JustAMalcontent
I picked up a Seamus boxed set, and I want to paint the rotten belles' clothing in pastel shades and was wondering if anyone knows of a good tutorial for painting pastels. quiche
Chances are you'll be working up from an already light base colour and a white or gray primer. An off-white like a bone, undead flesh or tan can help lighten your base without going with pure white. (might want to save it for final highlights and actual whites) If you are layering up light colours, the rule of multiple thinned layers are better than one applies doubly - with so much white pigment in the light colours it can get chalky very quickly. Shading could be limited to a tiny controlled stroke of the pure base colour in the very deepest recesses - you want to avoid having to build up a pastel again from a dark colour whereever possible. pixelante
Bascially you will take a colour and add increasing amounts of white to fade it. for example take a purple colour, add white and now you have a lilac this is your shade add white and now its your main colour. Add more white and now its the highlight.
