  1. Been a bit busy but managed to paint one Domador De Cadaveres. My first Malifaux mini! The epaulettes are not my best work but I've been a bit more shaky than usual from stress. I know he's a "living" character but I like painting undead skin more so that's what I went with. My husband and I are still figuring out how to play the game. Anyway, more to come!
  2. Wow! Amazing shading on number 4! Great work all around 🙂
  3. This was my entry for the Summer Nights OSL 2022 contest. 🙂 I took object sourced lighting a bit literally as the whole thing is done with black light paint. I didn't take into account how difficult that would be to photograph ha ha! Even the video doesn't quite capture how bright this thing is IRL. It was my first time trying an all black light mini and I had fun with it. The lack of shading is so to not hinder the glow. I chose a Flail Snail because snails come out in the summer and I've always wanted to paint one. Were I to do it again I would not do the entire thing in glow paint. Just accents so it was more obvious what was glowing 🤦. Big big learning experience. Fun though! Can't be sad look at a psychidelic flail snail! Again, thanks to the one person that gave me a vote! I honestly was hoping for one vote so that meant the world to me! My next minis will be Malifaux related 😉 Video of snail in regular light and black light: https://youtu.be/b2yqf-8giW0
  4. Thank you! I will check those out! I don't have an airbrush yet. Sounds like a game changer for sure. Nudel I'm excited for the paint contest to be announced over so we can talk about it too! 🙂 My style of painting is pretty weird. I end up doing a million things coats to get the desired effect usually so I usually hand prime with black or white depending on the area. I have tried all black primer and I end up having to backtrack too much. Thanks for the tips! I appreciate it a lot!
  5. New to Malifaux. Just got my first sets of minis in (hooray)! What is everyone's favorite glue and primer to use for best assembly and least obstruction of detail? Thanks!
  6. Okay! So Seamus Core box, high society and Hats off would be a good start? Or would it be better to go with the Big Hat keyword for the Hats Off? Is it not worth getting at all? I'm totally new and figuring out what to get for first time players. Thanks for the help! I should note, we don't have any stores in the area that carry Malifaux so I can't go in and physically look at the things which is usually how I prefer to figure things like this out. I really appreciate the spreadsheet! Spreadsheet! Spreadsheet! Woo!
  7. How does the Hats Off box do in all this? If I got that with the Seamus Core box would that be a good start for Redchapel?
  8. Perfect! Thank you that's exactly what I need!

I really love this one. The creativity is awesome. So spooky. This is my top pick.
  10. Thank you this is helpful! It's most likely I'll be painting whatever minis we get and he will be in for the game. He is the type to get hyped about something after we have started it. Trying to get him hyped now is harder. He's a handsome on learner. He just wants me to pick so we can get something started. We play DND so if we get a faction and play it a few times, don't like it and switch to a different one, at least we can use the minis for DND 🙂 Looking at the Redchapel Core box that looks awesome with the ladies and the guy with a bunch of hats. Adran and Corn thank you for your insite! I very much appreciate it! The core box for Redchapel looks awesome. Is that enough players or do I need the Hats Off also? The only thing I'm not loving about Malifaux so far is when trying to start the game the things don't say on them "this is for blah blah in the game and it's all you need" or " but this plus this". It would be great if they had a quick start guide/shopping list if you aren't just going to buy a starter pack haha! I really appreciate the forum! Thanks for the help! We are both really excited to have a two player rpg style game. 🙂

  12. Hello! I am new to Malifaux but am super excited about the Rotten Harvest sets that are coming out soon! Between the two boxes it looks like enough for a full Guild team(I hope😬)? The Guild isn't what I would have gone for initially but I can't resist the Dia De Los Muertos minis 😍 What is a good faction to get for my husband to play if I'm playing Guild? Or does it not matter as long as it's different? The Hats Off minis caught my eye for him but I'm not sure which other ones I would need to complete the set or if that would be the best faction. I am clearly mini driven. Malifaux seems like something we will really enjoy once we get started. The getting started just seems a little complicated. Any help is appreciated!
