SpiralngCadavr
I used Misaki as a case of "actually no" as the sole counterpoint I could think of to the "very little" that yours tended to be. However, I didn't word it very well.
Vorschlag
One concept with themes is that it relates to the crew just as much as the master. I.E your Master could accompany a crew of themed models for a purpose where he/she/it would not have access to their usual lackies. Lucius travelling through the bayou to meet zoraida = McTavish, Silurids, Walgiest and maybe some mimics. Zoraida having a Entourage of Nephilim as her bodyguard after a meeting with Lilith. As a Story telling game, the crew can determine the story as much as the Master. It's when you have a hodgepodge (damn outcasts) crew of models which have no story reason to be working together. The Covete to this is that some masters have either a) control over certain creatures (beasts, swampfiends etc) or that they have a good trading network. McMourning really stands out here as we know he openly trades with Nicodem, Seamus and Molly. One last option is simple aesthetics, we have no reason why Izamu, Toshiro, Ashigaru or Chiaki would work with Kirai but because of the cultural theme it both makes sense and looks good on the board.
