  1. I'm relatively new to Malifaux, been playing for about 2 months but the game has inspired me to paint like never before. My first crew is a Leveticus crew with all the bells and whistles, and I'll post that up if I can get a decent shot of all of them. But for the past few weeks, I've been eagerly painting up the Nightmare Edition Dark Carnival box that my friend picked up from Adepticon 2016, plus a few in-theme extras (Angelica, Coryphee), and I'm really excited to share this here as my first ever post on the forums. Some models were more interesting to paint than others, but overall I
  2. I've got a Dark Carnival for trade on eBay. Please don't message me here, as I rarely get chance to check! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Malifaux-Limited-Edition-Dark-Carnival-Nightmare-Edition-box-set-Wyrd-Miniatures/332430075667?hash=item4d66606713:g:Hh0AAOSwke9Z9iQQ
  3. Well, I just ordered myself the Wild Ones, WooT! Wish I coulda' been to GenCon, but thank the Tyrants they have a webstore. Anyhoo, since my 2016 Nightmare crew is gonna be sitting on the shelf beside McCabe (who will probably never hit the table again in that incarnation), I think to myself, "Self, wouldn't it be nice to have The Dark Carnival sitting on the shelf next to Colette?" The answer; Yes it would! But it's not available for sale... So if anyone would like to sell me an unassembled Dark Carnival box, I'd really like to buy it. I Got the Scrip, in paypal, USD.
  4. So, I'm having issues deciding how I'm going to base a few of these models. Going for the easy Circus theme isn't so easy. I frankly don't know what to do with the flying monkeys or the hammer mannequin. For all the rest I've used some all purpose sand and some simple props. Mr Cooper is standing on the thing a ring master usually stands on. Mercury has a kettle bell at his feet that looks like one Louis Cyr might've used. Baritone Lola and Thin Lizzy are on two sides ofseesaw, with Lola on the high part. Sword Mannequin is balanced on a circus style ball. I thought the strength test would be
  5. So, I wasn't able to acquire a Dark Carnival set during GenCon, but I like the look and feel of them so much that I'm starting to hunt for a set to get (+The Crossroads 7 organ player...of course :D). A question I have: I keep seeing pics here and there of a 'Black Friday' Corphyee for Dark Carnival. Does that mean that that box will come out on... Black Friday? I don't know. And help you could give would be awesome. I'm also assuming (since I haven't seen them yet) that there aren't any pics of the CADs anywhere. Also, if anyone has a link to pics of basing ideas, or assembled painted DC, t
  6. I just popped open my Dark Carnival box to check out the sprues and cards and noticed a couple of things: First one of my mannequins swords was broken already, I'll have to glue that up, dang those things are thin! Second the stat cards are all kinds of different sizes. The printing looks fine but they are all cut to varying sizes vertically and horizontally. Does anyone else have this problem on their cards? It makes it so the cards don't all fit into sleeves the same, some are very loose, some don't fit at all.

  13. Okay, so: The Dark Carnival is coming out for GenCon, as a proxy crew for Colette's standard loadout (Colette, 3 Mechanical Doves, Cassandra, 2 Performers, and 2 Mannequins). We are getting a number of named models, themed after a circus troupe described in detail in the latest Wyrd Chronicles (images for the crew box are also in that issue). The Dark Carnival proxies as Colette, as mentioned above. I am not satisfied with that alone. What I have been tossing about as an idea both on this forum and on AWP is the idea of being amateur (or better!) devs and betatesters, all of us, and cr
