lusciousmccabe
So while it did have the advantage of not requiring much fine motor skill the liquid greenstuff on my Insidious Madnesses both took way longer than filling the gaps with putty and clumped up a lot of the detail by the time it filled any of the moderately deep gaps. So I would strongly recommend not using this method. http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/uploads/monthly_2016_05/large.IMG_20160531_105540709.jpg.e1db9c24064c123a7132e88499690b75.jpg
-Loki-
You used way too much liquid green stuff. Get yourself some throwaway detail brushes, some skewers and some very fine sand paper. Use a bit of water with the liquid green stuff to thin it a little, almost to paint consistency, then paint it over the gaps. This will take multiple applications. Use the throwaway detail brushes. When it's built up and looks like there's a slight mound over the gap, wrap some fine sand paper over the end of the skewer and gently sand it away. In the end it should just look like like you have thin green lines running over the models. Mine don't seem to be too bad. Most look nicely hidden in areas where washes would settle and the lines will be hidden, and none of the gaps are more than maybe 1/4mm. lusciousmccabe
If the splint on my thumb didn't prevent me from doing anything with that level of precision I would have just made up some milliut, pressed it into the gaps and smoothed off the excess. Does the same job without all the drying time and less mess. The only reason I bothered with the liquid greenstuff was because I wanted to see how it performed on some of the extremely fine gaps on these models and was really impatient to put these guys together. -Loki-
Fair enough. To be fair, once they're painted people won't tell the difference. No one can tell what they're meant to look like anyway.
lusciousmccabe
True story. Even with the instructions I was sticking appendages on the one on the left every which way.
