  2. LVO 2018 Jan 26th-Jan 28th, 2018 Sunday, Jan 28th Henchman Hardcore Team Mixer 3 Rounds. 1hr 30min each. 10min set up and 10min break between rounds. 1hr lunch break. $10 entry fee All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. Teams will be randomly drafted and paired with their opponents at the start of each round. The same Crew must be used in each round of the event. *Upgrades may be switched out between rounds* All models must be painted to a 3 color minimum tabletop standard. Official Wyrd proxies only. Conversions must contain 66% original parts. The game size is 20 Soulstones. *Coming in at 19ss will NOT result in an additional Soulstone to your Henchman’s Cache. Any remaining/unused Soulstones will be lost.* All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. Each Henchman has access to their own individual Soulstone Cache. Soulstones may not be shared amongst teammates. A teammates models and/or Scheme makers count as friendly for all game mechanics and scoring. Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “BLANK” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). Strategies will be predetermined for each round. Each member of a team will select 2 Schemes at the start of the game. Schemes may not be revealed at the start of the game to any other player. Each player will work towards earning VP on their individual Schemes. Schemes that declare a specific target must have the name of the target written down before the start of the game. Otherwise, no VP will be scored on that Scheme. Players will add their individual VP scores together to determine a Winner for each round. A Win will count as an additional 3 VP, a Draw 2 VP and a Loss will gain 0 VP. The VP for Win/Loss/Draw will be added to each players individual VP score in order to determine final tournament standings. Tickets available at: http://www.lasvegasopen.net/

  4. Hey! I'm going to my first tournament since starting back at M2E. I've made some rough outline lists for the rounds. I want some feedback! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-OKjbZrm79iSB2tatzG-jd7-fDIITZmm2Eos0YW1jhQ/edit There are the three rounds. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1paSWjNAwlnw4984EgNR-upfOKq-Sgv2Zd5nzYNzI9_4/edit?usp=sharing Those are my lists. Really hope to get some feedback!
  5. Hello fellow Malifaux players, I want to get the discussion started about the seemingly increasing number of people concerned with this games balance. First of all, I find it very difficult to get the right words here, so to make it clear, all stated below is just my personal opinion, I don`t want to offend anyoneand if something is not clear, feel free to just ask - and let`s keep this the most excellent and awesome forum ever by being kind to each other It`s also important that, as I said, I want a discussion, so please just type what`s on your mind So, to get the whole thing started: To me, it seems that for some people the recent erratas started sort of a "cuddle everything I struggle playing against" attitude, and I don`t think that`s for the best of the game. People are shouting for erratas instead of trying to actually win a game, or even without reading through the models stat cards properly... (there are many threads where someone states he`s struggling against this and that, and then I keep on reading and it`s just wrong play on both sides which could`ve been avoided by reading the stat cards thoroughly) There`s also the old tale of struggling with the terrain, where certain crews naturally seem stronger than "normal", but that´s a problem as old as miniatures gaming itself^^ And sometimes, there actually might occur situations where you can`t do something against certain models, but that just means that you have to try your best and play around it, and everyone loses, but players should try to get better by practicing and playing, and not by building themselves a ruleset that just seems more comfortable. (and what happens when eventually everything got cuddled, will there still interesting games to be had?) That`s it for now, that`s my personal opinion, what about your`s? I´m curious
  6. Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/430513740340913/ Basics: League Location: Game Empire Pasadena 1795 East Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, Ca. 91106 Registration: In Store at Game Empire. Registration fee is a $20 minimum purchase of Malifaux products. League Start Date: Monday, October 22, 2012 League End Date: Sunday, December 16, 2012 League Crew Construction: Players must declare a faction at the start of the league and will purchase crews from within that faction for all league games according the rules for hiring crews on page 70 of the rules manual. All models used must be Malifaux miniatures. League Specifics: The Malifaux Achievement League is set-up to encourage Malifaux players to play regular games over the time period of the league (8 weeks) and accumulate achievement points during the league. Games and Achievements must be reported at the end of the game to the local henchman (Ben Ripple) or to the store. A tracking sheet will be kept at the store in order for games to be played at any time during the week. Prizes will be awarded in store credit based on the number of participants over the course of the league. - Achievements all carry a separate value, and multiple achievements can be earned within the same game. - Some achievements can be earned multiple times during the league, as noted on the scoring sheet. - During a single game, a player may earn only one achievement from each category. - Get your league pack from the store before a game. Have opponents initial next to your achievements in the game, then return it to the store for our record keeping. All games begin with each player revealing their selected leader simultaneously, then each has the opportunity to build their crew as they wish. Players should agree on a Soulstone points level before these leaders are chosen. Achievements are intentionally designed with the expectation that nobody will complete them all. The idea is to give people a variety of paths to “scoring” while also encouraging growth of our Malifaux community. To see all of the achievements available check out a league packet at the store! You can play a week's games from Monday to Sunday, but Mondays will be set aside especially for Malifaux and will probably be the easiest time to find games!
