Haha it’s the same thing really! It just feels like gut wrenching panic at the time - now I just remember it as fun lol

Definitely feeling this. Painted a project in the iron painter spaced two week slot but no urgent requirement to upload it and share excitement with every body. I’m missing the adrenaline buzz!

Iron Painter - Final Results & Prizes

Congratulations to everyone who made it through. Especially @Octavus - a deserving winner even if he did knock me out of gold lol. Delighted to get a silver in a tough last round against @neveroddoreven Who can count himself unlucky. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and encouragement throughout. What a great community! And thanks to @Kai and the excellent team of judges for making it possible.
  6. Me too. Keep checking back every hour or so :-) now I’ve had a rest im really going to miss the iron painter - can’t we keep it going all year? Lol
  7. I’m incredibly flattered to see a few people mention 3 of my pieces in the memorable categories. I’ve seen myself as a bit of an also ran and it is genuinely moving to hear people found my work especially notable. *a little tear in eye* Here are my answers 1. Probably round 2 - Nemo 2. @SevenThirtySeven‘s workshop was awesome and I never thought I’d get past him in round 2. @Whirler‘s rotating piece in round 3 was another highlight and so many of the pieces in round 2 - @icatsai‘s and @Dirtys especially. Also the @Octavus piece that knocked me out in round 4. I could mention loads more but I’ve already gone above the limit. 3. I had been hoping for something undead related as I had a specific model in mind but overall I think the themes were really good. All were challenging and interesting enough that they needed something specific. 4. I’d have loved to spend longer on all of the rounds. Also I wish I’d got to use some wyrd Miniatures. I bought quite a few for ideas for the themes but ended up gravitating towards the bigger models as I felt I could do better with them in the time. 5. My partner and I had our first baby in August and juggling a busy period at work, Christmas and a new born really ramped up the stress levels. It was definitely worth it though and I’m so glad I entered.
  8. Loving the group shots - here is mine!

I really like this - such an unusual but effective way to present the miniature.

    Snow Angel (of Death!)

Thanks sycorax - I am very flattered! Thanks icatsai! Haha I've been itching to do more water since I started playing with resin for round 2! Thanks for the kind words.

You need two pieces of wood!

There is a lot of energy in this scene. The monster coming inside adds a real tension and the frenetic snow coating the walls outside make it feel like a real blizzard. Great work!

    We're not prepere for this

Excellent - the ice giants of Ragnarok are perfect for the theme - I had a similar idea but no models to do and Im glad I didn't as you have done it so well! My money is on the ice giant with the massive rock.

Really clever to contrast the lush exotic jungle with the deluge of snow. Very nicely put together. Glad I don't have to judge between our entries!

    Cuts like a knife

Nicely done. I like the blue tones under the over hang of the rock and the colours of the piece as a hole. Really nice icicles too!
