  1. Here we go! English GT 2019 is now live! You can find the tournament pack here: EGT Tournament Pack This event is being supported by KR Multicase. The highlights are: Tournament Format This will be a Malifaux Third Edition tournament – any rules here are subject to change pending any possible Gaining Grounds release before the event. The English GT will be a six round event over two days. On registration, players will commit to a single faction they will be playing for the entire event. Strategy and schemes are revealed below. Each player will register on the day with a specified faction. At the beginning of each round you must declare a leader from your chosen faction then hire a legal crew totalling 50SS (including upgrades). Only models that have had an official rules release (available on www.wyrd-games.net/malifaux or have official, physical M3E cards) will be considered legal. With the new faction books being released now in electronic copies: I am happy for models that are released in the faction books to be used (proxied in most cases) as long as you are able to provide a printed copy of the card for your opponents perusal. Please note, beta testing cards are not suitable. Dead Man’s Hand models are not considered legal. Masters may not be hired that are out of keyword with the declared Leader. The following masters may count as Henchman during hiring for the purposes of the ‘Helping Hand’ ability if you are not able to obtain the rules/a suitable proxy for their Totem: Dashel Barker; Nekima. Tournament Schedule All subject to Gaining Grounds recommendations. Each game will last two hours including set-up. 5. Hello! To celebrate the M3E Launch we'll be having a weekend of open play at the Dark Sphere Shepherd's Bush megastore. I have a few tables booked 12-6 Saturday and Sunday, 6-7 July, so just turn up and play! I will be around to aid with any rules queries, run demos if required and generally try to organise. It should be a fun weekend of gaming and socialising. So whether you are new to the game, a returning player or you've played every step of the beta, come down whenever you are free, play some games and meet our awesome local community! You don't need to commit yourself to anything, but if you're planning to come down, it would be great if you let me know below when you are planning to turn up. Hope to see you there. 6. Hello All I am going to be running a Tides of Battle league at Dark Sphere, London starting 11th March, running through to the week commencing 15th April. While I am trying to promote a (so far) unofficial club night of Wednesday evenings, all participants are encouraged to arrange their own games within the league. There is no fee to join - just table fees at Dark Sphere when you play your games. We will be following the Tides of Battle Document that can be found here: https://www.wyrd-games.net/the-other-side Most of our chat for arranging games etc. happens on the Dark Sphere Malifaux and The Other Side Facebook group - so come and join us if you are interested. If you do not use Facebook, please contact me as I am looking to some alternative options as well. Hope you can join us! Any questions, please ask. Tom

  16. Hello All Just to let you know we are having a day of Malifaux fun next Wednesday at Dark Sphere, London next Wednesday (20th December). Not a tournament by any stretch of the imagination, just a few tables booked in for the whole day. I'm going to write a couple of Christmas themed story encounters for people to have a go at if they desire - just turn up when you are free, play who ever is around and leave when you want/have to. On previous occasions I don't think anyone has had to wait around too long to get a game, and it's just a fun way to get a game or two in and meet our group. I'm planning to get there for opening at 11am and will probably head to the pub at some point in the evening... If you are new to Malifaux, I will be happy to run you through a demo game. Regardless, if you are free and in the area come and say hi! We're a friendly bunch, promise! Details for Dark Sphere: http://www.darksphere.co.uk/shop.php Come join us on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/darkspheremalifaux/ One of the story encounters I have in mind is a variation on an Enforcer Brawl, so make sure you bring along an Enforcer. Hope to see many old and new faces there! Tom

  18. Hello all! I will be running my next Henchman Hardcore tournament at Dark Sphere on Sunday 30 April. Event details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1223510771050770/?ti=as Tickets available here: http://www.darksphere.co.uk/p.php?p=77524 Dark Sphere is close to Lambeth North underground station, or a short walk from Waterloo and Vauxhall stations. Hoping it will be a fun afternoon of gaming - if you have any questions, feel free to hit me up. Hope to see you there! Tom.
  19. Hello All! I know it's short notice, but I'm running a Henchman Hardcore tournament this Sunday at Dark Sphere in South London. Hopefully this will develop into a regular event, but this will be my first attempt at TO'ing (*GULP*). The event will start at 12pm, and I hope to be in the pub by 3pm... beginners and veterans equally welcome. Rules are as follows (lifted almost directly from GG): Restrictions Henchman Hardcore is different from standard Malifaux in the following ways: All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. The game size is 20 Soulstones. All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). Only one Scheme will be available. The same Crew must be used in each round of the event. Set Up All rounds use the following set up: Deployment: Close. Strategy: Hardcore Extraction. This Strategy uses the Extraction rules (Gaining Grounds 16 pg. 10) with the exception that VP may be scored on the first Turn. Scheme Pool: Assassinate (Core Rulebook pg. 68). This is the only Scheme available and it must always be taken. Tournament Rules Use Gaining Grounds to determine pairings and score the event to determine the winner with the following exceptions: 0 Tournament Points are awarded for a draw. All round times are 25 minutes. The event is unranked, and there are no prizes - come play for the fun of it and the kudos! There is no painting requirement, only that all models are fully constructed and if not official Wyrd products, must clearly and obviously represent the unit selected - if in doubt, please ask me. Dark Sphere is located a short walk from Lambeth North underground station, which is unfortunately closed at the moment, so the closest station is currently Waterloo. Directions here: http://www.darksphere.co.uk/retaillocation.php Tickets are available from Dark Sphere's website priced at £2, here: http://www.darksphere.co.uk/p.php?p=73062. Only 8 tickets were originally put on sale, if they go quick I will try to convince Dark Sphere staff to give us more tables, so please get your ticket in advance if possible. Any questions, feel free to ask here or in PM. Hope to see some of you soon! Tom.
  20. If anyone would like a demo game of Malifaux or knows of someone who would like a demo game, please post below. I am happy to arrange a time to meet you at Warboar Wargames in Bromley, South London to guide you in your first venture through the breach.
  21. Hi All! Once again we are holding our doubles tournament here in lovely Leytonstone, because in all honesty we all had such a good time previously we wanted to do it again! As anyone who attend last year will tell you, this is as relaxed as a tournament as you are likely to get, and because (if you have never plaid doubles) the combo's you and your opponents can unlock can be frankly outrageous, but also quite hilarious. Please find attached the Rules Pack for the event. We would really like to highlight the tiebreaker points system as there is quite a bit you can do before you even attend the event (ooooohhhhhhhhh!!!). We have spaces for 12 teams of two players and if you would like a ticket, please send £30 for your team to twgc_treasurer@tanelornwgc.org – alongside the other details listed in the pack. First come, first served! Of course if you have any queries then feel free to post here or to message me on the forums. All of us at Tanelorn look forward to seeing you then! Teams PAID (once space is gone, it’s gone… till there is a drop out and we pull your team from the reserve list… oh you know what I mean) 1. London Demo night

On the 22nd of September I will be running a demo night at Dark Sphere in London. If you fancy trying out Malifaux just come along from 6.30pm and I'll run you through the basics.
  24. Hello, Just in case you don't know me.... My name is Matt and I’m part of a fantastic Wargames Club called Tanelorn in East London, UK. Going for over 15 years, we are based in Leytonstone and are only a minute walk from the Underground station. We play all sorts admittedly but I am totally smitten with Malifaux so thought this was a splendid place to post lol Why I am posting here today? Historically we have always meet once a week on a Sunday (currently 2-6 with once a month a 12-6 session), but from 19th March 2015 we are going to be trialling an additional night of wargaming goodness fortnightly on Thursdays from 6.30 to 10.30. Interested? More details about the club can be found here. If you would like to come down and generally see what we are all about then please feel free to just pop in when we are meeting, but if you want to get cracking on the wargaming side, then please register on our forums and post in the relevant thread on our ‘organise a game’ thread. Of course feel free to post anywhere else you would like. If you run into any difficulties registering, or have any other questions, then please email me at mattc<......Remove..Spam…Blocker......>@tanelornwgc.org or if you prefer message us on twitter @TanelornWGclub . Thanks for reading, and if you can make it, it would be great to see you there! Matt
