Hey all! I will be hosting a holiday themed Malifaux tournament on Dec. 16th at Dreamers Vault in Burnsville. Standard gaining grounds 2017 format with a few themed special rules to be thrown in at the start of each round. There will be a $10 entry fee, with all of it going towards store credit prizes. Prizes will be given out to top 3, best sportsmanship, and best painted. Registration will open at 10AM and the tournament will start at 11AM. Rumble on the River is a 16 player Malifaux Tournament taking place in the kindly Appalachian Valley! We will be playing at the NEW Lost Legion Games and Comic: The Vault in Vienna, West Virginia! Same building, just next door with a lot more room. The date of the event will be Saturday, October 14th 2017 and registration will start at 10:30. The address of The Vault is 517 21st St; Vienna, WV; 26105. Here is a link that will generate a Google Maps route for you! This will be a Fixed Faction Gaining Grounds 2017 tournament with each game being 50ss and having a game time of 2 hours. There will not be a painting requirement and distinguishable proxies are acceptable. This tournament is intended to be beginner friendly and we would be more than happy to answer questions at any point and have accommodations as needed. If there are an odd number of participants, a ringer match will try to be arranged instead of a bye. In the case of a ringer match, the participant will be given a win but their tournament Diff&VP will be affected by the match. In the case of a bye, the player will receive a win, the average whole positive match Differential, and the average whole match VP. Placings will be prioritized by TP, Differential, then VP. Winnings will be from a tournament kit that some promise breakers have dropped extra goods into. There will be a $10 entry fee to cover space used and a set of commemorative scheme markers. Hosting this event will be Henchmen AJ Miller and Joseph Menear.

I got into a heated debate on a recent tournament. My opponent took Eliminate on Levi. The pertinent part is "When the model is reduced to 0 Wounds, killed or sacrificed, you get 1 VP" On my first turn, I use his (0) to sacrifice Levi and summon a Hollow Waif. Now, there's two ways this can be played out. 1. My version: Pariah's Soul states "if this model is killed or sacrificed, it is not killed or sacrificed". Hence, my opponent doesn't get a point for Eliminate, since Levi's "sacrificed" state is substituted by a bury effect and he doesn't count as sacrificed. 2. His version: for Pariah's Soul to trigger, Levi needs to enter the "sacrificed" state, which in turn triggers Eliminate. So, is there a rules-based consensus on the topic or is this one of the mysteries surrounding model death in Malifaux?

Hi all, i have a question about extraction (GG 2017 Strategy). Which is the size of the informant marker? Sunday we had a tournament and they pointed out that in the tournament rules the marker size was not written So it could also be a point or impassable, ht 5, etc ... How should we consider it? We used to play it as a 30mm marker ht 0. But this is not written anyware so... What's the right way to play it?

I used to take the Emissary because I love the model, but I never found it that great outside of Jack Daw. Now, though, I find myself glad I hired it MUCH more regularly. It does Claim Jump on it's own, and still gets to pop a shot off at someone each turn whilst doing it, and the trinkets are so good now - giving companion to something with a big punch makes dig their graves a bit more straight forward, don't mind me on something mobile helps collect evidence, pick up heads or get eyes on an opponent's master etc. I don't really know what changed, since a lot of the new schemes are tweaks of old ones, and the strats are the same, but I find he just slots into crews so much better this time around.

Been dusting off my collection these past few weeks and one of the groups of figures i would like to play with is my outcast collection. Since I didn't see a recent thread on misaki (ill admit to not looking all that hard ;p ) i thought i ask what some thoughts and suggestions on her are. Also i have a small VS crew of the old metals, just added the steam trunk and will prob pick up a few things like Hanna, Anna, Lazarus... As for misaki does she cover some of the strats/schemes that von shill might not be good into? Does she like to play with some of the last blossum models from TT? ( i have a bunch of tt stufff like oiran, misaki's box, Yamaziko) or does she fill a very similare role to VS? I ask b/c i have them both:)

Hello wonderful Malifaux friends, It’s the beginning of a new year and with it comes the new Gaining Grounds 2017!! In we are hosting a fun fast-track training league called, “The League of Extraordinary Masters”. The Goal of the league, In the next four short weeks, (January 1st-31st) the league will foster a fun learning experience crafted to the new Schemes and strategies. Here’s how it works: Step 1: HAVE FUN! Why else would you hang out with the group Step 2: Play a normal game as you normally would with a friendly opponent Step 3: Report your games by posting the results on this page. (Crewfaux makes it easy with the sharing feature) Step 4: pick up or print out a League bingo sheet, (will be posted at the beginning of the new year) to help you keep track of the schemes and strategies you have completed and the one’s remaining. The good stuff, (a.k.a. Incentives, not that you guys need any) At the end of every week I will update the pinned post on this event page with your totals. As you complete more schemes and strategies you will earn more ‘trophies’.
