Experienced players will kill your DD quickly and ignore Teddy as much as they can... Killing LD minions is super important against Insomniac. Teddy is not a good hire in like 80% of the pool where you'll pick Insomniac. The consume combo is cute and worth knowing about, but you shouldn't go out of your way to make it happen... So it's almost never relevant. I would not hire Teddy or Yume because of it.

I think it's much more nuanced than this. First of all, Malifaux rewards crew mastery. If you take 2 average player, one with a crew he's playing for a while and the second with a new master that he has pick up (even if he has played a couple of game with it), the player with the most experience with his own crew is the most likely to win. If you play competitively, you'll quickly see all the more powerful option if you're in a big enough meta or what you local player like to bring (if you're in a smaller meta)... In both case, the "gotcha" moments from MB will quickly be a thing of the past. If people brings fringe masters, they will benefit from the unfamiliarity of their oponent against them, but they also likely have to play less powerful option... in most game you're better with the tried and true powerhouse if you want to win, exept if you found something that nobody else did yet... Wich can happen in the first few months of MB, but people will catch up quickly (you know internet)... Finally, I'm totally fine with someone spiking a tournament with something new and refreshing (as long as it's not oppressive bulshit)... This is how we avoid a stall meta. Imo a stale game is much more dangerous than a big change. * * * I totally agree that the strength of Malifaux is in the competitive aspect of the game (and in it's great mini and lore). This is not an easy game and it doesn't reward casual play... But the game mechanics are incredible and allowed an almost chess like experience, with just enough RNG to keep it interesting. I think this can appeal to a lot of competitive player... Wyrd should definitely strengthen the casual par of the game : making rules for legacy / campaigns play ; more random outcome and special encounter and even a coop mode are all things that worh exploring.

The kurgan itself (since it's treated as a terrain marker... for example Z2 can removed it with Lost Knowledge). Wich is really interesting with mudslide is that as long as it's on, you can use slam on the Kurgan for a lot of extra movement. The Kurgan can even slam himself (wich does make much sense).

I don't think there's such thing as a good lllucius list (new or old) 🤣. Seriously, beside a Changeling and the scripe maybe you don't need KW... So just go for the classic purple powerhouse. At this point you have to ask yourself is Lucius really the best master in any pool for purple?

I don't think execute base strategy are really effective... low range pulse are not the best to drain hand Imo (shockwave will do it better and discard trigger on guns works very well too). I think there's a real execute crew in Nighmare, but you're waaaaay better with Insomniac Dreamer. 1) you can craft the perfect execute hand; 2) you can summons LCB back 3) you have great discard and superior mobility. This is my suggestions (bot the most competitive Insomniac built, but in something like turf it could work). The cheapest option would be for wyrd to have a production hub in europe, but I guess the company and/or the market is not big enough. Beside that, could a couple of indy companies cooperate to lower their shipping cost by doing big shipping together (by container)?

I'm not sure this built is as effective as before... I think you're the only one ever referring to Lucius 1 as an "easy win button"... He's often viewed as one of the weakest masters in purple.

Nothing? Lucius 2 has a different angle... Lucius 1 can pit quite a gun line... In guild. In purple, it's more of a combo master... His combo potential was turn down by the Changeling scheme. I have a huge bias toward Mama Z thoug, so maybe a Lucius player will disagree.

Hire Alyce... Seriously, I think Neverborns are well equipped to deal with hard to wound.

The real problem of Carver and mostly any other high cost purple beater is that Hina exist... I like him a lot though and he outshines her in some situations. My only complaint: he's really slow. I like to play an aggressive playstyle with Dora, and usually he's late to the party. I think he offered 4 I interesting things : 1) Focus control; 2) Ruthless (oh boy this is a rare commodity in purple); 3) Breath of fire; 4) min 4 stat 7 attack (not a lot of minions can resist a Sheers double punch). Beside that, he's an other execute Henchman for Dreamer 2 or Zoraida 2 execute spam (unfortunately this is more of a meme list than anything). Finally, I really like the Carver classic look... If at some point I can get my hands on the mini, I'll field him outside of vassal (for all the hate he got, he's really hard to find)! My personal list of purple 9-11ss beater for Dora : The Emissary Hinamatsu The Hooded Rider The Carver Teddy Mature Nephilim Angel Eyes Thoon Yep... the versatile are just better (not you Angel Eyes). This is purple sad truth.

I played CR7 in a MWS tournament too... I mostly want to have fun. Hinamatsu allow to play puppets as a KW wich no master can't. With 3 actions she's actually close to master power level... 8 attacks is something.

We must be careful with those data... A lot of great player are playing green right now... And NB seems to attract more beginner (and our purple top dog are bo where to be seen). Also, in my opinion, the best NB masters (Dreamer 2 and Zoraida 1) are quite hard to play. Edit : I would actually like to see the average ranks in last year MWS for the players of each faction.

Being buried agaisnt Marshall is quite dangerous. Since a lot of the KW can target buried models.
