TJUK
Following in the footsteps of my much more talented brothers and sisters on the forum, I decided to start a blog type post to document the Malifaux models I paint. I'm doing this mainly for two reasons; firstly, I'd like to have some feedback and advice about how to improve what I'm doing - I definitely need all the help I can get ; and secondly, I'm really good at losing momentum with my painting and do one or two models and then not touch it for months, I may have been painting for about 2 years in total but I've finished pitifully few models. Enough preamble, here we go -- Sonia - I think I need to highlight her hair a bit more. One of my favourite models - Samael Lady J crew I painted about a year ago, hence the dusty boobs. P.s. does anyone know how to get dust of a model The Judge - unfortunately he's one of my least favourite models. I might have to get the new Lady J set and swap him out. Poor old Scales o' justice. Death Marshals - the one of the left was the first OSL that I have tried... definitely harder than it looks. And the aformentioned super bonus easter egg. I know he's not a Wyrd model but I just finished him and he was sitting on my painting table weeping quietly as I took photos of other minis so I thought I'd take on of him too. Thanks for looking guys, let me know if you would be interested in me continuing to post models I've done in here - I have some Guild riflemen almost finished and a peacekeeper / guardian combo primed and read too. Jimbobovalsocks
These all look pretty solid. The fire on Sonia's sword is top notch. you're right, her hair could use a bit more highlighting if you felt inclined. With the OS less can often be more. I just feel it looks a bit too heavy. Let the colour underneath show through a bit more to make it look like there is light refelecting off it rather than it being a totally different colour. Thin layers and just gradualy adding in a bit of the 'OSL colour' to the base colour underneath. Definately keep them coming, it's always nice to see other's efforts. MasterDisaster
I love the paint jobs, they look really cool. The Juggernaut is particularly nice. I love the blending on the claw and plasma cannon. For your dusty models I would go to a long soft bristled brush. I use a brush like this for washes. I make sure it's utterly bone dry and they gently brush it over the surface of my models to remove any dust and cobwebs that may have gathered. Afterwards just thoroughly wash the brush to remove the dust and webs and you should be good to go!
TJUK
Cheers MasterDisaster! I thought getting the pledge out and having a bit of a scrub would be a bad idea! I was thinking of using that model as a proxy for a guild hound... but I think my opponent might object just a little bit!

Any form of scrubbing on a paint job that nice should be a hangable offense! If you could get that guy to fit on a 30mm base I'd let you proxy it, minus the plasma cannon of course! Malifaux is no place for such filth
