  1. It's the living only restriction that is the problem I have with the mannequin. Neither the kurgan nor the emissary are living and they are likely my Frontline. The first mate is living but unlikely to be in range for a heal in any event. Even bad juju, who I don't rate overly highly is not living. That's my issue, so the mannequin can heal waldergeist and zoraida and that's about it.
  2. To be honest I would have the hodgepodge a lot more often, the heal is just universally better. The living restriction on mannequin is too much of an issue as that also includes preparations. I appreciate the mysterious is not an often summon it was more a question of whether it can be summoned. The app didn't like it when I had emissary in the crew. Definitely like the voodoo doll still for sure. Shadow has potential to be awesome. Remember the mission can be so strong.
  3. Had my first game with swamp hag. Wedge corrupted against guild Hoffman. Won 7-5. Think she is good but was mostly impressed with the kurgan particularly with the emissary and waldergeist and think that original zoraida will be much better with kurgan too. Seems mostly swamp hag is just sculpting your hand which a bokor can do. Lost knowledge seal fate is definitely good but maybe not a deal breaker. I enjoyed playing swamp hag for sure and she's definitely a little more straightforward. One thing that did come up was summoning the mysterious effigy. It's says you can't hire an effigy if you have the emissary but is there anything to stop you summoning mysterious if you hired the emissary....I can't see why not.
  4. I think first mate is likely the best option. I don't see juju being viable now the kurgan exists. Juju is a so so beater and a poor tank. Whereas the kurgan is a much better tank and can help its own crew whilst having potential to do ok damage. Juju is just a trap I think. Too many stones invested in something that will go down quick and/or use a lot of resources staying up. First mate seems a much better option for beating as he can do three attacks which is what you need from any decent beater surely. Also likely to stay alive longer than juju and can switch to scheming.

  7. And that's without a heal from the two med bots either, with one of them being 3 stones but def 6 and armour 1 because why not. In the game I played recently Howard was on 2 wounds and then back to 9 by the top of the next turn. Very oppressive. I think I'll look towards Marcus or get dreamer out again if I think I'm going to see Hoffman. Can either play round them with Marcus or gum him up with summons with dreamer. A well placed insidious scatter could do a good job in starting to break the ball apart.
  8. Game 1 I'd be tempted by Euripides, just think the denial potential with him is too great to ignore in symbols. Most of the schemes are doable too. Game 2 titania or Marcus, both fairly hard to put down, more so with titania and have access to models that can get the strat done and/or general movement. Game 3 probably titania or dreamer or maybe Marcus depending on matchup. All three can build a fairly tanky crew, for nvb anyway and have the movement to get to the backfield if required. Probably looking at the first three schemes regardless.
  9. Cheers guys, all things I've tried to be honest and it's mostly in a turf war pool with other kill schemes that it's a problem. I think I will try a poison Marcus build next time as they have the ability to play around the Hoffman crew and also cause some issue if they get in to a fight. Also with the right upgrades on the right models they can go towards meeting the attrition.

Played against Hoffman a couple of times, in guild but it doesn't matter overly either way, and I just can't see what neverborn have that get through all that armour 2 and / or out attrition them. Note that I do have dreamer but don't overly like playing him. I think probably the most luck I've had is with titania but I just wondered if anyone had any special sauce for the stompy bots? Considering a Marcus poison list next time too.
  11. Do people have plans nearby for Saturday night? Not sure whether to stay or drive up on both days.
  12. Lack of tech and basically lack of anything but being able to hit things is definitely an issue for neverborn. I hope the new models do fill a gap or two.
  13. Good work. So how viable do you think nvb Marcus is in the grand scheme of things? How do you think you'd do against some of the real heavy hitters, by which I mean the top masters not top players. The more I look at it the more I think he can answer a lot of the questions asked and the speed and flexibility in the right hands is very strong.
  14. Yep, exactly. That's why I'm liking the look of Marcus, there are lots of ways of moving models about and adapting to what is needed.

  16. Been great watching you play some games with nvb Marcus and seeing different lists. Finally got him on the table myself recently. I think he is good and has potential to adapt quickly to the game state which is cool. One thing, have I missed something or can myranda change from beast back to her at start of activation then zero in to another beast?
  17. Still a great scheme runner or scheme runner hunter as well as an early turn taxi. Think it depends on crew, he's definitely not an auto take

  19. Think the hooded can be great. Used it last night and turn three moved to do the nuke, hit three models on pos dmg finished in base of a symbol and picked it up. Situational but also not that much due to 2 inch and base size etc. Agree you need to be careful with them turn 1/2 but they're still a great taxi

  21. Sounds a good game. Do you think crew choice was right? Might a Cerberus helped to go off solo to keep myranda with the crew? Are you going to stick with Marcus for the next round still? Just getting him built and painted to get him on the table so following with interest.

  23. Saw the twitching in your game against Kharnage....wasn't an issue though and was a good game to watch. Camo will make it more difficult for marshal and rider at least but yeah you're going to eat some greatsword regardless I think butterfly jump will help with that a little I guess. Look forward to seeing the game.

  25. Yep like that free movement for sure and emissary is a definite in that map.....or kind of always!
