  1. It’s a fairly simple crew - they fly fast and hit hard, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they’re all about the ultra violence. Your key strength is your mobility. You tie down your opposing crew, punching them in the gut with your leader and her Matures, while you send out your lesser minions to do the scheming, while tossing them scraps of meat to grow up strong for when your monsters inevitably dies. Be wary of ressurs. The bastards have a way of eating your resources (corpse markers), turning them into zombies, actions and what-nots. Their abundant Terrifying will also see you struggle from your ‘average’ Wp and drain your hand.
  2. Whuddayamean? Yan Lo is the coolest thunder master out there? He’s got speed - with Yin and Manos and tons of pushes/Obey. He’s tough as heck, when you get in his bubble. And if you pick up a Kabuki Warrior, you can make a Min3 Terrifying 11 model that hands out -flips on Wp.
  3. Yan Lo and Lynch/Huggy can do your bubbly stuff. Misaki and McCabe can handle your need for speed.
  4. This is the passage you’re looking for : So yes, the marker isn’t affected by the ability, Linh Ly’s reach is.
  5. I’ve had a lot of fun with Spiritwalker, Yin, Toshiro and Kabuki Warriors - Granted that is a trick for the Thunders, and is probably not optimal, but still… I find the Ressurs have more fun options for masters, and plenty of mobility. The current Spiritwalker just feels a little convoluted.
  6. I’d say, it makes a very big difference, that you can get into Malifaux for 120-ish€, where GW games require far more. And sure you can solo masters in tournaments, but bringing 3ish crews is still the norm (heck my “not-so-much-Redchapel”-crew would cost €300+ in itself. It also makes a big difference, that jumping faction and trying out something new comes with the same “low” price point. And as a painter/collector, it makes a very big difference that crews/themes are small and contained. You do not “build” and collect an army, you just say… Oooh mecha zombies, I’ll need to paint up the Amalgam and place the order. And then there’s the quality of models. GW has some really nice multi-kits, but all of Malifaux models are character-level in detail. GW wins out on quality in production, but Wyrd wins out in variation; body types, poses, theme. - I enjoy painting up GW centrepieces once in a while, but my money goes to Wyrd. And would I want to do ‘army’ level games again at some point, I’d be looking into something more practical - like Warmaster.
  7. To be fair. Most of Wyrds plastic models are 1st gen. And later models have become much easier – and they’re also going back to more dynamic and interesting posing. That said… putting the Insidious Madnesses together was a true nightmare.
  8. Consider that the shared enforcer is only there to deprive you of any incentive to ‘split’ the box.
  9. You’d imagine that having 70-80 keywords would be enough for a game, especially one that you’d hope retailers would stock. I’d love to see a repacking, giving up all the boxes, and you just buy a keyword box with all the trimmings priced around 100 bucks, and then separate starter packs and versatiles.. You, or I at least, buy the whole shebang anyways, no point in the SKU-bloat. And then give up on the Hi-we’re-just-flipping-you-the-bird-because…co-packs. It just comes off as greed. I’d love for them to re-do all the out-of-scale characters, and most of the M3E sculpts have been less interesting than their M2E counterpart - better made, but less interesting.
  10. Neverborn is probably the faction with the most reliance on in-keyword synergy, but there are some that go together like Woe and Nightmares - and Mature Nephilim can find a place in any list.
  11. She’s a cute gimmick. You’ll see a lot more effect of bringing in Candy. Then again everyone profits from bringing in Candy.
  12. Pick him up and become the most loathed man in your meta.
  13. No, it’s not that 100% of the stuff is overpowered, Lord Cooper and Basse never caused much of a fuss either, but it’s the obvious outliers that are way too efficient and just seem to ignore the design principles of the rest, Spiritwalker, ‘dita, Damian to name a few. And then why have a mock ‘nerf’ round, when you just bring out new stuff with the same problems later. Then you might as well just not bother.
  14. Explorers, Burns, Madness... The pattern is hard to ignore, it seems that Wyrd banks on a pay to win strategy. Which is sad, as it becomes harder and harder to endorse the game, as you set people up for disappointment. It's got the best and most interesting design core of any miniature game out there. A vast and diverse model range – that counter to purpose gets invalidated by the Nexuses, Damians, 'ditas and what else that comes out off the charts. - I, personally, have given up on buying anything new 'faux. And with 20+ crews I'd otherwise be what the game industry would deem a 'whale'. Except I don't do Pay–To–Win, I play to have fun, and if getting a Damian ends up invalidating my Collette or Ironsides, I end up with a third of the fun. M2E ended with Sandeep vs. Nicodem being the only viable masters in the game. There's no point in repeating that scenario.
  15. Don’y worry. Collecting never ends - I’m on my 21st keyword 😉
  16. Good choice. I’m Diving into my Thunders collection at the moment - primarily Honeypot, Wastrel and Ancestors. For Misaki, I’d get the Kharmic Debt first. Minako and her summons is one of the best ‘tricks’ of Last Blossom. For Thunders in general, I’d pick up the samurai box. The Lone Samurai is a very strong shock trooper, while the Samurai minion can control an area like no other.
  17. And you can take it to 24+ given that it has a built-in Pass Through -trigger.
  18. @regleant it really says a lot about a keyword, when you can bring 3 core minions, but the illuminated are just so versatile and having Huggy’s Obey means, you can always react to stuff. I do like OG Lynch over the Dak Bet. Nothing beats thecsatisfacrion of turning a giant teddy into a demonic prostitute or junkie.
  19. I think, I derailed the discussion. I'd leave it to the designers to be creative about fixing Lucid Dreaming – like it was a priority. Besides, with the current direction of the game, and the rise of a need for a BalanceFaux format etc., I wonder if we aren't coming to an end of M3E and we can look forward to a re-worked M4E version soon enough. We might see less of summoners, maybe have Dreamer/Chompy do their old switcharoo like in the days of yore.
  20. So you feel it makes a difference in your games? That’s nice, I don’t. Do you go through your fate deck multiple times in a turn, so you get the effect of a thinned deck? I rarely do so, not with Nightmares.
  21. Yea, it was absolute too strong before – at least until Malifaux got mad – but no one says, it needs to be like it was. You might eliminate the optional choice, so it was less optimised and still reliant on Stitched, or it could be a minion-wide arcane reservoir, it could even be something completely unrelated to card draw but with a crew synergy, like a 6" Stat5 Wp attack to give Distracted+X, or.. or.. or.. anything but "Take cards from shelf A to shelf B, then return cards from shelf B to shelf A, rinse and repeat.".
  22. It’s less a balance issue with Dreamer and more that his entire crew is centered around having a useless mechanic. You’re basically wasting time doing LD for little effect.
  23. I’m less concerned about the overtuned stuff and more about the weak keywords - although VS and Perdita could use a light tickle with a nerf bat. - Dreamer1 hasn’t recovered from his past nerf. The idea that LD now only works to set up Stitched with severes is just… less than satisfying. Seamus1 still couldn’t care less about his Keyword, I’m down to fielding Bete, the rest is out, and although his title makes better use of them, playing a bubble doesn’t feel like Seamus. Somer - where’d he go? It was the best place for Barbecue in the Bayou, and he’s just gone. Make the Bayou Greasy Again! - Of course these new masters with their fancy chain effects is an abomination that should be dealt with, but some of the most iconic masters are not getting fielded, not because they’re bad Per se, but due to their mechanics simply not working.
