  1. Hi, I'm probably missing something or reading something into nothing but; In Henchman Hardcore, do you pay for the Henchman? In a normal game the master is for free and in their difference in power level is (somewhat) managed through their cache. But henchmen have a cost, and a pool that is normally is ignored. I've read through the latest alternate formats document but I don't see anything mentioned about it but I might just be overlooking it. Thanks in advance!
  2. Everyone is welcome to the Henchman Hardcore tournament at Geek Wars Paveletskaya! All the details here: https://vk.com/geekwars?w=wall-88141179_10539 If you have any questions don't hesitate to write me here or on Facebook www.facebook.com/buntman See you on Saturday!
  3. I met with some friends tonight to practice for a Henchman Hardcore event this upcoming Friday. None of us have played in awhile, so it's a relatively new format for us and we wanted to feel it out and get ready for the event. I chose Guild and in my two practice games, I tied one and won the other. Here's the list... Leader: The Judge Francisco Death Marshall Wastrel Upgrades: Revenge Bullet + Wade In on Francisco In both games, my crew was super shooty, able to move forward and open up with a volley immediately. I liked this quite a bit. In the first game, Francisco would activate and give El Mayor to The Judge every round. The Death Marshall ended up going out front to draw attention and then I ultimately used Francisco's 1 AP tactical action to move forward and move it back 5". He got off a single Ml action for quite a bit, but got killed after that. The Wastrel helped keep everyone else alive and the game went 5 rounds ending in a tie. Oh, and he was playing a Kang crew with 2x Low River Monk and a Dawn Serpent. Second game was excellent. I was going up against a Dr. Grimwell crew and my combo went off. I rushed forward, used Pine Box on Dr.. Grimwell, and then used El Mayor on him every turn to make sure I won Wp goals. It was pretty incredible. I was able to break down the team without having to worry about their Henchman. Anyway, I want to ask everyone for their thoughts and any suggestions they might have. Thanks!

  15. So I have recently started using henchman hardcore (minus the time limit) to teach new players at my local game store. It is an easy format to pick up and gives new players a taste of all the necessary rules of play. I have a few questions concerning lists though, and my search of the internet has provided contradicting answers. First: can you have more than one henchman? I have seen lists with rusty alice leading and taelor as a hire or mortimer and sebastian. Is this allowed? Second: what are the rules for hiring 0 cost models? Can you or is that against the rules?
  16. Anyone using any wave 4 in their henchman hardcore lists? I was thinking of throwing in an Iron Skeeter. Do over could really go on anyone. It's just extra card draw for when I drop my franc bomb on someone.
  17. Come join us Saturday February 25th at Games U in Mesa, AZ for a day of magnificent Malifaux action. 18. Hey! this will be my first event as a henchman so i figured having it be henchman hardcore was thematic! Location: Mox Boarding House Address: 13310 Bel-Red Rd, Bellevue, WA 98005 If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by email: Jake.vincent@live.com Start time: 6 PM Entry fee: 5$ Rounds: 4 Round length: 45 minutes (10-15 minute leeway for food/breaks) Event type: Henchmen Hardcore This event will be capped at 16 people below is a link to preregistration if you want to insure a spot! https://www.moxboardinghouse.com/events/malifaux-henchman-hardcore-tournament/ Prizes will be awarded on standing at the end of the night and some random giveaways will happen during the event as well. A Henchman Hardcore is different from standard Malifaux in the following ways:- All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master.- The game size is 20 Soulstones.- All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. It's a tiny party.- Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux.- The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded.- Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” .
  19. Hello everyone! At noon on January 21st, 2017 in Altoona Pennsylvania, will be holding a Henchman Hardcore and Enforcer Brawl at Snake Eyes Gaming. There will be no entry fee, and prizes will be given out at the end of the day in a raffle. Players are not required to play in both events (or even all three rounds of the HH), although it will increase their likelihood to win prizes. This is intended to be a low key event for both competitive and new players alike. The Henchmen Hardcore event is different from normal Malifaux events, and is a great way for newer players to jump into the game. The event will be three rounds, and rounds will last 30 minutes (the event might become four rounds if attendance is high enough). Some notable distinctions: - All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master (your henchman is free, like a master). - The game size is 20 Soulstones. - All Crews must contain EXACTLY 4 models, no more, no less. - Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. - The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. - Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). - Only one Scheme will be available. - The same Crew must be used in each round of the event (so choose wisely). The Enforcer Brawl works differently as well, and will take place after the HH tournament has concluded. In short, each player will select one enforcer of their choice and attach a legal upgrade from their faction to it. Enforcers must have a cost to be played. Then, all players will brawl on the same table, playing for 6 turns, gaining and losing points as they destroy other enforcers or lose their own. More information regarding scoring can be found in the 2016 Gaining Grounds document. If you need more information, please contact me (Tyler Mentzer or TheVeganPolice) prior to the event. Also, if you want to play but don’t think you have the models required to field the force you want (or any models at all!), please speak to one us before the event and we can gladly lend you some or teach you the basics. Hope to see you there!
