  1. I understand this point of view but for me since the example in the rulebook are puting a big emphasis on only one fireteam (with "only target fireteam" for instance), and the skulkers rules didn't put as much emphasis, I wasn't sure this should be interpreted as "only this one". I agree the rule as intended is very probably to move only 1 fireteam, because it could be too powerful otherwise, but I really think the whole "placing only 1 fireteam or whole squad" is unclear. The thing is, any rule about placing a fireteam will always technically mention just one fireteam (otherwise the rule would mention the unit/squad, like the cult's portals). For instance, the Frenzy's "toss around" trigger : Here again, there is no particular emphasis on placing only one fireteam. But it is talking about the target of the action, so it is talking about 1 fireteam. So should we consider this to be "specifically stating otherwise" or not? If not, then how do we know for sure what language is enough to mean only one fireteam, and what language isn't? If so, if each time a rule is mentioning a fireteam (and not a whole unit), we consider it to be "specifically stating otherwise", then why is there a section in the rulebook saying "When a Fireteam from a Squad is affected by a place effect, every Fireteam in the Squad is placed" ? Why not just have each rule either say place fireteam or place unit/place squad/place all fireteams in the squad. I think it would be clearer if the rulebook's section is removed, and each rule with a place effect clearly states what should be impacted.
  2. You might not get a Gremlin Steve Irwin, but maybe one of the new masters in the Explorator's Society will be someone who wants to discover/study the animals in Malifaux (though it might be somewhat redundant with Marcus)!
  3. If it's supposed to only place that one fireteam then IMO the action really really needs to be rephrased to follow the same wording as in the core rulebook exemples. So something like "Place only this fireteam anywhere on the table" (you don't even need the part about staying in formation since the rulebook states in the "formation" section that a squad must remain in formation at all times)
  4. The rulebook says, in the "place" subsection of movement : The striped skulkers' action says "Place this fireteam anywhere on the table". Since it is not using any specific terms to say "only one", but is using the "basic" wording "place this fireteam", then I think that yes, it allows you to move all the fireteams in their unit. I'm guessing the question might come from the second part of the action's description : "If there are any other fireteams in this unit, the fireteam must sill remain in formation" To me this just means you can't use this placement to break formation.
  5. The mysterious emissary works very well with Titania. Having severe terrain everywhere helps to use several abilities or bonuses on the emissary's card, and adding even severe +hazardous terrain on the board makes underbrush makers even harder to avoid. I don't have much time right now to give more info on all stuff (plus I'm really not that experience in Titania or even the game in general, I only started about a year ago and don't play that often). I may try to talk about my thoughts on other models later though
  6. As far as I know the only difference between the two (aside from how the bow itself looks) should be the cards in the box. So if you plan on printing your own cards anyway, I guess you should be ok. But maybe I'm missing something, I'd wait a bit to see if someone else answers mentions another difference I was not aware of if I were you
  7. That was definitely the thing that interested me the most in Euripides. The need to master all the ice pillar shenanigans in order to be really efficient with them/not end up causing more problems for yourself than the ennemy. The perspective of learning how to master such a master is really appealing to me. About incorporeal, I feel like Euripides' crew may have some interesting tools. There are several tactical actions that can do damage (Euripides' pillar creation and pillar push, Thoon pillar push, the Cyclops' runes) and the damage reduction from incorporeal only works on attack actions. Maybe it's not enough to deal with a big target like the nothing beast though. Another good thing with some actions is that they don't target an enemy model, so it bypasses things like terrifying or serene countenance (looking at you, dreamer 😛 ). For frozen trophy, a crew with some unbury mechanics will indeed make him less interesting. As I said I haven't played the crew yet, so I don't know if Thoon might still be interesting without that or not, but he has some ways to move ennemy models, so maybe that could still be useful.
  8. Thanks! That's a pretty good amount of stories
  9. How much of the book is cards (+ small lore on each model/group of models) vs how much of it is short stories/ more generic lore on the faction/interaction with others? Also, how many pages is the book?
  10. On the Wayland games website (which is in the UK if I'm not mistaken), the first wave of books is shown to be released on friday. I had pre-ordered them there, and when Wyrd announced the releases were pushed to the next month, I received a mail from Wayland games indicating this delay. So far on the 3E pre-orders on that website my orders were treated on the expected day, or maybe the next one. My point is, this site seems to be trustable as far as release dates go (or there would be a notification if there is an issue), so I think it's safe to say the books should be really available at the end of the week. Plus, at least some of the people who ordered books during the GenCon web sales on the Wyrd webstore received them, so that's another indication the books are ready to be shipped.
  11. Here's my Von Schtook's core box assembled! I must say, the skeleton faced (spikey gauntlet wearing) undergraduate, with that face & left hand pose, makes me want to have some kind of trumpet Also, I feels rather good to have a whole crew with both feet standing flat on the ground, or even better with 2 of the undergraduates, having a big flat surface to glue to the base (after having assembled Molly & Titania, standing on their tippy toes)
  12. I just assembled Von Schtook & the research assistant. When I first saw your picture, I was like "wait, he has a cane? Did I miss a part?"
  13. I just got my box and the upgrades are missing as well, so it seems it's quite common. I've sent Wyrd a message as well. At least they are pretty responsive about this kind of issues (even if it can take a while to sent a small part/card all the way to France ) Would be nice if we could get the pdf for the cards, they will become available when the model is officially released anyway, right?
  14. No, auras with the same name do not stack. You can check page 30 of the rulebook, last paragraph in the "aura" section :
  15. I agree that relics is still a good choice for them. Being at full strength is very importantL Plus, when in glory, when they reinforce, the new fireteam(s) can make a action (which enables them to still act even though you've reinforced during their activation). Though I'd say that if you are playing a 2 commander game, having relics on the stormsiren & having her reinforce the Frenzy might be better (you get the action from the reinforcement, and then since the reinforcement was not during the Frenzy's activation, the newly arrived fireteam can still act in their activation)
  16. I love them too. I play gibbering hode, and I feel like the changes are going to be very helpful. I perfectly understand the nerfs to frenzy+relics of malifaux, or the devouring eel. They make sense. I like how they nerfed the immolated rhino. I think it is not going to make it useless, while still making it less OP. So, good balance changes.
  17. With the august errata that just went live, the shark tooth necklace now has : "If within 3" of two other Fireteams in this unit, the Acting Fireteam may also add any one suit to these duels.". Here's my question : when do you choose which suit to add? Can you wait until the flip is done so that you will have 2 suits, and so can do 2 triggers on the melee action?
  18. Maybe it'll be updated in a few days or within a week or two. I'm sure it will be updated eventually though.
  19. Yeah this is basically the issues I have trying to get the new cards.
  20. So, the Frenzy got : ➖No longer able to use the healing magic on the ancient relics of malifaux more than once (but I guess it was to be expected, it was weird to have the frenzy be the greatest support/healer ever) Though now the units brought back into game come with a reinforcement token, so this nerf is mitigated a bit ➕Melee attack got +1 strength, and in glory it has a new trigger on Ram to get piercing Strength 4 is quite nice, and having 3 triggers on the means you'll be able to get one extra effect pretty often ➕Shark tooth necklace : The ability to get a free suit (on top of the previous existing effect of the asset) if the fireteam has 2 other Frenzy fireteam at 3". This one seems very very nice. You'll be able to reliably get the bonus attack on Nipping at their heels (trigger in glory), be able to have 1 or 2 triggers on the melee attack (get a reinforcement token so you can have enough to discard & do the attack again, get the piercing on tough targets) The Frenzy is going to be very scary on the table now I think. You'll really want to kill at least one so they don't get the bonus suit on their actions. What do you all think?
  21. I must have missed something, I don't see where to "properly" download the new cards. I mean, I see the list of modified cards at the end of the Waldo Weekly or the The Other Side page, but when clicking on them here I get the backside opened, so the only way I found to get the front side is doing right click > show image on the cards in the list, but it's a bit small.
  22. Just a few days ago I was talking to a friend about how I was wondering how the Geryon looked like (especially given what the Geryon is in Greek mythology). I was not expected something so ... weirdly formed, but I like it! EDIT : I wonder if they will be released with the Lyssa?
  23. I would also mention the case where you are attacking a model with an ability that gives you a (like manipulative or serene countenance) Having a will counter that and you'll still be allowed to cheat. So in such a case I'd say stat 6 is probably going to be a lot more useful that stat 7, no?
  24. Oh yeah I completly forgot about the Lyssa! Sorry about that and thanks for the reminder
