  1. Hey Guys and Gals, first of all I presume this is where I should post this if not is someone lets me know I can move it As much fun as I have had with him I am looking to sell my Marcus crew as well as some of the other Arcanists models I have, I would also be interested in trades in some cases for anything Perdita/McMourning or McCabe but will consider other crews. Due to me trying to save up for a car I would rather lose a crew and gain one rather than just keep adding and burning holes in my pockets so will consider all sensible offers this can be for individual models or bulk buys. All Models are unpainted although some are primed but can be stripped upon request and successful sale. CARDS INCLUDED. All models have also been put on very nice scenic bases but can be removed and sent with the original plastic bases if preferred. Marcus Jackalope 3x Molemen 2x Waldgeists 3x Silurids 1x Razorspine Rattler 1x Slate Ridge Mauler 1x Blessed of December 2x Hoarcat Prides 1x Decembers Acolyte 1x Joss 4x Night Terrors 1x Shikome Get asking and tell any friends you might think want to pick up this offer I will be very fair. Posting on here is fine or PM me. Mr. Soulstone
  2. Is Huggy a valid selection for framed for murder? If so does it matter if you bring him back after the fact? Also if you flip the Ace of Masks for intiative does that counted as a 1 or a Red Joker. I had this happen twice in 1 game.
  3. I'm playing a Neverborn vs Guild Brawl, with Dreamer & Pandora vs Justice & Criid. Pandora has effectively pacified every model that has yet to activate! Leaving only activated guild models left as targets. What now? And if she pacifies the activated guild models and has no Legal Targets. What then? Thanks. ---------- Post added at 05:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ---------- Side Note: (0) Pacify: Target model unaffected by Incite or Pacify within 12" performs a Wp - Wp Duel with this model. If target model loses, it must activate after any other model in its Crew which has not been affected by Pacify. If this model wins the Wp duel, it may choose to take the Pacify Action again this activation.
  4. Hello all, I've gotten into a discussion with a pal of mine and we have come to the conclusion that, if put on the base properly (read: with the model leaning forward), Tuco Ortega would look like Michael Jackson in his "Smooth Criminal" attire if painted the right way. Being that my Tuco is leaning like that because the glue I used for Tuco was terribad (and will not be used in lieu of a lack of Krazy Glue, which I usually use), I have decided, for the sake of whatever, to paint him in such a fashion. Is this unprecedented? If not, can somebody showcase any MJ-inspired models, especially any Tucos that may have arisen from similar discussions? Thanks all! ~Lil Kalki
  5. Ok so I'm fairly new to Malifaux, but I've played enough games to know I hate playing against Collodi. I've bought Lazarus, with the thought that his blasts could be particularly handy against a group of marionettes. But just looking at Collodis info in the book I noticed his (1) action A Puppets Soul doesn't specify "friendly". Am I right in saying that Collodi's "Perfect Machine" means that my opponent can stop me assimilating "A Puppets Soul" and sacrificing his dolls for my own gain? I know I'm probably answering my own question, but just wanted to make sure before I ruled it out as a tactic. Cheers
  6. The Iron Quill: In the Dark of the Knight – Mask of Blood A sea of Masks as far as one could see. A sight not common to anyone, save for that of a person in a Masquerade. Felix had no real clue as to whom the costumed party was for. He was a thief. What mattered was the score, not the specifics. He was told to find one of the gifts being handed off this evening; a beautiful soulstone necklace known as The Doll’s Heart. He assumed the celebration was for one of the short little brats scampering around, giggling nonstop. There was a time that Felix would have felt differently about children. Once upon a time he was a single parent, raising a beautiful daughter. April. He’d named the child after her mother, who had succumbed during birth. Felix had taken up work in the mines to support her, leaving April in the care of neighbors during his shifts. It was on one of those returns from a shift, that the worst possible news was given to him. April had gone with some friends to see a traveling puppet show, and she had never returned. Felix had been a thief before his life with April. Her disappearance heralded his return to his life of crime. Only this time, Felix was much more bitter in spirit. His once brighter, wittier demeanor gone, and in it’s place the dark heart of a cynic. He was colder, worked for whomever paid highest, and cared only for himself. He’d stopped looking for April years ago. Now his only interest was to buy his freedom out of Malifaux. Get as far away from the rift, and return to New Amsterdam. This last job would secure his way out. The party’s attention was shifted to the stage in the grand ballroom. The children seemed most excited. The Master of Ceremonies begun to call out loudly for all’s attention. A marionette show, for all to see. Felix shuddered. Puppets were a thing he hated. It made him think of the past. Of things that threatened tears to swell to his eyes. Make him think of a little blonde haired girl with emerald eyes. He took the crowd’s shift in attention as a chance to abscond with his employer’s prize. However, he would have to make educated guesses as to what gift was the necklace. It was said to be small, and a brilliant blood red heart shaped soulstone on a golden chain. Simple and elegant. As he scanned the brightly packaged boxes from behind his mask, he could hear the laughs and applause from the audience. He removed the mask on his face, to wipe his brow. The mask in his hands was rather dull. A crude full-face depiction of a smiling crescent moon. Felix placed the moon back over his own face and looked back at the presents on the gift table. He noticed a necklace case covered in a red ribbon and bow to match. With a quick glance to see if any were looking, Felix snatched up the box and tore the ribbon from it. Upon opening it, he knew he had chose correctly. His ticket out of Malifaux. The Doll’s Heart. He placed the case in his breast pocket. He knew he was in the clear. The job couldn’t be easier. So with nothing more to fear, Felix assumed his role of a party go-er once more, and turned to make an exit, near the stage right door. He could hear loud applause and cries of “encore!” as he made his way out. Perfect timing on his part. None were the wiser. He slipped into the dark back alley behind the grand hall where the party was being held. Passing the Puppet Show’s carriage, a strange dilapidated vehicle that gave him chills, and stopped to breathe a sigh of relief. He took a rest against the cold damp alley wall. Then he felt a sharp pain in his left ankle. Felix yelped and reeled back from the bricks looking down at what could have possibly hurt him. Perhaps a nail jutting from a board or some broken glass? As he stared down at the spot where he’d been, all he saw was a single Marionette. It had blonde hair, and emerald green eyes, in the tortured visage of a sweet little girl he once knew. It was grinning up at him with jagged teeth, and held up one blood covered clawed hand. Felix let out a scream and tried to run, but his ankle gave out. Pain rocketed up his side, causing another yelp of agony to escape his lips. Felix began to crawl away from the devil image of his lost daughter. Digging down through his frock to grasp the single dagger he kept to defend himself. However, to his horror, another little stringed puppet stood ahead of him, and a third to his left, and a fourth to his right. He was surrounded by clawed, evil looking daemon dolls. Then the single most blood chilling sight of horror that he could ever lay eyes on came before him in the blink of an eye, and the sound of repelling wires. A four armed, jester masked man whom seemed to be made of wood himself. Red glowing eyes glared down at Felix as the hell spawned puppet master reeled in his Marionettes so that they stood before Felix. Each one with glowing eyes, looking like devil automaton children in this puppeteer’s grasp. Felix lay there on the alley floor, quaking for what felt like eons before he heard a voice. The crinkled old voice of the very old hag who had hired him to do this job. “Dear, dear Felix. Don’t you feel the twang of familiarity from that little blonde puppet?” The old crone asked, seemingly from nowhere. “A coincidence! A dream! It can’t be real!” Felix sobbed. “There are no coincidences.” The hag’s voice chuckled. As if acting on the old woman’s unheard and unseen signal, the Puppeteer, and the Marionettes, were upon Felix. His screams echoed from the alley walls as the sounds of flesh being torn from bone filled the darkness. It was less than an hour later when a couple had stumbled upon what remained of poor Felix. Soon, Guild Guards had secured the area, and investigations begun. Felix was easily identified. He’d been wearing a mask, which was stained a deep sanguine, and whoever had killed him had left his face alone because of the grinning moon mask. The rest of him had not fared as well. Anything below the shoulder was bloody ribbons. What was the most puzzling fact, was the blonde haired and emerald eyed little Marionette Puppet that lay next to Felix. It wore a little green dress, and was rather cute, save the clawed hands and jagged teeth. It also had a knife buried in it’s forehead. Felix was a wanted thief in Malifaux. It seemed only fitting that his death be met in it’s back alleys. However, a gift of some importance had been stolen from the Governor General’s Niece’s birthday ball. While Felix was clearly the culprit, the soulstone necklace known as The Doll’s Heart was still unaccounted for. A gold chain and necklace box had been found amongst the grisly pool of blood and scraps of flesh, but the heart shaped soulstone was nowhere to be found. It was in the clutches of the Hag, Zoraida as she rode out of the city in the back of the traveling puppet show’s wagon. Smiling a crooked grin as she and her accomplice, Collodi, made their escape. To Zoraida, it seemed only fitting to enlist the help of Collodi, who had stolen Felix’s daughter years earlier. It was humorous to her to bring about the man’s death at the hands of the creation Collodi had made with Felix’s daughter. In addition, the Doll’s Heart was in her clutches once again. Two birds with one stone. For such a small piece of ether, it held great power within. She could feel it, and she knew the terrors she would wreak upon the outsiders with it.
  7. I'm new here, but not new to the hobby I've started Malifaux this week, and have no idea of how the game works... yet I chose Neverborn as my "Faction"?, and here's what i got at the moment What do you think zKoTTe/Morten
  8. This came up today while playing with a stitched together. - Use Gamble your Life - WP vs WP duel - I lose the duel - I flip for damage against the stitched together and flip moderate damage - I cheat it down to weak The question came up was that should my opponent be the one flipping for damage if I lose Gamble your Life WP duel or since it's my ability I am flipping for damage against myself, giving me the ability to cheat it down. Thanks!
  9. With Perdita's ability see the unseen.... Can Pandora even touch Perdita with any spell???
  10. It's been awhile since my last post (working on belle zombies) just got my Lilith avatar Wednesday and I'm working on it. This will be fun. Now I finish putting it together and prime it so it is ready to paint I might have it done this weekend. Here are some pic of what i done so far.
  11. Well my Lilith crew finally arrived and I've wasted no time in getting stuck in. After a hefty amount of cleaning, gluing, cursing (damn you Nekima's horns, why u no stay on!?) I've finally started painting. Rather than wait until they're all done to post, this will be a thread to post my Lilith crew as it grows (wink wink nod nod) painted model by painted model. For now, all I have to offer are my ickle Terror Tots - so cute you'll want to give them a hug. Something you'll immediately regret as they rip your face off and drink your blood. You were warned!
  12. I've recently got Nekima and whilst I've had fun with her in games I've found building her to be... frustrating. Everything is fine except for those DAMN HORNS! They keep falling off. So I had an idea. Lilith has no horns and she's the leader of the Nephilim. Why? If Nekima is her sister, it could make sense from a fluff persepctive (aka excuse) to not have them. So do you think it will work? It'll require a bit of slicing and dicing and green stuff. Any particular modelling equipment which might make things easier, or can I just stick with my clippers, knife, file and green stuff? Or would it just look stupid?
  13. Hey everyone, I recently stumbled on Adrian from Aethervox / Rathnar's picture of "Neverdita" and love it. So much so, I'd like to use the same colours he used for her hair and skin for my Lilith model. I have tweeted him but in case he doesn't reply (celebrities always get so many tweets they can't respond to them all!) I was wondering if anyone here could offer some advice on which paints (preferably GW) I could use to achieve my goal. For reference, the picture is here: https://twitter.com/Dranthar/status/200951264643776512/photo/1/large
  14. Well I'm here asking yet another nooby question about Neverborn, in preparation for my crew's arrival. My question is this: Does Nekima's Nephilim Heart allow her to give a +:masks Ca to Terror Tots so it counts as an additional :masks for the casting total of Sprint? e.g. Nekima grants a nearby Tot +:masks Ca. It casts Sprint and gets a 6:rams. However because Nekima used Nephilim Heart, the tot has a :masks from his base Ca and another from Nekima, allowing it to move 10". Is this possible?
  15. Okay, so I haven't actually played Lilith yet so this may come off as a rather noobish question. I'm actually a Guild player at the moment (I know, booooooooh! Filthy humans) however as I'm also new I haven't found a Master I want to "associate" myself with just yet. I've been looking into Lilith and it's all been very appealing. The synergy, the growth (although I'm not a growth list person, at least mentally) and the models (HELLOOOOOOOOO Nekima!). I have a question of tactics though: Say I have a BBS and a Terror Tot. How viable is it to run a Tot into combat with several models and use the Shaman's Spill Black Blood spell on the Tot? My thoughts are: 1) You get blood tokens if you kill the enemy models, and one from the Tot. 2) You get to move nearby Tots to the Shaman, who has 1 or more blood tokens which they can use to evolve. This should be relatively easy, as you can use the Shaman's Blood In The Air to push the Nepehilim even closer to him, allowing them to be in a decent range for Growth or Mature. I ask as it is sacrificing a Nephilim. You can of course use the blood counter for other things, this is just what came to mind first. Is it a good idea, or a needless sacrifice of a Terror Tot?
  16. Greeting from Chicago. Caught the Malifaux bug at Adepticon after doing some demo's. I picked up the Guild and Neverborn. I'm in the city and looking to play some games at either Dice Dojo or G+. Looking forward to meeting the Chicago players. Best, Mike
  17. Frontier Justice Henry Banes turned the key in the door lock to close the shop for the night. A sigh escaped unexpected from his lips like the last puff of steam from cooling boiler. It had been a long day. He then went from lamp to lamp in the shop reducing the gas lights to a dim glow. The shop was a tidy affair, just over 12 feet wide but running nearly 100 feet deep. It was typical frontier construction, almost everything, floors, walls, counters and shelves, were built from the native wood of the area. One expensive pane of glass for the front window was hand painted in block letters, BANES MERCHANTILE. Henry caught a glimpse of movement through the glass. He peered through the darkened store to the dusty street outside. He could see the outline of the buildings on the other side of the street. But as the town of Sharp Pass didn’t have any street lights, the street was indistinct in the gathering gloom. If anything had been out there, it was gone now. The only sound was tinny piano music and the murmur of voices from The Imperial saloon down at the end of the street. All the respectable businesses had closed for the night. Henry made his way past the shelves stacked with clothing, mining tools, camp supplies and weapons. He paused to consider a small display box which contained “artifacts” he had taken in trade from the miners. He had the usual assortment of small glass jars and vials which were commonly found in ruins, a few metal buttons, a small stone statue which may have been a hoarcat, and his newest addition, a broach or medallion. It was made of gold strands of wire twisted around one another to make a rope. The rope was twisted as well into a circle. Each strand of wire had very tiny letters engraved all along it, most impossible to see without a magnifying glass. The entire thing was about the size of a man’s palm. By the weight of the gold alone, it was the most valuable thing in the case, possibly in the entire store. A young miner had brought it in. He was wild eyed and was only interested in trading it and a few other meager possessions for enough money to get a ticket back to Earthside. Henry had seen his type before. They came with dreams of making a fortune, only to have those dreams shattered by the harsh reality of Malifaux. “Of all the shops in all of Malifaux, why do the charity cases always find mine?” He wondered aloud. Of course, this one hadn’t been a charity case as the medallion would turn a tidy profit with the right buyer. He continued to the back of the store and then up the stairs to his apartment and storeroom above. Like most of the inhabitants of Sharp Pass, he lived where he worked. Only the truly rich could afford a separate house. Henry finished his evening meal and was just preparing to get into bed when he heard a wild galloping of horses down the street. He ran to the small upstairs window and peered out into the darkened street. He could see six riders galloping past in the light from The Imperial, the lead rider had dark hair billowing out behind her like a war banner. The second rider bore a huge sword on his back. The remaining riders all appeared to be carrying… coffins? “Oh Hell! Death Marshalls!” Henry rocked back on his heels as if their passing had created a gust of wind which blew through the closed window. The riders disappeared out of town into the inky night. Henry stood blinking after them, chewing his lower lip in thought. He thought of the times he had ridden hell bent for leather with a six gun on his hip and how it usually turned out. Then he turned, still in his nightshirt, and rushed downstairs. From the back of the store, he hoisted the heavy iron grill which would fit into the frame of his front window. He had it made nearly a year ago, but as nothing much ever seemed to happen in Sharp Pass, he had gotten out of the habit of locking it into place every night. Tonight suddenly seemed like a good night to get back into the habit. Sweat broke out on his forehead has he took small steps to the front of the store bearing the heavy grill. He nearly had the grill in place when a small head popped up to peer in over the sill of the window. Henry dropped the grill in surprise which landed squarely on his bare foot. “Yeow!!!” screeched Henry yanking his foot out and dancing around on one leg while holding his throbbing foot in his hands. He danced around for a couple of minutes before the pain subsided enough from more rational thought. What had he seen? “I’ll be damned if that didn’t look like a child’s rag doll peeping in.” He looked out into the night. There was nothing moving except for a ground fog which was rolling into town. The lights of The Imperial were surrounded by glowing halos and the outlines of the buildings across the street were blurred. “Oh, this just keeps getting better and better.” He muttered. He hoisted the grill into place and slid the locking bolts home. He considered getting the door key and checking outside the store front, but decided against it. “This ain’t the night for opening doors, that’s for sure.” On his way back upstairs, he paused by the displace case and picked up the gold medallion. “I think you need to be put away for safe keeping.” He dropped the medallion into the pocket of his night shirt. He then made a second stop by the gun rack. He considered the glimmering six shooters in the dim gas light. “I ain’t like that anymore.” he muttered and looked up to the long arms standing along the wall. Henry selected a used double barrel shotgun with exposed hammers and a dark oak stock. Flipping the release, the weapon broke and Henry pulled two 00 shotgun shells from the shelf and thumbed them into the breach. Then grabbing a handful of four or five more shells he dropped them into his nightshirt pocket which caused the shirt to sag terribly on one side. Satisfied, he headed back upstairs, propped the shotgun by his bed, set the shells on the night stand, and blew out the light. Henry sat bolt upright in bed. He heard the sound of wood squealing as it was bent and the sharp cracks as individual boards and beams gave way under pressure. He grabbed the shotgun and hurried to the stairs. Staring down into the dimly lit store, at first he saw nothing but then a piece of wood went skittering across the floor from the back of the store. Turning to look, he saw a massive shape pushing through the wall. It wasn’t attacking the wall, it was simply pushing through it with massive strength causing the wood to bend and break. Henry thumbed back both hammers on the shotgun, took aim at what must be the head and cut loose with both barrels. The roar of the shotgun with deafening in the small shop and a satisfyingly large chuck of the creature disappeared into a gooey mist. But the creature didn’t stop. If anything, it increased its pushing and more boards broke away allowing it to swing a massive leg into the shop. Henry ran through a quick mental checklist: Not human: check Really strong: check Immune to having its head blown into the next town: check Conclusion: Time to go! He paused to consider putting on his pants just long enough to hear the whole back wall of the shop collapsing, ran to the night stand, scooped the five shotgun shells back into his nightshirt pocket, and went to the front upstairs window. From what he could see, the street was empty, but with the fog, anything could be lurking down there. He opened the window, lowered the shotgun as far as he could then let it drop, stock first, to the street. He then turn around and went through the windows legs first lowering himself as far as he could by holding onto the sill before dropping to the street. His wounded foot screamed in agony as it hit. Henry briefly saw stars before his eyes. Shaking his head to clear his vision, he looked for the shotgun. A rag doll was heaving the stock onto its cloth shoulder and trying to drag the heavy gun away. Henry lurched toward it and grabbed the barrel of the gun. The little doll clung to the stock and sounded as if it growled at him. Henry paused to consider the doll, but only for a moment. He then swung the shotgun by the barrel and with a snap of his wrist at the end of the swing sent the little doll sailing down the street out of sight. Crashing sounds from inside the shop brought Henry back from enjoying his small victory. Glancing down the street, there were no lights at The Imperial. It must be really late. He began to hobble in that direction anyway. If there were people around, that is where he would be most likely to find them. Also, the doll was somewhere in the other direction. Two empty shells dropped to the street and Henry checked to make sure both barrels were clear before thumbing two fresh rounds into the breach. If any of his neighbors had heard the commotion, they had the good sense to stay inside and out of sight. Snap, snap, click, snap, snap, click and both hammers were drawn back on the old gun. He reached The Imperial and rattled the front door, but it was locked up tight. Faint noises of destruction could still be heard from the direction of his shop. He raised a hand to pound on the door and yell to be let in when he caught sight of a darker shadow in the mist. It was roughly human shape but walked with a strange side to side motion. Henry lifted the shotgun to his shoulder. Another shadow appeared to the left of the first and seconds later, a third appeared on the right. With the darkness and fog they weren’t more than 15 feet away but still indistinct. Henry froze hopping the deeper shadow around the doorway would conceal him from this new threat. As the nearest figure came closer, Henry could make out leathery skin that glimmered in the dim light, glassy eyes and fins. Just as it appeared they would pass by, the nearest one turned toward him and hissed. All three turned on him. “Ok Henry,” he said aloud, “three bad guys and two shells, a plan would be nice about now.” They edged closer, webbed claws extended toward him. Just as Henry was about to take his shots and hope to fight off whatever was left, a cracked voice rang out in the night. “Give my servants the amulet and you can go, yes go and be bothered no more.” The voice sounded female and old, but muffled by the fog, it could have been coming from anywhere. Henry used his cheek to steady the shotgun he held against his shoulder with his left hand while he slowly took his right hand and fished in his pocket. Rattling around with the three remaining shells was the loop of gold. He pulled it out and held it up beside the shotgun which was still pointed at the center creature. The creature extended a claw palm up to receive the golden thing. As he held it, his mind was in turmoil. He was loath to part with the amulet, especially under threat. But certainly his life was worth more than this ancient hunk of gold, no matter how finely it was wrought. The urge to obey the voice began to win out. The voice called again, “Fate is not with you tonight, give it up and live another day.” His arm extended holding the amulet between thumb and forefinger to drop it into the outstretched claw. Before his eyes, the ropes of wire seemed to twist and bend. Suddenly recognizable letters gleamed silver in the night. They spelled: “I C A N H E L P.” Henry blinked. I… can… help? Oh. OH. His hand stopped inches from the claw. The compulsion to give up the medallion faded. With the certainly of a man who takes that next drink knowing he’ll regret it in the morning, he dropped the amulet into his own palm and closed his fist on it. The first barrel of the shotgun boomed in the night. At that range, he could not miss the creature standing before him and knocked it back into the fog. Rotating left with the recoil, Henry unloaded the second barrel into that hapless creature still standing with claws outstretched but apparently shocked by the sudden disappearance of its friend. With the recoil the barrel was a little high so instead of hitting the thing’s chest, the shot blew its head clean off. The headless body flopped on the ground. The third creature recovered and lunged for him. Its claws grabbed Henry’s shoulders and drew him toward an open mouth full of needle sharp teeth. Damn it was fast! If they had all jumped him instead of waiting to be handed the medallion, he would already have been dead. Henry’s dropped the shotgun and punched both fists into the thing's chest to push it back. The left fist had little impact, but the right was another story. The fishy flesh popped and sizzled under his right fist. The creature jumped back with a hiss of pain, its claws clutching at the blackened imprint of a fist on its chest. It glared balefully at Henry then leapt away and out of sight. Henry opened his right hand in amazement. The medallion lay in his palm. Glowing symbols lit up the bottom half and at two points in the upper half. It looked like a smiley face. The old woman’s voice called out again, “Fool, you have no idea the powers you trifle with.” Henry picked up the shotgun, opened the breach, checked the barrels and slid in two fresh shells from his pocket. He lifted the gun to his shoulder and swung in arc looking for the old woman. He didn’t see her, but caught a glimpse of movement down and to the left. Focusing on it, he saw the little rag doll trying to sneak up on him with a wickedly long hat pin clutched in its tiny hand. He fired one barrel at point blank range. The doll disappeared in a poof of stuffing. A screech of rage pierced the night and made Henry’s skin crawl. The door flew off his shop and the massive creature he has seen before lumbered into the street. He could just make out its glowing green eyes in the fog. Henry reloaded the spent barrel with his last shell. If two shotgun shells at close range hadn’t even slowed it down before, he wasn’t sure how much good it was going to do now. He sighted down the twin barrels and noticed he could see the creature more clearly. He paused and glanced about. It was getting lighter. The sun was coming up. A breath of wind tore at the fog, shredding it. And suddenly like a veil lifting, Henry somehow knew the danger had passed. The monster before him melted away leaving a puddle of ooze in the middle of the street. Little wisps of fluff blew past his feet. The bodies of the two creatures he killed still lay nearby but they seemed less frightening in the growing light. The sound of pounding hooves caused him to spin about but he lowered his shotgun at the sight of the red hair battle standard. The cavalry had arrived. As casually as he could, he pocketed the medallion as the posse slowed to a walk and rode up to him. Two of the death marshals dismounted with their coffins in tow and went to check the creatures lying in the street. The man with the huge sword on his back was wearing a mask and goggles. “It appears you had some excitement.” He stated in a gravelly voice. Henry blinked at the statement of the obvious. The two bodies had disappeared into the coffins. The man continued, “Any idea what they were after?” The woman with the mane of red hair was turning her blindfolded face left and right as if examining every detail of the town. Henry gestured toward the coffins, “Those critters never said.” The man’s face was unreadable due to the mask and goggles, but his body language radiated dissatisfaction. “You know more than that, I am sure. Interfering with a Guild investigation is punis…” The lady interrupted him with a raised hand. “Judge, can’t you see this man has already had a difficult night.” She turned to face Henry, “Take care of yourself Mr. Banes, there are things in the night scarier than the Guild. But I guess you already know that. If you wish to discuss this further, leave word at any Guild office that you need Justice.” She turned her mount away from town. The two death marshals leapt on their horses, coffins in tow. “And Mr. Banes, you really should put some pants on...” With a slight smile on her lips, she rode out of town, red mane streaming. Henry scratched his head as he limped back to the shop to see what could be salvaged, “How did she know my name?” he wondered aloud.
  18. Something that's come up in a couple of games recently: how does Lilith's Whirling Death work against models she can't target? The ability says to make a strike against every model in 2", but the strike rules say to declare a target. If I can't target a model due to some effect does the Whirling Death ignore them? This has also come up when making strikes against models where she doesn't have LoS: say through another model.
  19. The effigy dolls, is there any place to get the cards for them? I don't have the 3rd book and would really like to know if theirs access to them anywhere. I haven't found any yet I really enjoy Collodi, but I like shiney new stuff too. So I wanna try him with the ressurectionist, guild and neverborn effigies. Plus the weaver widow. I'm a huge fan of xenomorphs and the concept of the weaver widow amuses me endlessly. But I like the puppet show too much... she can wait a bit. On the note of the weaver widow, anyone know of any good miniatures I could substitue in for a giant manniquen in place of teddy? I gotta ask you Neverborn players too, how many of you would like to see Collodi become a full fledged master? I understand the chances of that happening are very little and its more just semi wishing for it for the sake of doing so. But I read so many posts about how situational Collodi is, or that theirs better models for the points for what he does but I don't see it! I regularly face Viks, Rasp, and Colette and I do fine most the time. Games in which I don't its cause I do something really dumb. If I'm awake enough to play, Its always real close if its not in my favor. Last game I played, Lilith died turn 2 (my own mistake, unfortunately) But I didn't really miss her all that much. Most games seem to go like for me with him, I've tried him with Zorida like most people, and she feels tacked on. Most games she doesn't even get to move. (granted I know how much her voodoo doll can wreak havok and thats why but) and I switched over to Lilith just have a master that suits my playstyle a little better, but she still feels like the "Henchmen" and Collodi the master. It may just be my gaming group, but I regularly am ok against pretty much everyone with collodi's crew. I wouldn't even take a master but I'm lacking in the Wicked Dolls and I have a shiny Killjoy/Convict Gunslinger that begs to be used. So after helping someone pick up neverborn and start off with Collodi, I decided to post this rant. Sorry if its a bit unseamly, but honestly, I don't need to ask many questions on here because of the search fuction, so I don't get the chance to post much cause I don't really need too. So anyway, back on topic... anyplace to get the effigy cards beyond using the book?
  20. I've been perusing the range of models done by Smog 1888, all of them are amazing! Most are far too large to be of any use in a game of Malifaux but one caught my eye and I immediately thought of Zoraida. This model looks far more like the original Zoraida and honestly I much prefer the feel of this one. http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=smx_smo_whl_ess_111_000
  21. black blood from the rising powers book reads "all non-neverborn models within 1" suffer 1 WD when this model suffers damage from a strike or melee spell. My question is, if a Performer's attack (0/0/1 poison2) does weak damage on a terror tot, does it take 1 wd from the attack?
  22. An interesting situation arose in a game the other day and I just want to confirm that I have the ruling correctly. Stitched Together activates Spider Swarm Paralyzes Stitched and kills it with the overwhelm trigger Does not die goes off leaving the Stitched in play Stitched gains reactivate as part of does not die Can the stitched be "killed" again to grant it reactivate? I ruled it as no since I remember a thread http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21036 that stated models gain do not reactivate after the reactive. -Heretic
  23. Hello, This is my first post on these forums. I come looking for comments and criticism on my LCB conversion. It is now in the final stages with just some minor touch-ups before I'll consider him done. The few things I know are left are the nose, which I'm having problems getting to look "right" since it needs to be done in such a small space due to his extra eyes, and the upper claws, which i recently cut down a bit. I might also smooth out the sculpting on his tail a bit. So feel free to tell me what you think! (Ideas for the base also most welcome) Time to shut up and post some pics! Front: Back: Side: More to come.
  24. Hello everyone! I recently got into Malifaux, and this is my first attempts in painting miniatures in a long time. Back in '89 I did paint some BattleTech miniatures, but putting on some camo schemes on boxy robots is easy compared to doing human figures. I did restart my painting with the Ice Golem since it was an easy mental picture to transition over from robots to the golem. Once I get around to painting the rest of Rasputina's starter box I will put up pictures of the golem. So Zoraida ended up being my second completed painted miniature since Milli Vanilli was popular... Blame it on the Rain... I went with the voodoo doll idea and pinned some of the faction colored dolls on a nice twig that looked naturally like a dead tree. I probably should have put the Neverborn doll up on the tree in order to not have the purple sort of blend in together. However, in person the purple on the doll is much richer, while Zoraida's skirt has a muddied appearance. I also decided to make a ball of string and put a couple of pins in it to give her a bit of a Moirae feel (I might throw in Kirai's shears to reinforce that image later). The base is covered with Skullcrafts winter leaf mix scatter. The back of the miniature I thought looked rather plain, so I took one of the dolls and mounted it just off the rim of the base so it looks like it is trying to run away. Overall, I feel happy with the results. I learned some lessons that I can apply to my other projects. I hope you enjoyed my vision for Zoraida. Next up are Stitched Togethers.
  25. Premiere! My first Malifaux Miniature is accomplished. see other projects in my blog below
