  1. This might be the solution for cheap models not doing much. In a league those cheap basterds really make a difference. Doesn't help with wishlist for GG2, though.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. @Brushgit I am not too fond of the brownish grey, especially on the upper body. It lacks depth/shadows. Will probably just do some dark grey glazes to solve that. The contrast in style between base and model was something I was actually looking for to emphasize the desaturated colors on the model compared to others in the (Redchapel) crew. @SEV 1) good point. I might think about it. I imagined the veil as not being translucent as the Mourner is hiding something truly hideous behind this veil. But adding a greenish or redish glow from behind the veil might enhance the strangeness of this... thing. 2) I decided against strong highlights on purpose as the model is meant to be in grey-ish flat colors. In strong contrast to most of my other Redchapel models with their bright colors. 3) Same here: it is about the contrast. All my Rezzer models get something green, sometimes a detail, other times it's relevant parts of the model. In this case I wanted to make the green pop to really pop compared to everything else on the model (same for the flowers on the base). I guess my main issue is that the colors don't come together this nicely. But at the moment I have no idea about how to solve this without doing a full overhaul.
  3. And the story continues. I will try to finish my Redchapel keyword within the next two months, so it's Mourner's time as I have those two creepy gals assembled for quite some time.
  4. Great work @Brushgit Here are my next 6 Stones for March: I am not too fond of her. Was mainly experimenting with kinda 50 shades of grey. Maybe she will get an overhaul in the near future but I will leave her for now and see if I can do better on the second one with different colors and techniques.
  5. I always at least consider Asura when I pick a crew which wants to have some corpse tokens on the board. She is only 2 points more than a Gravedigger and offers a chance to bring a lot of corpses. Also, don't underestimate her Re-Animate bonus action: allowing any Zombie (Redchapel, Experimental, Forgotten offer good choices) to take another action. And the fact alone that Mindless Zombies actually can score points is enough to keep the opponent busy. Ranged damage+Injured, potential Heal - I like her although she needs some support and stones. If you are lacking beaters better look somewhere else, though.
  6. From 'Wishlist for GG2' to 'u all stoopid 'cauze cheep minions bad/good' in two days. Not bad. It could have been one.
  7. 1 (one) Strategy punishing for killing doesn't result in "completely killess playstyle every game" - just saying Also, most attacks come with triggers which do stuff. And finally, a Strat that punishes killing not necessarily has to be designed in a way that automatically has you loosing a game just because of you killing stuff. A clause like "to score 1 point, a player has to do X for y times, where y is the number of enemy models killed by attacks or effects of said player during this turn +1". So, if you are 'pacifist' it saves you actions. If you go for the kill you deny your opponent (future) actions but also are forced to spent more of your own ressources on other stuff to actually score. I consider this a challenging and interesting tactical decision.
  8. Very good point. Strategies like Reckoning still are pretty cool as it is mainly about the timing of the killing and not the killing alone which results in surprisingly interesting play. I'd still prefer to not have any Strategy focussing on killing. Instead I would even appreciate a Strategy which even punishes killing. Would be a great push for cheap-ish Minions and could lead to us all seeing totally new crews on the board.
  9. The story continues. After Madame Sybelle's girls were confronted by some cheeky Performers on Friday* I had to finish all the Mindless Zombies, asap. *Luckily, Asura Rotenberg is visiting Drywater these days and she helped keep up proper order after having tea (and whiskey) with Madame Sybelle the days before and the lovely and honorable ladies befriended each other. As soon as the first explosions were heard from the direction of the local church, the two had to take a look to see what was going on. Guess what, Callous Cassandra was busy bombing the cemetary with sticks of dynamite to make room for the dirty saloon she wants to build. Sybelle and Asura of course decided to intervene. A whistle by Sybelle was heard throughout the town and soon thereafter the lovely ladies of her establishment were at the cemetary to fight back. Asura saved the day by helping to retrieve the dead bodies from the damaged graves while Sybelle's girls bombed everything back to order. Anyways, here's this weeks output:
  10. Here are my first miniatures for March: Mindless Zombies. As I already painted 2 of those during the end of March it's only 6 Stones. As a side note I also fullfilled the challenge for this month with one of the Zombies: One of Asura's constant companions was painted with the three base colors+black+white only. And while I was a bit afraid of the challenge, the outcome is quite nice, though.
  11. Great work. I especially like the strong colors with nice contrast and your choice of colors for Seamus (and Copycat).
  12. Madam Sybelle told your girls not to come into her town to play your foul games with our honorable customers. There you have it. You might have been lucky enough to have a few of our townfolk read your advertising signs. Sybelle and her respectable ladies will take care about that no happening, again. More spare parts are always welcome, so, please don't hesitate sending over any leftovers of your miserable Performers. 🧟‍♀️
  13. As somebody who got used to assembling the late 2N/early 3N metal miniatures for Infinity I always consider Malifaux miniatures a walk in the park.
  14. Very nice choice, @Rainer Statistiker her style will fit perfectly with Madame Sybelle's and as lady of the house she will take good care of her - or her remains.
  15. About the challenge: primary colors are allowed to be mixed with black, white and grey? And black and white are allowed to be mixed into greys? Or no mixing at all? If the later is the case, I'll skip as I don't see any model, I'll ever paint with such a palette. I have an idea for primaries+(b+w+)greys, though.
  16. And here are my 2 Mindless Zombies for the special challenge for this month. With more time spent on those two miniatures should have led to better results. On the other hand, it's only 2 Stones per Zombie. Bete Noire + 2 Rotten Belles + 2 Mindless Zombies => 22 Stones for February
  17. My plans for March are: more Rezzer models (unsurprisingly). Atm, I guess I will paint and one or two Dead Dandies and a few Versatile models (Gravedigger, Grave Golem, maybe Emissary) but it heavily depends on the progress in the campaign I am doing with a friend of mine. Should I find some more time for painting Malifaux models I will try to get some color on a few Transmortis models, but that seems rather unlikely.
  18. For the Gasers Bloated Stench already is kind of the Demis ability mentioned above, so I guess chances for them getting any errata in this way are rather low.
  19. Canines are okay in a McM crew. They fill the gap of fast-ish scheme runners and them dragging along corpses can actually do something in the crew. Together with the perv metabolism they force the opponent to dedicate resources way above their weight to get rid of them. Autopsies were okay if their ranged attack was 5. They are quite sturdy, generate Stones, are comparably fast, hit okay in close combat. I don't bring them often but that's mainly because GG1 heavily favors elite over horde. Gasers actually do lack, as they don't come with H2W they go down easily. Their only use as they are now is generating some poison for my own crew which feels a bit wrong. The demise ability @ooshawn proposed would fit and give them some more use. On the other hand the are 4 Stones and have Flight, some utility, 5 wounds, perv metabolism and a little retaliation, so I consider their price fair. As the 'problematic' models are those for 3, 4 or 5 Stones, again, i'd say it's just the typical problem of elite always beating model count M3E is facing at the moment and thus it's not so much about the models but the game. As a side note: I am running a campaign with a friend of mine (Shifting Loyalities modded to M3E) and the situation is totally different there when it comes to cheap models. Maybe the designers already had something like this (small or smaller games) in mind.
  20. But... Due to recent events I had to change my painting schedule. My lovely Redchapel ladies were conducting their honorable business in the small settlement Drywater just a few days ride south of the Knotwood and weren't thinking of anything terrible (well, not of anything terrible besides being killed by Seamus, that is), one fine day, a bunch of ugly living ragdolls dressed in fancy clothes entered their small and beautiful little town. It was a bunch of Arcanist misfits, a weird troupe of waitresses (and a sheep) who had decided to steal the money of the hard working people of Drywater by luring them (literally) into their saloon wagon with only one goal: to leave the respectable town a few weeks later, its innocent people bereft of all their precious belongings. Madame Sybelle's ladies at the famous Cat House (you can't miss it, it's right next to the town's crematorium) are the only force standing between those pesky thiefs and the honest townfolk. Sybelle's reputable ladies did not hesitate for one single moment and went to business instantly. I, of course, couldn't let those brave ladies take on this endeavor of selflessly defending the pittoresque little town they at the moment call their home without proper outfits and thus had to delay painting my Von Schtook crew in favor of my Redchapel keyword. If you want to follow the progress you are welcome to do so. On behalf of my dear friend Sybelle and here cute ladies I just ask for the favour of never ever having or even applauding the despicable progress those caitiffs are making over there at @Rainer Statistiker's miniature thread. Don't have a look there if you don't want to break a few dry and cold non-beating hearts. Here is Sybelle's crew so far. And I am pretty sure more townfolk will rush to help, soon. Madame Sybelle is still negotiating with some of her direct neighbors and some might need a very kind and nice special treatment to be convinced. But it's only a matter of time, until Drywater belon... ahem, is as calm and neat as it was before those cheats came to town.
  21. After @Rainer Statistiker entered the forums with his work, I finally decided to create my own thread. We will come the Rainer's stuff in a minute but I want to show my collection of (painted) Malifaux miniatures as it is now, first. Molly's Crew is my favorite. But I also did some random stuff. At the moment, I am trying to focus on my Ressurectionist models and really enjoy painting them.
  22. A little update and upgrade. Not much painting done, this week. But I finished my bases for the Redchapel keyword and wanted to share some pics.
  23. That's a nice looking gal. So sad that she is still alive. But no worries, we can help you change that rather easily. I see some nice additions to Madame Sybelle's collection of replacement parts.
  24. You really movin' into my town? Seriously? You wanna start this war with your bunch of lazy gals? So, be it. You have been warned. Always remember that you started this, while my ladies just were conducting their reputable business. You want it, you get it!
