  1. I really like Lamplighters in Ivan! brings a few healing, push, more concealing markers for Ivan to jump to and they also give him positive flips when they are lit! Also as already said Austera is a pretty solid schemer and she's pretty independent if you need! She's really good in vendetta too!
  2. one Lamplighter in Ivan is good! the 2 lamp markers are concealing so they give you an easy way to jump across the board with Ivan/Mordrake! Also if you positionned them well this will give Ivan a nice Positive once per activation for the whole game! It transforms him into a mini-turret and always having at least 1 positive in defense is really good!! For the heal, it will most of the time heal only 1 but it's not that bad since it's coupled with a 3inch push! If you REALLY need to heal more, you could also not relent and cheat a really low card for Ivan and a moderate card with lamplighter so that you heal without any modifier.
  3. McCabe can do most strat/schemes! SO I would go with him for sure if I could only take 1 master!
  4. how have you done a 4AP Brutal Emissary? or do you mean using 2 Domador to obey the Emissary? if this is what made your friend concede tell him that there's way nastier tricks than this one!
  5. why would the Yaksha needs to be in base with the moorwraith? Earth's remedy has 6'' range! Also Moorwraith does not have to be in base with an enemy since has you said the 2'' aura is for all the other models! so as long as the enemy is within 2 of the Moorwraith, he is in base with a severe terrain and also within 6'' of both the Yaksha and Jedza you can kill 1 HP enemy without any test needed!
  6. For the acolytes I just wish they got tundra hunter instead of from the shadow! this would make them into a great glass canon! Tundra hunter is an awesome ability but the only model we have with it don't want to attack enemies 90% of the time!

  8. last breath generate a melee attack action and is not a charge so will create a shadow marker after the attack!
  9. maybe you're right, maybe not! there's been pretty good rule lawyer in my group that have said this answer to me and I'm not alone thinking this in this forum as Ogid also thinks the same way. It would be nice to have a clear answer tho. In the end, if Wyrd confirms in a FAQ Chi also boost the first duel total, I do not mind at all even if Monk do not need this boost really! I've played against Monk a lot since my main opponent really likes them.
  10. It's on page 10 of the rulebook. modifiers for a duel are only added at step D : Determine Final Duel Total. If you look at Step B: Flip Fate card, they say to add your stat, the value of the card and any suits you have to determine your current duel total. While in step D they ask you to add your stat, value of the card, suits and any additional suits or modifiers to get your final duel total

  12. the base of my lists were often this: Misaki, fractured Shang Ototo Minako 1 or 2 Torakage the rest of the ss were used depending of what I needed. (samurai, Effigy with upgrade, Emissary, etc.) I also took Jin in 2-3 games to try him but wasn't impressed that much. The wrapped in Darkness combo with him and Misaki in corner is pretty cool but apart from this specific situation I didn't like him that much. One cool thing about this title with Minako is that you can use Shang to create Katashiro without using your actual shadow markers. (edit: this does not work! since removing the marker is a cost you need to remove it to summon)
  13. Ogid is right on the post you linked! he is saying the same thing as me! You decide to use chi right after flipping but the +2 modifier is only factored in the last duel total (after cheating is done)
  14. I've come to the same conclusion! After a few games with her and some theorycrafting with a few friends we came to the conclusion that she is not that good. Especially compared to her original card! very card hungry as you said for all the obeys. Not enough Shadow Marker generations. She plays way more in a bubble than OG and in current GG it's not that great! Jin's bury shenanigans I've found are only impactful in corner deployment. He is a glass cannon that is good to kill armor and not that much else. His gun is one of the rare ways to create shadow marker but it deals pitiful dmg and have no triggers. Pass tokens are really nice and help you with activation control which is strong for sure but I still find he does not bring enough to the table. Maybe me too I'm not seeing why there was so much hype on her or I'm playing her wrong. In the end I much prefer to play her original version and I'm also way better at it! ahah!
  15. you have to declare using the chi after flipping but the +2 is only added for the final duel total! Every modifier works like that. So chi don't change anything for the order of who have to cheat first.
  16. for the brocken Specter, Hallowed Glory needed a nerf but I just don't get why they also lost Terrifying? were they so hard to kill they needed to lose a big part of their defense? I'm also sad for the nerf on the Penumbral converter range! It was a great tool to place shadow markers in far away places to allow some shenanigans inside the crew. Now it will be way harder to use it now in my opinion.
  17. I really like the Samurais! they are powerhouse! same cost has Fuhatsu, a little worse at range, way better in melee, Fuhatsu is a little tougher because of stone. Samurais benefit form minion synergy, they are also versatile so you can use them in any crew for no extra cost, they have focus on bonus action and finally they have anti-armor built in which can be really strong in certain matchups! all in all they are pretty similar, but I prefer the samurai! I also really like their look!
  18. I don't think Mikhail should be nerfed! he is solid for 10ss but he also only has 2 actions with a really weak bonus action! His melee action is good but on par with what other big beaters have. His best action in my opinion is his shockwave that can really put some pressure on the opponent if a few good targets are bubbling and he has good mobility/synergy with the crew with his Chronicle but a keen opponent can easily block LoS to prevent him form teleporting. For a 10ss beater, he is far from OP in my opinion.
  19. who do you think would make good proxies for the guild mages? I don't want to buy the big TOS box but they are really good tech pieces Guild needed for a long time. They have an asian look to them so maybe look into the TT models?

Sophie synergize so well with Jedza seekers and she will guarantee your chronicles with camp by candlelight rams trigger! on turn 2 if she is near Jedza she will heal because she'll have 4 HP and thus triggering all your chronicles! For turn 1 chronicles you can heal Sophie with a lamplighter/Jedza or use the Damned ability to ping himself and heal him after that (he'll be kind of far away from your crew if you leaped so check your distances well!)

  23. Hi all! I've started playing Malifaux again! (yeah!!) But I've realised some models in the app (like Yan Lo) is still is normal self from the beginning while others have the new FAQ version (like Tanuki) does someone has the same problem has me? or if you know how much time it takes to update them? thx!
  24. For Last Blossom Minako and her summons should be green! She's an excellent schemers that summon more superb schemers! With her, Misaki and Ototo you have a pretty strong base!
  25. the MVP of the crew for me are Tannen and Kitty! To protect Tannen use a silent protector beckoner or Samurai! Trained Ninja is only good against long range crew and Tannen wants to be close to do is thing so in most case it's a bad protection for him! Kitty gives the crew the mobility they need to get in place and make the bubble of ''you can't do anything'' going! and after that she is an excellent schemer! Jacob is often a distraction. You should not need him to win and he is there to disrupt opponent plan and put pressure! try to summon low minions with him to put even more pressure and Brilliance. If you bring a little healing or a silent protector minion he will be really hard to bring down! Beware about some of the high-dmg master/henchman and if you face one of those play more defensive! Beckoners are really nice for the early Brilliance and also to help mobility of the crew! Graves is just bad for the crew! I never take him anymore! Gwyneth is fun to play and can be really strong but I often don't have the ss for her sadly because I will almost always choose Kitty over her! Always bring a way to heal with honeypot! Tanuki, LRM or Sun are all good choices but I really like the versatility Tanuki brings!
