too dark.

Therefore, I decided that the lighting and shading on Frozen Moment Kang had to win. It is clean and shows the details of the model incredibly well.

I thought I was going mad! Reading everyone talking about McMourning and not being able to see the model! My top choices were Hannah 1, Graves 1, Hoffman and Graves 2. It was a tricky choice as there were a lot of quality efforts (plastic Bayou Gremlin was great too - definitely wins the basing competition) I went for Graves 2. Perhaps not technically the top paintjob but I just love that kind of heavy OSL and the miniature looks amazing. Fantastic effort to whoever painted him. I'll mention the 'Frozen Raspy' too. Not the best paintjob but I really loved your concept!

Lots of great entries in this contest. Was very difficult to choose the piece to vote for, but in the end, Better Class of Bouncer won out. I loved the orange and purple play that came with the lighting effect, and it just feels like it tells a story all by its lonesome.

It was hard to pick which mini to vote for as there were far more entries in that category and all of them looked great. I had to browse the gallery two or three times to go over all of the models a fair enough amount of time to decide. I eventually had to go with the crowd here on this one, and vote for the bouncer because it was just done amazingly. Shout out to the Bayou Boss, though. It was tough to pick between the two, and the reason I picked Bouncer is because around the mouth of the Bayou Boss it looks like the green might not be the cleanest. I might also just be the picture quality.
