November Malifaux Monthly Tournament! - Houston, Texas Date: Saturday, November 11, 2023 Start time: 11:00am Location: Dragon's Lair Houston North Address: 21155A State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070 It’s time once again for the monthly Malifaux Tourney at Dragon’s Lair Houston! We’ve had some great turnouts for our monthly tourneys all year long and had the AMAZING Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux GT last month–let’s keep that momentum going and have another fantastic tourney! We’ve been officially using clocks for the last few months and everything has been going smoothly, so I wanted to remind everyone that we will continue to officially use clocks in a full way for this event! I have enough clocks to provide them for the normal number of players we have at our monthly events, so no need to worry about that. You can find the rules document we will be using for the clocks at this link: https://tinyurl.com/LonestarMalifauxClocks I will continue to be VERY liberal with my proxy policy for models from the Madness of Malifaux book which have rules released but not physical models (several have come in recently at Dragon’s Lair, so you can pick them up while you’re there!). Proxies for these models will be acceptable so long as they are on the correct base size and you inform your opponent in advance what the proxy model is representing. As always, painting is not required. If you’re not familiar with the amenities at Dragon's Lair they also have their Tabletop Tavern, so you can enjoy a beer while playing some Malifaux and have a tasty bite in between rounds! This event will be a three round, 50 Soulstone, fixed faction tournament utilizing the Malifaux 3rd Edition rules. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. Round 1 will begin as close to 12:00 PM as possible. Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux GT, October 13-15, 2023 Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy, Houston, TX 77070 The Biggest Malifaux event at the Biggest Gaming store in the Biggest City in the Biggest State in the lower 48! Do you have what it takes to wear the Biggest Hat? 3 days of Malifaux madness at the amazing Dragon’s Lair Houston! We had an amazing turn out for our inaugural year in 2022, in 2023 we’re going to make things even bigger and better! One way we’re doing this is by giving this custom Fate Deck to players who register by August 25th! https://lonestarfauxdown.com/events One ticket gets you access to all of the events taking place all three days! We start things off easy on Friday–whenever you get into town, come get checked in, grab a drink from the Tabletop Tavern, and catch up with old friends or make new ones over a friendly game with Malifaux Open Play all day long. Friday evening we start off our competitive events with the Houston Henchman Hardcore Hoedown! This event is a 30ss fixed list tournament using the Henchman Hardcore rules from latest Gaining Grounds packet! But don’t worry if you don’t get into town early enough to join in the fun, we will still have plenty of table space available for you to get in a pick up game–Dragon Lair’s gaming space is seriously massive! Saturday kicks off the main event–The Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux Grand Tournament! This 2-day event will be the biggest Malifaux event at the biggest gaming store in the biggest city in the biggest state in the lower 48! The Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux GT will be a 2-day, 50ss fixed faction event and will use the latest Gaining Grounds. Saturday evening we turn up the shenanigans with the Honeypot Casino Brawl, using the ever popular Bonanza Brawl format! Bring your favorite Non-Master to this battle royale brawl with an extra helping of shenanigans and a side of Karaoke! This fun, casual format is great for new players or players who want to socialize with a beer and a game of Malifaux. Sunday continues with the final rounds of The Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux Grand Tournament! When the dust settles on Sunday, will you be the one wearing the Biggest Hat? Hi and welcome to the Battle for the Breach, a two day, six round event over the weekend of August 26th and 27th and hosted at Element Games in Stockport. This event will be four and a half years in the making (after my last attempt of a two day event was cancelled due to covid) and the goal is for this event to be a staple in the UK Malifaux tournament calendar, providing an option for a weekend event that is accessible for the communities in the North West without too much travel while being accessible for people all over the country. The event itself will have 3 games on the first day, two on the second then awards and prizes. There will be a special trophy for the event winner and trophies for 2nd and 3rd as well as prizes for best painted, wooden spoon and most sporting player. There will also be medals for best in faction. Prizes are TBC but I will be reaching out to Wyrd and also the usual suspects who support within the UK. Numbers dependent will decide the level of swag and I do hope that attendance caters financially for me to offer the event exclusive things I have in mind. The event will be fully catered for both days and the cost is £40 for the event, as I am running 3 other events at Element Games this year I have created a tournament bundle for those wishing to attend all the events for £75 (a saving of £10 against buying individually), this will run until a short time before the first event. Payments can be made to my PayPal which is carl7lee@hotmail.com and please mark it as friends and family as well as putting this event in the notes. Element Games is an ideal venue within the UK for an event like this due to its good public transport links - it isn't for from Manchester Airport for any International visitors also within the UK Stockport is a short train journey from Manchester Piccadilly station. Stockport itself has a wide range of hotels including a Premier Inn across the road from Element Games (Premier Inn Stockport South). The Alma Lodge is another hotel a short walk away but if you have any questions about accommodation please do ask. As with most two day events I will plan on organising a social event on the Saturday evening. The initial cap on numbers is 32 but once that is hit there is the option to open capacity to 64. Las Vegas Open is one of the premier wargaming events in the country and Malifaux will once again be in the thick of it!!! LVO2023 takes places at the Rio Hotel and Casino Las Vegas Friday, January 26 through Sunday, January 29 and there are Malifaux events taking place all three days: The Malifaux Friday Fun Pass features the return of the popular Double or Nothing Team Tourney and Honeypot Casino Brawl as well as Open Play for anyone who didn't get in town early enough to jump into the team event! Saturday kicks off the main event with the return of the Fiendish Gamble GT!! Five rounds of Malifaux spread over two days and played on some of the best looking tables at all of LVO! There are still tickets available, so grab those tickets before they're all gone! https://www.lasvegasopen.net/ Full event details: Friday, January 27 Double or Nothing Team Tournament--Work together with your partner in a micro-crew environment to claim victory as part of the Team Tournament. Each player needs their own 10 SS M3E Crew (plus leader and totem). While having a teammate selected ahead of the event is preferable it is not required; we will do our best to get solo players matched up with a teammate. Leaders for each half of the team can be from different factions. Rare limits on models apply to the team as a whole. This event will use the Double Rush rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Three packet. Honeypot Casino Brawl--Bring your favorite non-master to this battle royale brawl! This fun, casual format is great for new players or players who want to socialize with a beer and a game of Malifaux. This event will use the Bonanza Brawl rules (a modified version of the All Out Brawl rules from the latest Gaining Grounds packet). Players need any one non-Master model with no upgrades and Cost 10 or less. Malifaux 3rd Edition Open Play and demos--Didn’t get into town in time to take part in the other events? Come and get in a pick-up game with another one of the other stragglers at one of our lovely tables! The Friday event packet can be viewed here Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29 Fiendish Gamble GT - Malifaux 3rd Edition 2 day Grand Tournament!--5 rounds of Malifaux spread over 2 days--battle it out to place on the podium, test your skills and compete in the Iron Scorpius, or HECK… go for both and prove you are the true Master of Malifaux! Fiendish Gamble is a 5 round, 50 soulstone fixed faction tournament. Players will declare their faction when they check in with the organizer on Saturday. We'll use the rules from Gaining Grounds as below.Players are expected to use official models when playing Malifaux as this facilitates the ease of understanding for that player's opponents. Proxy models are not allowed, though official “Counts as” models may be used. Refuge Gaming in Brunswick Ohio is hosting our first Gaining Grounds Season 2 Tournament on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Registration will begin at 9:30 am and first round will begin no later than 10:30 am. Event length will depend on the number of participants. This is a 50 SS, fixed faction event. Strategy and Scheme pools will be posted 1 week prior to the event and QR codes will be included in the Tournament Pack. Cost for the event is $10.00. Fees may be paid in advance by contacting us through the website or on the day of event. Participants "day pass" is included in the event cost. This is a competitive event however, beginners are welcome. Participants are encouraged to utilize the free M3e App to track games, those who do not must ensure their cards incorporate the latest erratas. Additionally, be sure to familiarize yourself with the current FAQ Document prior to arrival at the event. If you are planning to use the M3e App be sure it is updated prior to arrival at Refuge Gaming. All models must be assembled but, as per the Gaining Grounds document, painting is not required. Because there are several new unreleased models in M3E, proxies for these models will be acceptable so long as they clearly represent the model, are on the correct base size, and you inform your opponent in advance. Prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd places as well as the "Lanterne Rouge" Recipient. If there are more than 3 participants with "fully" painted legal crews a painting prize may be awarded. LVO2022 takes places at the Rio Hotel and Casino Las Vegas Friday, January 28 through Sunday, January 30 and there are Malifaux events taking place all three days: The Malifaux Friday Fun Pass features the return of the popular Double or Nothing Team Tourney and Honeypot Casino Brawl as well as Open Play for anyone who didn't get in town early enough to jump into the team event! Saturday kicks off the main event with the return of the Fiendish Gamble GT!! Five rounds of Malifaux spread over two days and played on some of the best looking tables at all of LVO! Leaders for each half of the team can be from different factions. Rare limits on models apply to the team as a whole. This event will use the Double Rush rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Honeypot Casino Brawl--Bring your favorite enforcer or minion to this battle royale brawl! This fun, casual play format is great for new players or players who want to socialize with a beer and a game of Malifaux. This event will use the All Out Brawl rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Players need any one non-Master, non-Henchman model with Cost 10 or less. This may be an Enforcer or Minion and up to one upgrade may be attached as part of hiring the model.
