January Malifaux Monthly Tournament! First Texas Tourney of 2022! Date: Saturday, January 8, 2022 Start time: 11:00am Location: Dragon's Lair Houston North Address: 21151 State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070 It’s time once again for the monthly Malifaux Tourney at Dragon’s Lair Houston! Our tourneys throughout 2021 had great turnouts, so let’s kick off Lonestar Malifaux in 2022 with a bang! We're now booked for tournaments the 2nd Saturday of every month at Dragon's Lair so block out that day on your calendars in perpetuity! This event will be a three round, 50 Soulstone, fixed faction tournament utilizing the Malifaux 3rd Edition rules. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. Round 1 will begin as close to 12:00 PM as possible. Concerning the use of any of the new models and/or titles from the new “Malifaux Burns” book: As all of the stat cards from Malifaux Burns have been added to the crew builder app these models WILL be allowed for this tourney! All models must be assembled but as per the Gaining Grounds document painting is not required. As there are several new models in M3E that do not currently have models available, proxies for these models will be acceptable so long as they are on the correct base size and you inform your opponent in advance what the proxy model is representing. Hello Wyrdos! This summer my husband and I celebrated the culmination of many years of planning with the opening of our very own hobby and game store - we've been running a Malifaux escalation league since opening, and now feel ready to host our inaugural full-scale tournament on Saturday, November 27, 2021. If you're in the South/Central Ontario vicinity (or are willing to travel!) come visit us on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay! If you are from out of town, there are two hotels within walking distance from the store (https://www.choicehotels.com/en-ca/ontario/midland/quality-inn-hotels/cnb04 and https://www.choicehotels.com/en-ca/ontario/midland/comfort-inn-hotels/cn279) with several more accessible by car. $20.00 entry fee. Registration starts no later than 10:00am (doors open at 9:30) with the first round to start at 10:30. Prizing is via EHH Player Points that can be redeemed for items off our Prize Wall or converted to gift certificates, plus branded EHH swag. In addition, prizing will be granted by community vote to: Best Painted Crew Most Sportsmanlike Conduct Following Gaining Grounds Season 2 rules, and will be limited to 3 rounds. Rounds are capped at 1 1/2 hours each with an additional 15 mins for encounter setups. Warzone Houston is the largest miniature war gaming convention in Houston and this is the first year Malifaux will be a part of it with The Space City Malifaux GT running Saturday and Sunday! There are also more casual events on Friday and open gaming all weekend! Warzone Houston is taking place September 24 - 26 2021 at the Sam Houston Race Park Pavilion Center, in Houston, Texas One of my favorite things about this convention is that there is no general admission convention badge needed--all you need is a ticket for that day's Malifaux events to participate! Tickets can be purchased through the WarZone website or at the event itself (ticket sales will open in early June). Registering ahead of time guarantees your spot and helps the organizers plan ahead. We have three days of awesome Malifaux events planned for Warzone: Friday, September 24th Houston Horsetrack Henchman Hootenanny- There’s honestly no need to hold your horses another hour, it’s high time you hopped to it and high-tailed it to this hoedown! Join us for hilarity and hijinks--hex and harm the heartless harridans who hinder your heart’s honorable hopes. Will your heroic henchman hoist the highest honor or will your horrible hubris halt your hopes? Find out at the Houston Horsetrack Henchman Hootenanny! And of course it starts at high-noon! This event will use the Henchman Hardcore rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Racetrack Rumble- Bring your favorite enforcer or minion to this battle royale brawl! This fun, casual play format is great for new players or players who want to socialize with a beer and a game of Malifaux. This event will use the All Out Brawl rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Malifaux 3rd Edition Open Play- Didn’t get into town in time to take part in the events? Come and get in a pick-up game with another one of the other stragglers at one of our lovely tables (seriously, these are some great looking tables that you'll want to play on)!! Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, September 26th Space City Malifaux 3rd Edition 2 day Grand Tournament!- 5 rounds of Malifaux spread over 2 days--test your skills and compete in the Iron Scorpius or battle it out for placing top 3 or HECK… go for both and prove you are the true Master of Malifaux! The Space City Malifaux GT is a 5 round, 50 soulstone fixed faction tournament. Players will declare their faction when they check in with the organizer on Saturday. Scoring will follow the rules outlined in the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Registration is open today and will be open until the 29th. Like the Fauxvember event running now, this is 3 rounds, 50ss, singles event. Your place in this event will apply towards qualification to the World Championship invitational in the works for August 2021. Morning Faulx! I used to be on a competitively focused Malifaux Podcast centered in the PNW - we all took a break right around the launch of M3E, and are tentatively looking at getting back into the game. Obviously in-person events in the states are still a terrible idea, so none of that, but it would be really helpful to hear about what's doing well these days. I've read that Shenlong and Nekima were strong, but that they both received some targeted nerfs. I used to be a Sonnia Criid main, but I look at what they've done to my girl and despair. I see that Third Floor Wars started the national circuit, which is great, but I don't see a place that faction/master placements are tracked. So I guess I'm looking for what Masters are currently top dogs, and a brief explanation of why, and what factions.

The Georgia Malifaux team is finishing up our M3E grow league, and we're capping it off with a 3-round, 50ss, Gaining Grounds Season 0 tournament on Saturday, February 29. at Heroic Gaming in Roswell, Georgia (just north of Atlanta). All comers are welcome whether or not you participated in the league, and this will be a USFT event (assuming we reach the 8-player minimum, which we certainly expect to). Registration begins at 12:00 noon, and play begins at 12:30. Plenty of raffle prizes and fun to be had in a great new venue. $5 entry fee goes directly to store credit for winners. February Monthly Malifaux Tournament! Date: Saturday, February 1 , 2020 Start time: 11:00am Location: Dragon's Lair Houston North Address: 21151 State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070 Dragon's Lair Website It’s time once again for the monthly Malifaux Tourney at Dragon’s Lair Houston! We’ve had great turn outs for the monthly tournaments at Dragon’s Lair so far, so let’s keep the ball rolling in 2020! This event will be a three round, 50 Soulstone, fixed faction tournament utilizing the Malifaux 3rd Edition rules. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. Round 1 will begin as close to 12:00 PM as possible. All models must be assembled but the painting requirement is waived for this tournament. As there are several new models in M3E that do not currently have models available, proxies for these models will be acceptable so long as they are on the correct base size and you inform your opponent in advance what the proxy model is representing. Dead Man's Hand will be allowed in this tournament, but Dead Man's hand masters are limited to hiring models by keyword. This tournament will be making use of the new Gaining Grounds Season Zero document which may be found at: https://www.wyrd-games.net/s/GG_Season_0.pdf There is no painting requirement for this tournament. Entry fee is $10 and goes entirely to prize support.
