  1. If you don't own it or have never used it, I swear by Mr. Paint Remover. MR. PAINT REMOVER | Mr.COLOR | PAINT / THINNER / SPRAY | GSI Creos Mr.HOBBY (mr-hobby.com) That stuff is amazing. I got a whole bunch of it and a small mason jar... I call it "The Dip" (call back from Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and I've had to put a few models in it to wholesale start over.
  2. By the skin of my teeth I ended up finishing up my Aeslin last night to go along with The Tooth (or, I guess she is now just a generic "Autumn Knight"). Then I realized that is only 15ss.... one shy of my pledge. Ugh. I have a SS to make up next month I was pleased with the skin tones I managed on these two because I wanted a slight green tinge without it looking gremlin-esque. I think it worked Poor Aeslin's left eye (right from the painter's perspective) got jacked up somehow that I couldn't quite figure out how to fix. I think somehow there was a divot in the plastic that created a kind of weird lip. I decided to leave it be because it was making me stress a bit too much, and I wanted to move on with my life I also wanted to post a pic of my new paint handles, that I got off the recommendation from @Viruk - man, these things are wicked and I love them.

  4. Welcome to the back 9, or the downhill slide... whichever idiom fits your fancy Let's keep plugging along, and hopefully it's not as hot on your end of the world as it is here in Japan... where everyday feels like a sauna If you are new to the challenge and what to know the ins and outs - Everything you need to know for the Challenge is right HERE. For all our regular contributors, make sure you've submitted your SS counts for the previous two months in the Google Form. Remember, @Gheist and I are not going to enter them for you For our Masterclass topic: Pictures - how do you take them? Do you prefer high profile, or low (white background vs. black) What is your camera setup? Any and all details into what you do and what you look for in a good mini pic - Shock & Awe
  5. I honestly preferred yours to the other Misaki - no lie. I really liked the color scheme and the reflection on the weapon.
  6. Well, this "technically" belongs in the May thread - but @Gheist said to put it here... and being my fellow host, I shall obey (because we all know @Gheist is Zoraida in disguise) Here is my Flowers and Showers submission. The pic for the contest sucked... well... I liked it when I took it, but I think it did not really help sell the model. Still in the hunt for my first vote in one of these contests For this month I'm going to be banging on with the Fae keyword. Still got two Autumn Knights, Aeslin, and the snakey snake to go. http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics16/img62a809bbd3ed0.jpg
  7. Thank you to all of the Wyrd staff for putting this together. Another great contest. Congratulations to all the winners as well! So many great entries, it was really great to see all the creativity! The winners though were all well deserved, no doubt! Amazing work. I’ll have to remember to finish my comments faster next time I am really looking forward to the next challenge!

The splash effect is really good and the overall technique it top tier. The blue feels a bit too bright for me, but that’s a personal taste thing.

The effects are very cool, but I feel like I’ve seen this done with 2e Misaki before. Maybe I’m just getting old and senile though

Amazing work. The color gradient is absolutely stunning. The placement and composition are also top notch.

The narrative here is really great and the paint execution is also top tier. As other said as well, you did an amazing job of making it feel like it was actively raining. Stellar work.

This is a technically top tier paint job. I especially like the pinks and the details on all the flowers. All of you work is stellar though, and this is just another solid work that deserved more recognition.

The ambiance here is truly top notch. The whole atmosphere and the story you tell with it is amazing. Excellent work!

This was my favorite from the first time I saw it - so much to see, but all of it adds to the narrative. Such a well thought out concept with so many great elements. Wonderful piece!
