As Carving Day approaches, citizens of Malifaux take delights in adding a bit of levity to the fearful things lurking behind corners. Children don costumes and ask for candy; adults dress in masks and disguises to attend parties and get-togethers.
But even though it’s a time of festive celebration, few can shake their gut feeling. Is that makeup, or a zombie? A stitched mask or a malicious puppet? A friend, a foe, or both? The night is still young…
Experience a masquerade just like that with this new Halloween Malifaux scenario! It’s perfectly suited to larger groups, packed to the brim with intrigue, and will have you questioning just who’s who by the end of the night. Spooky candles, nougat, and atmospheric music not included.
Download a Printer friend version of this Scenario here.
But where to get costumes on such short notice? In Through the Breach, Fated desperate for a last-minute getup might find themselves directed to an old building newly occupied. Ornate lettering on the signage out front reads “Costume Shoppe”. Colorful dress, masks, and jewelry glitters inside. Why don’t you come in? Mr. Mazzanti has been waiting for you…
As a reminder, we still have our Iggy special promotion going on. If you spend $75 or more at your local game store from now until October 31st, you can fill out the form on our promotions page to receive this Alt Iggy! Just remember to keep your receipt! Submitted your form and haven’t heard anything? Don’t worry! We only contact you if there’s an issue, so you should have your Iggy in no time.
But that is not all, a blast from the past for Wyrd’s Spooky History is making an appearance, Vasyl was one of the first models we ever created as a company, and while his undying spirit may no longer haunt the halls of our office, Vasyl has been known to make an appearance at the local bowling alley. As a celebration of the spooky season we are holding a coloring contest!
Print out this art piece and color it to your heart’s content. To make it a little easier to print, the PDF can be found here.
From now until November 8th, download or print the Vasyl coloring page, color it with your preferred tools of the trade (digital, crayons, markers, pencils - whatever you want!) and post it on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram with the #rottenharvest hashtag so we can find your entry. Make sure that we can see the post so you qualify.
When the contest ends (on November 8th), we’ll search for all of the entries with the #rottenharvest hashtag and draw two random winners, who will each be receiving both boxsets for this year’s Rotten Harvest. We can’t wait to see your creativity shine with this spooky coloring page!
We hope you enjoy this Scenario, Coloring Contest, and Augment. Happy Halloween Wyrdos, from the Wyrd team to you all!

Hello Wyrdos!
Waldo broke out his crayons and colored pencils again this week, and he’s been furiously drawing out a story he says will be the greatest of all stories, ever, no question. Most of the artwork looks to feature Waldo in various heroic situations, always saving the day… maybe we should look at a Story more based in reality?
Said to be a boy no older than 12, Thánh Gióng once led the forces of Vietnam to victory against insurmountable odds. He carried bamboo spears for protection, and rode atop a mechanical horse that breathed fire. Since Linh Ly took over the Red Library, his Story has flourished and returned to life.
Just like his legendary inspiration long ago, the Story of Thánh Gióng is ready to ride into battle atop his mechanical horse and protect those he holds most dear. His other Red Library and Story allies will, of course, be available in Madness of Malifaux later this month.
But that’s not all! Fated and Fatemasters will be able to venture into the Red Library themselves in From Shadows, the upcoming expansion for Through the Breach. While we can’t reveal much more just yet, here’s a look at the Red Librarian Advanced Pursuit and its Advancement Steps!
- Step 1: Library Science
- Step 2: Shifting Text
- Step 3: Well-Versed
- Step 4: Rewrite the Story
- Step 5: Treasures of the Red Library
The more knowledge Red Librarians have, the happier they are. High History and Literacy Skills let them apply book learning to lots of situations (and get rewards from doing so- daily Magia, anyone?). The most dedicated Librarians gain access to the Red Library’s secrets, going so far as to change reality itself for a time. Just make sure you follow all the rules and don’t forget your library card…
You can sate your desire for more Red Library knowledge by checking out Corner Case’s reveal on some of the Red Library keyword in the link below!
Remember, we’re offering a digital promotion on Madness in Malifaux! Check out the information below on how to claim a free digital copy of the book from DriveThruRPG. It will run until the end of the year, so you’ve got time to get your orders in.
That’s all for this week, Wyrdos, but we’ve got more reveals on the way! Defective Dice will be going over all things Harold Tull and the Cavalier keyword later this week, so go check the channel out!

Hey Wyrdos!
This week, Waldo gathered us all together and started telling us about some dreams he’s been having lately. In what we can only call a three-hour opera of unimaginably dramatic proportions, our imp revealed the entire intricate backstory behind his nap time reveries. And yes, there were set pieces and cardboard cutouts.
While Waldo works on designs to represent the characters his mind comes up with, we thought it would be a great time to reveal our latest Through the Breach One Shot that shares an eerily similar theme:
In Waking Dreams, the Fated are called to investigate a manor being sold on the cheap. The place is haunted, neighbors claim. But it’s not ghosts or undead who walk these halls, oh no. Creatures far more sinister are responsible for the shifting illusions and brutal murders. Or are they? Only one way to find out…
Waking Dreams is a brand new One Shot adventure that can be incorporated into any Through the Breach campaign. Uncover what secrets the dilapidated manor holds, and see just what’s behind the mysterious happenings in this place of nightmares.
You can download the PDF of Waking Dreams RIGHT NOW for just $5 on DriveThruRPG. Head over to download your copy of this maddening adventure today!
That’s all for now, Wyrdos. We’ll see you next week!

Hey Wyrdos,
This week, Waldo welcomed us back from Gen Con with open arms. After a moment, however, it became clear he was simply asking for an armful of food since he had run out while we were all out of the office. So, while we get back to the grocery store for Waldo AND recover from the convention, let’s look back at exactly why we think Gen Con is truly The Best Four Days in Gaming™.
Thursday
Opening day! As soon as the clock struck 10, the doors opened, and the halls flooded with people. Within minutes, our booth was full of fans wanting to pick up the latest Witness keyword, Iconic models, and Vagrantsong scenarios.Have you ever wondered whether Parker and Basse could team up to defeat Reva and Kaeris? Over in the Event Hall, 12 brave players took part in our first official Double Random Rush event! Each round, players were assigned random masters and random teammates to face off using a thematic Double Rush format. While it may have been a snapshot of chaos, the whole event was a great time, and everyone seemed to embrace the entropy.
Friday
Gen Con didn’t cool down at all during the second day. We sold out of a bunch of stuff that we expected to last the entire convention. Our booth remained filled with people speculating the models we had in our cabinets and new players wanting to find out more about why Malifaux is so awesome. And on Friday night, we held a special Vagrantsong event for the Fox Sisters. 32 players joined in on the fun as we all unraveled the puzzle of who they are and what they wanted with us poor souls. While two groups went Westbound in this challenging Scenario, everyone walked away with Vagrantsong-themed prizes and memories of some wild antics.
Saturday
On Saturday morning, 28 Wyrdos sat down for our annual Tyrants Tournament. They battled for three rounds to claim the ultimate prize: The Tyrant’s Belt! This year was an exciting start for the new Season of Gaining Grounds and we are looking forward to seeing the community embrace it the coming months. It was also a great start for our favorite new Witness-watching Arcanist, Damian Ravencroft, who made his first official start at the tournament being played in all three rounds by one very daring player. At the end of it all, Doug Bowman playing the Neverborn came in third place, while Andre Demings piloted the Explorer’s Society to second place. But it was Landon Sheehan and his Ten Thunders who ended up taking home the belt this year.Sunday
To celebrate the end of The Best Four Days in Gaming™, we spent a Steam-Powered Sunday trying something completely new: the Honeypot Casino Bonanza Brawl! An extra wacky version of the standard All-Out Brawl, this event saw groups of 5-6 players stapling various treasures to their model of choice and battling for control of a Honeypot Casino-themed board. This event led to the inception of some interesting… creations… like the Uncomfortably Slippery, Still Drippy, Peacekeeper. When the dust settled and drip finally dropped, each player left the Casino with their very own copy of the Loot Deck. If you’re interested in trying out this scenario for yourself, check it out here. Special thanks to the Steam-Power Scoundrels, who pioneered the new game mode, helped to run this event and without whom this Casino Brawl would not have been possible.Lastly, we wanted to give a huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers across the entire weekend who helped us put on the best Gen Con show we’ve had in years, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello! We can’t wait until we get back together next year, so thanks for keeping it Wyrd.

Hey Wyrdos!
This week, Joss when we thought we got to the K.O.R.E. of preventing Waldo’s machinations, he tried making a trebuchet out of office supplies. All of us became Watchers as Waldo’s contraption somehow flung itself into the air and left its paper ammunition on the ground. We all think it’ll need some Creative Salvage to get working again. Despite its spectacular failure, the trebuchet got us all in a medieval mood.
Every year, we release alternate models for an existing crew box. These Nightmare Editions offer you different and visually stunning ways to play your favorite Masters and crews. Last year we had the Deepest Depths show us what lurks below; now, we journey to the far corners of legend once more. A castle rumored to have a mind of its own, a prince driven mad by forbidden knowledge, and his loyal servants Augmented so their forms can serve new purposes...
Let’s take a look at this year’s Nightmare Edition models, and what’s in their first box, The Fallen Kingdom:
As you might’ve guessed, the Augmented Keyword has gotten brand-new Nightmare looks:
- Emaciated Hollow Fiends fly overhead instead of Watchers.
- Joss and Melissa K.O.R.E. are represented by the colossal Porphyrion and the elegant Weeping Huntress, respectively.
- Little Stiltzkin has replaced the Mechanical Attendant, though we’re sure he’ll receive just as much love.
- Leading this force is Charles Hoffman, Inventor’s alternate, Lord Galehault, Fallen Prince. This is the first time we’ve included Titles in the Nightmare Editions, so you can bring either version of the Guild’s beloved engineer onto the field.
If you’re looking to expand the Keyword, you’ll want to pick up their second box, Legend Reforged. This contains:
- The mighty Galvanic Wyrm is an imposing and dangerous replacement for a Peacekeeper.
- Lord Galehault himself, represents Charles Hoffman’s original version.
This fiendishly handsome prince and his drake will be available for purchase online and at Gen Con as well.
If you are looking to further expand your collection, The Walking Fortress box will be available later this year for Black Friday. It contains three Juggernauts, who serve as alt Riotbreakers.
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a Gen Con celebration without a Miss model! Miss Tique takes to the stage this year as an alt Carlos Vasquez, ready to put the burn on her competition. For every $100 spent during Gen Con 2022, orders will get 1 Miss Tique included for free. Spend $200, get 2; spend $300, get 3, and so on.
These unassembled boxes and more will be available on our webstore (and in person at Gen Con) during our Gen Con sale. This sale will last from Wednesday, August 3rd - Sunday, August 7th, so make sure you’ve got your wish lists sorted!
That’s all for this week, Wyrdos. Next time, we’ll have a full breakdown of everything that will be available for sale, including a very curious group indeed…
Bear Witness.

Hey Wyrdos,
Within these days from rest to rest, Waldo hath doth his duct-tape gut armor and dove into thine fray once hence; layeth on his knave be there pauldrons woven with fork of plastic and gauntlets forged through grease and ladle; while sheathed at his side layeth thee Butter-Knife-of-Butt-Whooping. Our dearest knight in dining armor took up arms to face an ancient creature: So' Die’em Cth’lo-Ride, whose tears stain our very soul and taint our wares. So, whilst we prepare to fortify our barriers and man the battle lines for the upcoming grease gauntlet, may thee fix an eye on a new battleground.
Gaining Grounds: Season 3 is here, and with it comes new ways to play our favorite game. In case you don’t know, Gaining Grounds is our yearly expansion of the Encounters within Malifaux Third Edition. This document provides updates to Strategies and Schemes, gives an overview of how to run a Malifaux competitive event, and provides a host of game variants to spice up games and fit the whims of your local community. With this new Season of Gaining Grounds, we have a lot to share. Let’s take a look at two new Strategies from Season 3.
In Cursed Objects, crews are burdened with a series of mystical artifacts that are draining their owners of their very being. If you manage to take out an enemy while they have one such trinket, you’ll be granted a boon of your own (1 VP). Devious players may find it easier to protect their own models by shedding the trinkets onto weaker enemies and slaying them once they are burdened by such a curse.
Guard the Stash returns from Second Edition and has been updated with a fresh coat of Third Edition paint. Players will need to defend Strategy Markers on their own table half while simultaneously controlling Markers on their opponent’s table half. In this way, players are provided multiple paths to victory. Whether focusing on late-turn movement control, low-cost high quantity units, or more “traditional” area control tactics; many playstyles are valid in this king-of-many-hills. This Strategy utilizes a never-before-seen layout of Strategy Markers to dynamically change the shape of the conflict based on Deployment.
Along with the new Strategies in this packet comes a wide selection of Schemes. Fan favorites such as Assassinate and Breakthrough will be returning, and several Schemes like Sabotage have been updated to better reflect the state of the game. To round out the options, we have included five Schemes new to Third Edition: Load ‘Em Up, Public Demonstration, Set the Trap, In Your Face, and Secret Meetup.
If you are seeking to get your hands on physical copies of these new Gaining Grounds Encounter cards, fear not! These cards are available on WargameVault for print-on-demand and will be made available at your local game store in a combined pack with the February 2022 Errata Cards later this year, just as we’ve done so in the past.
The Malifaux Crew Builder App will also be updated with the latest Gaining Rounds Season 3 Strategies and Schemes here shortly. Keep checking to see if your app needs an update!
For those that are brave enough to test their mettle in just a few short weeks, we are going to be running several Malifaux events at Gen Con 2022:
- On Thursday, Aug 4th, we will be hosting the first-ever Double Random Rush. This event is a great way to meet players across the community, as in each round you will be paired up with a random teammate to face off against new opponents using the Double Rush format. Every round, players will rotate from table to table, with a new random partner, new random opponents, and a new random Crew. Did we forget to mention that last part? Models will be provided; simply bring yourself and a willingness to try new things! More info here.
- Friday, Aug. 5th will have a Henchman Hardcore event, featuring rapid-fire rounds and small crews you’ll be sure to test your skills. More info here.
- Saturday, Aug. 6th we will be hosting a Gaining Grounds Season 3 Tournament, comprised of three rounds showcasing the new Strategies and Schemes. Additionally, every player that participates will receive a free set of GG3 Encounter cards from WargameVault. More info here.
- On Sunday, Aug. 7th, come on down to the Honeypot Casino for a Bonanza Brawl, a special community-created format from the Steam Powered Scoundrels. This event will have you bring one non-Master of your choice to the Casino for a chaotic and ridiculous good time. Additionally, every player that participates will receive a free set of newly updated Bonanza Brawl Loot cards, printed from Wargame Vault.
We are also hosting a variety of other events this year at Gen Con, ranging from speed painting to TOS Titan Smashes, and everything in between. If you haven’t yet had a chance to sign-up, head over to the Gen Con Events page now!
That’s it for now. We’ve got to go finish assembling some models for next week. They should be pretty simple to construct, but we’re sure some of you would still call them a nightmare anyway.

Hey Wyrdos,
This Week, Waldo’s taken a joyride to his local swamp. We bog-ed him not to take the company truck but ultimately couldn’t stop him from quagmiring it. Visions of driving such a big truck had been racing through his mind, so when he marshed up to us demanding the keys, we just stood there like our feet were stuck in the mud.
So, while we drudge up the courage to get our truck back, let's take another quick look at the new Expansion for Bayou Bash: Hog Wild.
Hog Wild is all about variety and the spice of life; giving racers new ways to make their way down the track and various new options for play. Hog Wild cards can be introduced at the start of any race, adding wrinkles into the plan of any jockey. These cards can be played by themselves or combined to suit the racing style; whether you want to have more ramming and player fighting, or to encourage a good clean race to the finish (as clean as Gremlins can be that is).
In addition to the newly added Hog Wild Cards, this Expansion introduces multiple new game modes, including Big Bayou allowing for eight racers on the track at the same time! Within Big Bayou you’ll be racing along a double-wide track for a straight shot at the gold medal, so be sure to grab 7 of your closest friends and head down to the racetrack. And for those of us that don’t have 7 friends, fear not, for the Greenbellies have arrived. Greenbellies are old and cranky racers who don’t have much left in their racing days but have instead chosen to live out their lives on the track itself. In a race with as few as two players, they can add a new level of exciting racing strategy.
These exciting new thrills have caught the attention of yet more peculiar participants. In addition to the Toad Twins and Whiskey Gamin, two more Racers are joining in on the chaos:
The rough terrain of the landscape can’t stand up to this Rigor Mortis Tortoise. The Giga-Turtle has its eyes on the prize as their monster truck wheels allow them to carefully weave around or trample any terrain in their path. So, if you think slow and steady wins the race, then you’ll be shell-rocked by this racer!
Often times the quickest path between two points is not straight through, but up and over, which is exactly how this bird-brain thinks. The Undead Raptor hovers and flies over the local terrain, avoiding all those pesky rocks below. They can even fly back onto the track should they fall off when using their Jetpack Setback ability!
If you are excited at the prospect of 8 player races, undead racers, mysterious mushrooms, and all things wild and crazy, be sure to pick up Bayou Bash: Hog Wild when it releases later this Fall or during our Gen Con Sale!

This week, Waldo has been tearing through our warehouse, on the lookout for models of himself that he can piece together for a Holiday Waldo Shrine.
So, while we clean his leftover scraps and restock the shelves, let’s take a look at the upcoming Black Friday Event!
If you’re unfamiliar with our annual Black Friday Event, we at Wyrd like to spend this time of year celebrating another spin around the sun by offering some of our limited and hard-to-find miniatures, as well as some exclusives along the way.
This year is no different. We’ve got a ton available this time around, so rather than wait around any longer, why don’t we take a look at what’s coming next Wednesday, the 24th.
Blood in the Water
Did you manage to catch Adi Adara in the Deepest Depths Nightmare box? If you’re looking to expand your aquatic black blooded crew, you’ll have your chance during the Black Friday Event with the Blood in the Water box.

Included in the Puppetpocalypse box are four preassembled, puppet-scaled Riders. For just $35, you’ll be able to fulfill Malifaux prophecies of the apocalypse in style.
Bah Hum Rug
This year, Waldo is getting back into the holiday spirit with this 50mm preassembled Bah Hum Rug special terrain piece that will be compatible with both Malifaux and The Other Side with rules for both normal play and ways to add a special holiday touch to your games.
If you spend $100 or more during the Black Friday Event, you’ll receive the Bah Hum Rug Waldo for free! Or, you can put him in your stocking (aka the webstore cart) for just $25.
After the first $100 spent, for each additional $100, you’ll have your choice to receive any of these limited alternate sculpts:

Hey Wyrdos,
This week, Waldo is preparing to join us at Gen Con, and this time, he’s decided to drive the truck. Luckily for us, he doesn’t know the difference between driving an 18-wheeler and getting behind the wheel in an elaborate (cardboard) truck simulator.
So, while we make sure he somehow doesn’t crash into our digital webstore, let’s take a look at all of the new and upcoming releases that will be available at Gen Con (and on our webstore while we are in Indianapolis).
In case you missed it, last week we revealed this year’s Nightmare Box, which reimagines Nekima and her Nephilim crew as underwater merfolk. What’s unique about this year’s Nightmare Edition is that it is fully compatible with both Malifaux AND The Other Side.
Regardless of which side of the Breach you’ll be fighting on, the Deepest Depths box will make sure that you do it in aquatic style.
Bayou Bash is a chaotic racing game for 2-4 players filled with rambunctious racers who will do anything to win over the most fans before crossing the finish line. This long-awaited board game will finally be available during Gen Con this year.
And if you can’t make it to Gen Con this time around, check to see if your friendly local game store is participating in Pop Up Gen Con. Bayou Bash will be playable and purchasable at all Pop Up Gen Cons.
If you pick up Bayou Bash while at Gen Con or online during Gen Con, you’ll receive a Bayou Bash pin!
In Vagrantsong, a cooperative and story-driven boss battler for 2-4 players, you will take on the role of a Vagrant trapped on a supernatural ghost train. Face off against ghosts lingering on the train (called Haints), adjust your playstyle with Skills and Junk acquired along the way, and uncover the secrets of the Silver Ferryman in this spooky and challenging adventure.
We will have limited copies of Vagrantsong available as a pre-release at Gen Con. Due to having limited copies for this pre-release and preorders, Vagrantsong will only be available at the convention (meaning it will not be available on our webstore until the game’s official release date).
If you pick up a copy of Vagrantsong from now until January 31st, fill out this form to receive a Bonus Scenario (which includes new Skills, Junk, and Ritual cards) for free (while supplies last).
Vagrantsong will be released at local game stores later this fall.
If you’re looking to get into The Other Side for the first time or are a Malifaux player looking to expand your Guild or Resurrectionist model list, The Other Side’s Starter Box is a great opportunity to do both! As part of the Other Side 2-player Starter set, Kirai Ankoku will bring her host of ghosts Earthside to battle as part of The Court of Two. Fighting against the Court of Two are the iron-willed Guild, showcasing their power Earthside. Led by Sonnia Criid, the Guild are a dominate show of force on the battlefield, with access to new area control and resource management abilities, providing ample card draw and beneficial effects.
All of the models in The Other Side’s Starter Box are playable in Malifaux Third Edition, as well!
Joining them during Gen Con are the official releases for Samantha Thrace and Binh Nguyen. These Champions can be used to expand the forces within the 2-player Starter Box, or can be used independently in other Allegiances in the game. They are also compatible with Malifaux Third Edition as alt models; Samantha Thrace counts as Dashel Barker and Binh Nguyen counts as Datsue Ba.
The Other Side Starter Box, Samantha Thrace, and Binh Nguyen will be available at Gen Con and during our Gen Con web sale, and will be hitting store shelves later this fall.
If you purchase The Other Side Starter box from now until January 31st from us, you’ll receive a TOS pin for free!
Malifaux Burns is the upcoming expansion book for Malifaux Third Edition that includes new titles for every Master in the game, as well as dual-keyword models that will be paired with two Masters. In addition to cards and bios of every new title and character, Malifaux Burns also includes one epic story about the Burning Man arriving in Malifaux, and what it means to everyone this side of the Breach.
You’ll be able to pick up the Malifaux Burns expansion book at Gen Con, during the Gen Con web sale, or when it hits store shelves in October. And if you buy it between now and January 31st, send us a proof of purchase here and you’ll receive the digital PDF of Malifaux Burns for free! PDF links will be sent out on a weekly basis after the book is officially released.
And if you pick up Malifaux Burns during Gen Con (either at the convention or on our webstore), you’ll receive a Malifaux pin, too!
Looking for a list of everything we’ve got available this year? Here is the list of every new and upcoming release that will be available at Gen Con and during the online Gen Con sale. Any of our products that have already been released (such as Bayou Bash) are not included on this list.

We’ll see you when we get back!

Hey Wyrdos,
If you’ve been paying attention to our latest Twitch streams, you’ll already know what Waldo’s been up to this week. As it turns out, chewing ethernet cables is his way of technical troubleshooting. Luckily, we have backups. And backups for those backups.
So, while we coat our cables with aluminum foil (the one thing Waldo doesn’t like to eat), let’s take a look at something different this week.
By now, some of you might already know that we are FINALLY releasing Bayou Bash, our 2-4 player combative and chaotic racing game, later this month.
But, most of you haven’t had the chance to give it a test run yet. Today, we’re changing that, because we are launching a playable Bayou Bash demo on Tabletop Simulator (which is available on Steam)!
The physical version of Bayou Bash comes with 14 track pieces to build your race to your heart’s content. With the Bayou Bash demo, you and up to 3 of your friends will be able to duke it out on one of 3 pre-made race tracks. Select your racer, choose the track, and you’re off!If you’re still hesitant on giving Bayou Bash a whirl, why not take a look at the rulebook? Find out how the Jockey Card drafting system works. Learn how to use Barrels to your advantage! Make sure you know how to avoid falling off the track! Head over to the Bayou Bash page to download a PDF of the rulebook now!
And if you have no idea what we are talking about at this point, why not give the Bayou Bash trailer a watch?
Download the Bayou Bash Tabletop Simulator demo today. Head over to our Discord server to find some players!
We’ll see you at the races!

Hey Wyrdos,
This week, after Waldo’s failed attempt to contact his friends on the Other Side with his séance, he asked around the office trying to borrow our cell phones in order to scrape together an extra-dimensional communication device. When we realized his “device” was just sticking all their batteries together in order to “juice up” his own phone, we figured it would be best for him to just try another method.
So, while we clean up from Waldo’s mess this week and remove the candid photo of Imp Butt left on each of our devices, let’s take a look at The Other Side Company Builder app, available now for free on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and through your browser.
With The Other Side Company Builder app, you’ll be able to build a Company and share it with your friends, have easy access to every Unit, Asset, and Support card in the game, and create and track games via either local or network connections with all the information needed to play The Other Side (such as Tokens effects and Basic unit Orders) right at your fingertips.
Additionally, for those of us that often leave our books at home, the entire rules PDF is freely accessible directly through the app menu, so any question can be answered in no time.
Once you’ve built your Company, you’ll be able to generate random encounters using the Core Encounter Set or Fields of Glory Encounter set and keep track of your Units’ information (Tokens, Glory, Health) in-game. With ready access to Tactics Token tracking, Stratagem decks, and VP information, The Other Side has never been easier to play.If you love the M3E Crew Builder app, you'll feel right at home with The Other Side's Company Builder app. Both apps were developed by DZ Liergaard, and his attention to detail and polish shine when building crews and companies.
With the Company Builder app available now and the Starter Box just around the corner, there's no better time than now to step through the breach and play The Other Side.

Hey Wyrdos,
This week, Waldo woke up to the sound of a train passing through the night. Only problem? There’s no train tracks anywhere near the office.
So, while we figure out where all that (locomotion) commotion came from, let’s take a look at our next board game.
You’re just one from a handful of trainhoppers trying to find shelter from the storm. You don’t recognize any familiar faces, and come to think of it, you don’t even remember seeing them hop on the train with you. But every one of them swears up and down that they just got here. And based on your own experience, you can’t help but believe them. The strange thing is that everyone seems to be from a different part of town - or towns - places you’ve never even heard of.
After a few handshakes and how-do-you-dos, you all try to settle in the best you can. But without a haybale or old cushion to call your own, neither the train nor the situation bring you much comfort. The only thing you all have in common, it seems, is the welcoming hand that helped each of you aboard. White glove, loose skin... couldn’t forget it if you tried…

Hop aboard the Silver Ferryman and welcome to…
Vagrantsong is a 2-4 player campaign game that takes place on a haunted train, with heavy inspiration taken from American folklore, folk songs, and ghost stories. As a fully cooperative boss-battler, you and your new friends will take on the roles of Vagrants who are trying to escape this ghostly train. You will have to work together to face your fears, reveal the mystery behind the Silver Ferryman, and devise a plan on how to stop it.
Haints, the lost spirits aboard the Silver Ferryman, will do everything in their power to ensure that Vagrants stay just as trapped in this place as they are… It’s up to the players to figure out how to save these lingering souls while also trying to free themselves before it’s too late.
Throughout Vagrantsong’s 20+ Scenarios, you’ll be facing off against many Haints, each with their own unique mechanics, goals, and challenges. Every Scenario is completely different – all killer and no filler!
Haints are fully automated; there’s no need for a game master or another player to take up the role. Performing a Haint’s Action is as simple as drawing a Token from the Bindle bag.
Don’t worry about taking too much time to play. Setting up Vagrantsong is quick and easy. Two minutes of setup can turn into 45 to 90 minutes of play, depending on the player count and Scenario.
As you progress along the tracks of Vagrantsong’s story, the many mysteries of the train will unfold before you, whether through a song in the distance or the choices you make along the way. Each Scenario will have a series of Event Tokens to uncover. They can appear at multiple points during the game, offering aid to Vagrants while simultaneously revealing more of the game’s story. But be careful; oftentimes an Event Token will initiate something dastardly and unexpected!
Don’t forget that everyone has a story, even the Haints that are trying to keep you here. During each Scenario, you will be presented with Rituals that may be completed to remind the Haints of their lost Humanity, granting you and your friends potential boons for the future.
Choices made throughout the campaign will have you trigger Moments, which are special (and sometimes secret) elements to the story, and may even provide a deeper understanding of the world around you. But be careful! Some choices will stick with you for the rest of your ride.
Now it’s time to let the Vagrants shine.
With 6 Vagrants to choose from, each with their own unique Passives and Skills (as well as the ability to combine over 80 Skill cards, 30 Junk cards, and tons of Actions), the opportunities to customize your playstyle are endless.
During your turn, you will place your Coins onto Actions you want to perform. With only 3 Coins to place, you’ll need to plan ahead and strategize with your teammates, as you won’t be able to place Coins on the same Skills you did on your last turn. But don’t worry; Vagrants can always move, investigate the train, patch themselves up, rummage for stuff, or just give the Haint a good old-fashioned walloping!
Let’s take a look at one of the six Vagrants now.
The Cursebearer has been running for a very long time. Armed with her guile and trusty knife, she hopes to defeat the creature of darkness that pursues her… she just needs to figure out how.
She is an aggressive, Haint-focused Vagrant who is always on the move. With her powerful strikes and a potent Passive Effect, the Cursebearer is willing to remind any Haint of their lost Humanity so long as they don’t get in her way.
That’s just the basics of Vagrantsong. There’s a lot more ground to cover, and in the coming weeks, we’ll be diving deeper into the unknown in upcoming Waldo’s Weeklies, so make sure to stay tuned! We are aiming for a pre-release of Vagrantsong at Gen Con, with its official release coming early fall.
Before we go, let’s take a sneak peek at some of the goodies inside:

I’m tryin’ to feel festive. I tried roasting Gremlins over an open fire. I tried runnin’ over Abuela with a reindeer. I even tried dreamin’ of a blight Festivus. Nothin’ was workin’.
They say it’s the most wonderful time of the year, and I ain’t buyin’ it. It’s beginnin’ to look a lot like Bah Humbug, if you ask me.
Since nothin’ seems to be workin’, I decided to run three contests to see if anyone could get me into the holiday spirit.
“I Saw Mommy Painting Santaldo” is a contest all about painting minis. Paint somethin’ up that is festive enough to bring me some holiday cheer. But it’s gotta be a Wyrd mini.
“Oh Snap!” is a gingerbread terrain contest. Build somethin’ that you could put on a table and that I can eat. It’s gotta be in the holiday spirit, and I’m cravin’ gingerbread, so make sure to include that, too.
“Under the Mistle ‘Faux” is a contest that’s gonna scratch my ego a bit. It’s a coloring contest of yours truly. Make me look better than I already do.
To find out the specifics and rules and all that fun stuff, head over to this post here.
Make sure to get your entries in by January 12th. I’ll see you when the voting begins.

Hey Wyrdos!
This week, we came into the office to find it filled with wrappers of all kinds. Turns out Waldo decided to eat all the candy he was supposed to hand out to trick-or-treaters, claiming he was saving us from being swarmed by “tiny ghosts and goblins”. While we remind a very bloated Waldo about his Holiday responsibilities (again), let’s explore a new Through the Breach One Shot where one of the main characters is in slightly worse shape.
Have From Nightmares but are looking for a launching point for an adventure? Trying to introduce your Fated to the nefarious underbelly of Malifaux City’s Neverborn population? In Memento Mori, the Fated are called to the wake of an old acquaintance. He’s left a final will and testament… along with some unfinished business. The Fated must venture into the darkness to deal with Neverborn of all shapes and sizes before putting their beloved friend to rest.
Memento Mori is a brand new One Shot adventure that can be incorporated into any Through the Breach campaign. While it’s a place where Twisted (Neverborn) Fated can shine, all are welcome to help fulfill the final wishes of the dead…
You can download the PDF of Memento Mori RIGHT NOW for just $5 on DriveThruRPG. Head over to grab your copy of this Neverborn-filled adventure today!
That’s all for now, Wyrdos. We’ll see you next week!
