You do not have to pay for merc tax in your pool only when hiring during games. Also upgrades you are taking only need to be paid for once in the pool. Another question (I never played in a tournament with pools before) - multiple upgrades don't have to be paid for extra, but multiple models do? So basically if you wanted to take 2 Oathkeepers and 2 Ronin, Oathkeeper would only need to be in your pool once for 1SS as it's an upgrade, but the Ronin would both need to be there as they're models, so 2 x 6SS. I also lost by a point to Philippa, Arran and Ellaise, so walked away with the wooden spoon. However, I had an absolute blast, enjoyed every game and every opponent, and learnt a lot.
