  1. Gift for the hobby? Nah... I'm probably too picky and got enough backlog for anyone to buy me anything relevant, so I generally advice people to NOT buy me anything hobby-related. As for December I think it's fitting to finish this madness, with... *drumroll* ... some insidious madness?!
  2. Misery can be quite complicated so simplifying how it works isn't always that easy. What I get from the OP is a confusion around the "once per activation" clause. To keep it simple, this means once per ANY models activation, not just the model with the rule, and you resolve it immediately (no need to que effects up until the model with the misery rule activates).

Thank you all for the encouraging comments. This is my first dioarama ever, so I felt a bit in over my head (soooo much modelling😱), but I think it turned out fairly in the end. I generally paint for gaming, and use these contests as motivation to "get things done", and that's why i decided to slot in the minis. But I still had to consider lighting and OSL from the streetlamp. I wanted the contrast between the lamp and surroundings to set the atmosphere, but I get the point @Michael Crawford pointed out about it being a bit dark (the highlights are there, I swear!). I will try to take some new photos and will put them up on my instagram account soon. (then maybe the text "Malifaux" on the signpost will be visible as well 😆) I'm actually quite surprised no one else painted up Molly 2 for this. She litterally ooozes undead celebration. Even though I am neverborn to the core, I enjoyed painting her up for this contest. The emotional contrast between an overly enthusiastic Molly and the rather apathetic zombie nephilim was something I really wanted to play on.
  4. Now that the winners have been announced I can reveal that my project for october was this: I didn't win any prizes, but I'm quite happy with it either way. I think it's one of my best works so far, so I certainly feel I am improving as a painter.
  5. Had a small tournament with just 4 people last saturday, and all my games ended after turn 3. 2 of those games was due to my opponent conceding though, but I doubt any of them would go beyond turn 4. Oddly enough I played Pandora as well for all 3 games. (my only completely painted kw) For the record the games were as follows: 1. Pandora 2 vs Von Schill 1 - Close game, but managed to win by 1 VP after turn 3 (4-3). I'm not sure I would have won that one if we'd have more time. 2. Pandora 2 vs Damien 1 - Killed off a few of my opponents models early on and locked up the rest with Candy and summons. My opponent conceded in t3. 4-1 win. 3. Pandora 1 (yes! 1!) vs Yan Lo 2 (green) - Got lucky on this one with some severe damageflips on self loathing against komainu and blasting out a lot of damage. By the end of t3 my opponent didn't have many models left to score anything, so he conceded. We didn't even bother counting up the VP because I had already won all 3 games. I really like Pandora (both of them) and will probably play her more often now that I've got her gang all painted up

If there was an award for funniest entry, you'd have my vote. Might not be the best painting of the group but I love it anyway😉

I don't know if it's intestines or just blood spreading all over, but I love the dynamic posing and the contrast you get between the vibrant gore and more monochrome "dancer". The painting itself is quite good but I think it gets a bit much of the "splash-on-contrast-paint-done-look". Picking out some details and focalpoint highlights would do wonders.

I really like this one. The painting is very good, great vibrancy in the colours and I love the beach theme on the base. I think the presentation probably would be better with a lighter background, as the beach setting feels off with the super black backdrop.

I got to agree with @Brushwarrior here. This is my favourite as well. Excellent work, hands down👏👏👏 I mean that fur... just wow! Only thing that bugs me is that the backdrop isn't quite dark enough (could be paint and/or surface properties), so that the tree casts a shadow.

Great job👏 Love the colouring. I just feel there should be a lit fuse there somewhere...

The paintjob is absolutely stunning 😱 The scene feels a bit static, and I think some more dynamic lighting is all that would be needed to push this into something truly great.

I have to agree here. The idea is sound, and the painting and lighting is good. But as odd as it might seem, I feel it's not crowded enough to create that "mass of people" effect and the focus keeps floating around to all the little details. And there really are a lot of great little details, that shows A LOT of effort has been put into this. I would assume the creator had a lot of fun in the process😁

I completely agree. I can almost hear Ian Travis' interpretation of an overenthusiastic Molly trying (and probably failing) to convince that zombie nephilim how much fun it's going to be😅

I got to say it's the composition here that really makes this great. And by composition I mean the totality of colour selection, focus, lighting and placement together makes it stand out. Now the real question is if Annie is ok?
  15. I feel I get value out of the pig nearly every game. If my opponent goes after it, that's actions not spent against my other models, and I get a corpse and maybe som black blood damage on the opponents crew. If he doesn't go after it, I usually get at least one attack with focus on a relevant model before my opponent realises the error and kills it (and splashes black blood on everyone, and leaves a corpse or two). It's not a Chompy level totem, and it's not supposed to be, but it is far from a bad model.
  16. As if one competition wasn't enough, I'm determined to enter another competition ( http://www.shatteredbrush.com) with deadline nov. 30'th. This is not a secret competition, so I can safely say I'll be painting Titania, the Autumn Queen this month. Black friday: Living in the faraway kingdom of Norway, ordering from Wyrd's webshop is usually not the best way to make great deals due to shipping and customs. However, as some limited models are only availiable this way, we sometimes get some locals together to place one big order. This year there are some stuff I would really like to get. That includes fishy-nephilim, dragon-Iggy, and non-robotic-riotbreakers.
  17. Finished and submitted 😱 With Serena that should be enough for my buyback after last months failure😁
  18. Almost finished with my contribution to the Danse Macabre, so I'm going to make it for sure! Until then, here's Serena finished.
  19. Impossible! 😵 I have like 3 or 4 factions worth of models in my pile of shame... and it keeps growing. So I'll be painting 'til I die, probably never able to claim such an acheivement.
  20. That's genius! I might just have to do something similar when I get to do mine 🤔
