  1. Anna's Lovelace's gravity well says: Enemy models may not be Placed within 6 unless they are Placed by an effect generated by friendly models. is this only referring to the Place from movement effect and abilities such as Leap and Flight or does it also effect models that are placed from summoning, unburying and replace. for example: can Sandeep Summon a wind gamin within 6 of Anna Lovelace? can a Soulstone Miner Unbury within 6 of Anna Lovelace? can the Corphy duet be Replaced by 2 Corphy within 6 of Anna Lovelace? the 3 examples all describe models being placed (with a lower case p) in the description of their mechanics, is this different from a Place (with an upper case P) mentioned in Gravity well. Thanks for the help.
  2. Hi dudes! For long time ago I doen't play Mali, so I'm returning on M3E, in the rulebook says "The new model’s Health is set to the original model’s Health or to its maximum Health whichever is lower If the effect that Replaced the model Heals the new model the new model Heals at this point" So when I have 1 Fire Gamin, and summon 2 more with Sandeep, and with the last Fire Gamin with slow, replace for a Fire Golem, it will be created with slow, 1Ap and ONLY 4 wd? thx in advance.
  3. Gunfighter says this model may treat any projectile action as having a range of melee 1". If you were in engagement with another model would this action be a melee attack or a projectile attack or both. And how would that work. Been using the advanced building rules it's say in the advance building rules that place affects cannot be used to move into and out of buildings. Would summon, flight, replace and unbury not be able to place a model into the building as they would all use a placement effect to move a existing model or a new model into the building.
  4. So i was playing a game of 50 ss with jack, running amongst others 2 guilty. My opponent was running an ashes and dust. In the first round, his ashes killed my guilty, therefore attaching the punish the wicked upgrade to it. So far so good. However, as i then killed his ashes, we noticed, that both demise abilities would go off. However, the demise of the ashes and dust would replace the model with the ashen core, wich would keep the upgrade on it, while the punish the wicked just summons the guilty and doesn't remove the upgrade itself. When i then killed the core in the same activation, it summoned a seccond guilty to the table. Is that really how it works or did we get something wrong? And if it is, is it intentional?
  5. Following situation. 2 rats are already in play and have focus , two are summoned afterwards. One rat activates, moves twice into position and creates the Rat King. 1. Can the rat king still activate and how many actions does he have left? 2. Does the condition add up or does he get the highest value (so only one focus)? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hey team neverborn! There was someone in Europe (Jake/Jacob) that has been tearing up the field with a summoning pandora. I've painted a set of field reporters for Nellie and my body is ready. Idea is this: sorrows are too expensive. Here is what I have so far, Declared Faction: Neverborn Crew Name: 50ss Leader: Pandora - Cache:(3) Voices 1ss Fears Given Form 1ss Depression 1ss Hooded Rider 10ss Retribution's eye 1ss Doppleganger 7ss Iggy 5ss Enraged Tantrum 0ss Baby Kade 6ss The Mimic's Blessing 1ss Mysterious Effigy 4ss Insidious Madness 5ss Insidious Madness 5ss Depression seems like an auto include either woe is me. Overall I'm struggling with wrapping my head around why u would play Woe panda over Box or Voices. What strats/schemes does WoePanda want to play into?
  7. Hello! Playing Malifaux for some time and i have a qusetion - what is the best summoner in the game in terms of gaining VP and killing people. I'm playing gremlins and my favourite master is Somer. My problem that im keeping summoning until turn 3-4 while im not getting out f bayou gremlins models + picking taxidermist for some stuffed piglets. Realy enjoying to have 15-20 activations against elite 7-8 man crews So can you advice natural-born summoners who are hell for the opponents? And how much stuff do they need to start running. The most obvious idea is Nicodem but i never seen him/other summoners in action.
  8. If I play against Sandeep and he has his upgrade to summon minions Or versus Molly, and just use her "The one left behind ability"
  9. What happens when Karina uses faces of the oblivion to summon a model and a death marshal pine boxes it but the ability that summoned the model says at the end of turn the model takes damage, gains slow, and is buried. Does it still take damage, gain slow, and rebury itself if it's already buried?
  10. Does anyone know how teddy was summoned around minute 12? It appears that the Widow Weaver summoned teddy but that can't be right. I know The Dreamer can summon a teddy if he has the "Dreams of Pain" upgrade but this player is playing Collodi which I thought can only summon puppets specifically marionettes or wicked dolls. Could someone please share how this teddy shenanigan works, thanks!
  11. According to the shifting loyalties campaign rules, summoned units disappear after the end of the encounter. This does make sense to restrict growing resser armies but does also cripple units that are supposed to resummon themself through their playstyle. Like Ashes and Dust. Scenario: I kill my Ashes&Dust round-1 to summon a Storm and a Core and then resummon Ashes&Dust at round-2. The problem: my round-2 Ashes&Dust counts now as "Summoned" and is going to disappear after the end of the game? This feels kinda strange. The same fits for the desolation engine. How do you handle it? DId I forget some rules that prevent my Ashes&Dust to disappear after just one encounter?
  12. I recently got into Malifaux with my friend and have been playing a standard Dead of Winter boxed set. I'm now looking to expand my collection and while I already bought Hannah for her own burying synthesis, I am now specifically looking at Karina's ability to summon horror minions such as the drowned, the university transmortis minions, punk zombies, and guild autopsies without paying soulstones for them. While guild autopsies are clearly allowed because the rule states that by taking the summoning upgrade you can include guild autopsies in your crew, I see no indication that the others are allowed to join outcasts. Do the restrictions to crew building only count towards models you pay soulstones to play, or can you only summon models from within your faction? Can I summon horror minions from resurrectionists for my outcast crew? And further, would the guild autopsies then be unable to summon zombies if I played outcast? Thanks in advance for the help!
  13. Hey all, since I've been playing Malifaux, not once have I played a neverborn crew. However I'm going to be picking up the Dreamer crew from the webstore during Gencon. So here's the list I've come up with, it's mostly designed around just summoning everything I need to the table from the word go. If people could please offer tips, thoughts or suggestions that would be great. The Dreamer - cashe 7 -Otherworldly 2 -Dreams of Pain 5 3 DayDreams 6 Coppelius 8 Mr Tannen 6 Stitched Together 6 Lilu 7 Lilutu 7
  14. Only played two games so far. I have a question on characters who can summon models. Can a model be summoned if it is not in the initial crew. For Example: You make a crew comprised solely of Molly and Horrors. During play, can Molly summon a Belle using her Undead Construction ability?
  15. I'm playing Dr. Douglas McMourning more and more lately. The more I play him, the better I get. It's a great vicious circle. Anyways, critique my P.H.D. (Dr. Douglas McMourning...P.H.D...lol) 35pt General List: Master: Dr. Douglas McMourning (6 Cache) - 2 Body Part Counters, 4 Soulstones Totem: Zombie Chihuahua (1 Cost) Minions: Canine Remains (2 Cost) Canine Remains (2 Cost) The Hanged (8 Cost) Dead Rider (10 Cost) The Drowned (4 Cost) The Drowned (4 Cost) Rotten Belle (4 Cost) 35pt List vs Summoner: Master: Dr. Douglas McMourning (6 Cache) - 2 Body Part Counters, 4 Soulstones Totem: Zombie Chihuahua (1 Cost) Minions: Canine Remains (2 Cost) Canine Remains (2 Cost) Bete Noire (9 Cost) The Drowned (4 Cost) The Drowned (4 Cost) The Hanged (8 Cost) Rotten Belle (4 Cost) (1 Soulstone left over added to Body Part Counters, totaling 3) 25pt List: Master: Dr. Douglas McMourning (6 Cache) - 2 Body Part Counters, 4 Soulstones Totem: Zombie Chihuahua (1 Cost) Minions: Canine Remains (2 Cost) Canine Remains (2 Cost) Dead Rider (10 Cost) The Hanged (8 Cost) (2 Soulstones left over added to Body Part Counters, totaling 4) Available Summons for any game: Canine Remains Flesh Construct Rogue Necromancy I usually Surgical Implements Strike a Canine Reamins/Zombie Chihuahua until I get some Corpse/Body Part counters built up, then summon a Flesh Construct, or if I'm doing alright in position a Rogue Necromancy. I use The Hanged to target the big guys my opponent has and either take away half their health and healing or rope them in with a little bit of damage and pull them 4" toward that model (usually sitting in a pile of my models). I use Dead Rider to pull models around the bored as well as allowing McMourning to Strike him to gain Body Part Counters (with his Regneration 1 and Adjust Purpose, 2 Wds for a (0) Action, it's really not a worry if he takes a hit here and there). He's great for throwing my opponent off as well as dragging my models into a fray and watching my opponent freak out for a minute as they readjust their entire game-plan. I haven't ran the Drowned in a game yet, but I foresee myself using them as distrations and mini bombs. I'll use them to toss bile at my opponents while advancing towards their clusters of weaker models, and when they attempt to swarm me, Bursting Spray will take care of the rest. Although I haven't run Bete Noir in a real game yet either; against a summoner she is a no brainer...killer a weak model (or wait until they do) pop her up and deal as much as I can to anything and everything around her, if she dies, oh well, she'll be back again and again. Rotten Belle's haven't ran along side the Doctor either yet officially, but their Lure will make a great way of getting models around the bored. They can pull my models to them as escape or advance; as well as bring enemy models into ranged for Body Part harvesting. Zombie Chihuahua is giving me some problems. I use him as a back up Body Part generator by using him to Magical Extension Dr. McMourning's Wracked with Pain spell, to mainly get Counters...but he takes away so much utility with the taking away of (0) cost actions until the Closing Phase, plus he doesn't actually cast it most of the time either, if I really want it to work I have to cheat or get really lucky! Finally, Flesh Constructs, well to be honest, they haven't seen much board time lately, I bring out the Rogue Necromancy as fast as I can now and then pop up a Construct or two later on in the game. I use them as meat shields and just let them soak up as much attention as they can get. When they're dead, I use my other Canine Remains to scoop up their Counters they leave behind and that's about it. So there it is. Sorry it's kind of a ramble post, just wanted to toss it all out there. Critique away. I welcome the good, the bad, and the ugly! My feelings won't be hurt. Thanks in advance. Happy Ress-ing!
