  1. Hello all Anyone got a visual guide to the new Toward and Away-rule, as seen in the April 2021 Errata? I suck at english, and rules are hard. I wanna make sure I understood it correctly, and have something to show when it comes up in games.
  2. From what I could tell - Most, if not all of them. The GG2 changes and the summoning nerf has really put a dent into the whole gimmick, but it seems to be for the better of the game. I've personally enjoyed GG2 much more than GG1.
  3. Ugh, that hurts the model quite a bit But thanks for the quick reply!
  4. Saw this in the FAQ: SECTION 3: Terrain 5. If a model removes a Hazardous Terrain Marker in the same Action that it moved through the Marker, does it suffer the effects of the Terrain Marker’s Hazardous trait? a) Yes. The effects of Hazardous Terrain apply to a model after resolving an Action regardless of it the terrain is still in play. Does this mean that the Lucky Emissary gets all the Burning from Pyre Markers, Damage & Injured from Pit Markers and so forth, when the model uses Steamroller?
  5. Not sure healing, at most, 2 at the end of his activation will turn the tide for Wong, though I honestly think Mah will awesome with these guys. Loads of pushes from Mah & TLL to get Stumpy into the action AoE Focus to help them more easily get the above-average damage flips Bunch of displacement-triggers on all models that work well with Pit Traps. Mah is already very mobile with Roosters, and the Bushwhackers has From the shadows, meaning you can get into the action ASAP. Reckless gets even better with the ...AND THE CROWD GOES WILD! aura Similarly, I can see Bo Peep being a solid in the crew. Her damage track is horrible, but she can "easily" bully enemy models into Pit Traps. She also seems to work well with Test Subjects, since she can make them get into the action semi-fast with her The Race Is ON! Still, the SOOEY-tag is unnessesary. Just make her a PIG! 😍
  6. Man, if this had been a Pig-model, I’d be all over it. Obviously taking down the melee range Not so sure now. Maybe also if they’d replaced the Aura with Frenzied Charge? Can’t complain about the Henchman-status though. Don’t know if I personally feel like Ulix needs this model, and another Aura to maintain. Bet she’ll be wicked cool with the other Jockeys!
  7. The Little Lass! Because she can... Or, at the least she helps the crew... I... Well, yeah. Joking aside, I really like totems that help by just being alive. Primordial Magic is a fantastic model, and all it does is stand in the background and give out Incorporeal + Arcane Reservoir.
  8. We seriously need a "Love"-button. Until then, you get my +1 internets, sir!
  9. I’ve got an idea for the one, true master of Malifaux: Ulix! I spend a total of 20 minutes on this and refuse to accept any criticism on this totally balanced work of art! 😂 Lore: The pig master of Malifaux had known much hardship in his many years. Wanting nothing more than to rest in the shade with his beloved hogs, he continuously found himself under attack by the outside forces that seek to harm his family. Driven to the limit of his abilities, Ulix found assistance in the magics of Wong. Seeking forgiveness for the atrocities that are the Swine-Cursed, Wong agrees and prepares the ritual. Wong however, being completely unaware of how such a ritual function, accidentally transforms Ulix into a Pig-Abomination! Changed into a dangerously bloated pig, that hungers for man-flesh, the now true pig master leads his family on a hunt against the beings that once hunted him. Stats & Abillities Core concept: Board Control and Damage. Stats: 4 DEF / 4 WP / 5 MV / 4 SZ / 50 MM Base / 14 HP Added the “Pig” tag Abillities: “Feed Me” – As seen on Botanist. Regeneration +2 Hard to Wound Waddle Waddle: This model may be obeyed by friendly-controlled models. If this model is obeyed, he may only make the Move action. Trample Make Way Actions: Huge Tusks (See War Pig) except stat 5 “He CHONKY”: This model heals 4 “Shove Aside” “Wobbly”: “This model may move up to 5” Hungry Gaze (new): Range 8 / Stat 5 / WP Push this model 6 towards the model. If the target is an enemy model, it gains Adversary (Pig). “OH LAWD HE COMMIN’”: This model may take a against the model, with a Minus to the flip. “Malifaux School of Running Away from Things”: Push target 4 in any direction, then push this model 4 towards the target. Bonus action: Insatiable Hunger The core idea of this Master is to utilize the heavy amount of Obeys in the Keyword, to make Ulix a barely controlled rampaging monster, that will roll across the board to disrupt the enemy. When he then overextends, you utilize the Pig-models and their Truffles to get him back. Position him correctly, and you can get a bunch of “Make Way”-tests out on the enemy! Concept Art:
  10. For me, it seems that Wyrd have tried to dial back the summoners in GG2. We see this in how they've added restrictions to Summon models when it comes to Strats and Schemes, and how they've nerfed many of the summoners. It also feels like they've tried to reset some of the internal faction balance, by nerfing the outliners in each faction. If you feel like that, then I'd recommend simply taking a break from Malifaux. Many asked for these changes, and it might be the direction that Wyrd is taking the game. It might also be a fluke, and maybe they'll revert some of the changes. I personally like many of these changes, but understand why some feel like their favorit toys are ruined. Voicing your opinion and taking your business to a different place is a very valid reaction - But I urge you to instead try to adapt, and see if you cannot overcome these changes. Nerfs happen in all games, and more often than not, there is a reason for it.
  11. Too much of a hit, if you ask me. I saw some of the changes coming, but this much? I guess the crew that wasn’t winning tournaments will continue to not win tournaments. Other than that I really like the errata and changes - Especially the change to focus. The addition of a Summon Token could be a major nerf to Ulix and the Pigs, when playing against Guild. I assume they keep the token when they get replaced? Exorcists look terrifying now 😅
  12. Ol' Mr. Wyrd and his late night quests! I've played quite a few games with Wong, but I'm far from an expert - Please take my opinion with a grain of salt Agreed. He should be the center piece of the crew, but often feels like he is a short-term enabler that becomes horrible in the end-game. I've tried spitballin' a few ideas with my local playground, and we've come up with a few buffs for him: Wong feels like he suffers horribly when he gets engaged (Don't we all, boys? 😁 ... My bad). Havin' to land a Stat 5 with a Tome or Disengage feels horrible. We considered making Fzzzzap (Did I miss a Z?) castable while engaged. This would allow him to continue enabling his crew, while being engaged with the enemy. Or perhaps remove enemy only from Quick Getaway. He'd then be able to slip away from the enemy, but at the cost of friendly fire (and potentially a card). Also his Shockwave-attacks feel so weak. I've nuked Olivia in the middle of 4 enemy models, and the end-result was a few pings of damage. Maybe damage shouldn't be the main goal of the abillity, and we should focus on making his attacks support his crew better? Adding triggers like "Friendly models affected by this attack with gain Regeneration +1 until the end of their next activation" could help. I honestly like Taxidermists. They can put out a lot of damage, summon models on a bonus action and have a good mix of ranged and melee damage. They are glass-cannons, sure, but they seem really good to me. Plus they work wonders with the Pigapult. Also: Yup. I'd hate to see the healing go away, but the easy card-draw is just too good.
  13. I remember when Som'er had +2 Arcane Reservoir, and Bayou Bash didn't have a limit on how high it stacked 🤣
  14. Really cool ideas! Immediately started theorycrafting on ways to break the schemes and strategies, which is a good sign for me Is it confirmed we won’t see a GG2 in the near future btw?
  15. You've gotten your answer several times. The fact that you chose to ignore it, and instead belittle people doesn't mean people aren't replying.
  16. I honestly don't think this branch of the thread is going anywhere good. This is now a personal crusade, and shouldn't be encouraged.
  17. Great intro 😅 You shouldn't make forum posts if you don't want people to reply, mate. That is what blogs are for. I'll have to disagree with you on this part. I don't believe you'll get into that situation every single turn in a game. It seems like a dream scenario. Does it happen during games? Sure, but not that often. You're right on this one, true. But even then, it requires: A fragile model to be in position for the marker A Crier within 12 of the model, in position of the marker Two Bayou Bash-models within 3 of the Crier, at the time of the action A 7 to do the action (not something you always have, no. But yes, people will often save) Far from impossible, but also fair if you ask me. I think we might just have to disagree on this one too, mate. I also believe that Big Hat is a strong crew, with many advantages. However, I also believe that there are multiple disadvantages that can be exploited. Worse = Better, I assume? Either case, I think that is a really good idea. Not sure who "Jamie" is, but I've always felt that more empirical data is a good thing. In the end, we are just two people disagreeing on something that should be rather easy to show. "Is X winning a lot, in competitive situations?" If yes, then how can we balance it?
  18. I believe that Big Hat is a top-contender in Bayou, and a good overall Keyword in Malifaux M3E. But you're clearly skipping a lot of steps in this post. We can start by mentioning that Rami isn't Big Hat keyword. Georgy and Olaf rarely makes more than 3 hits every turn - 6 hits? What perfect world is that happening in? I can see the "Som'er summons 3-bayou gremlins that you blow up and then GaO shoots"-combo, but that often, every turn? Nope. And he isn't shoot 7 for most of those shots (stat 6 if within Lenny, true) Skeeters require a Gremlin Crier to make that action. It'll cost you a 9 to do so. A fair price, if you ask me. My opponents tend to kill skeeters that run in - They're 3 HP models with no defensive abillities other than DF 6. I've seen harder targets to kill. You're clearly living in a world where everything is perfect, and the opponent basically just skips their turns, and allows you to do whatever you want. Don't get me wrong, I also believe that Big Hat is strong, but it isn't "basically a crew made up of 100% pure brokenness". Also This entire comment just shows how biased you are. Discounting every other comment because they don't know what they are doing, and we are basically just cheerleaders for a OP faction? Please. People are giving you several examples of counters, but you're discounting them all because they don't fit your worldview.
  19. My local tournament scene doesn't allow proxies with other Malifaux models, so I'll be stuck with the War Piglets Tried finding an alternative, but nothing seems to fit the theme.
  20. Bettin' on Big Brain Brin becomin' a master. Test subjects are essentially his own personal army, right? So they seem to be moving the plot with him in mind.
  21. Still unpainted, and the light is horrible, but there you go'. And just to supplement this, the box clearly misrepresents the size of the M3E models:
  22. I honestly don't think any of the new War pigs are sized correctly. And they look comical on a 50 mm base. Truth be told, I'd write a complaint directly to Wyrd if I weren't a sucker for things like that. But I look forward to the shock in my opponents face, when they see an overweight piglet come out with a 3/4/6 damage track
  23. The pigs seem to be around 50% smaller than the M2E version. Hell, even the Bayou Gremlins riding them seem to be scaled wrong. Has to be some sort of production-scaling-error, right? Pretty sure the Squealers are the same size as the War pigs
  24. In my games, we always declare Masters at the same time, so I can't change my Master based on his pick. But; This is my tactic aswell. But even then, Dreamer still seems like a hard Master to take down. I've also had luck bringing models such as Gracie, who can speed up another model (and give Focus, if you have the Tome). She also has good Willpower. Often, it feels like I win only when I have a better starting hand than my opponent. Not sure if I'm alone in that, though 😅
  25. They also seem to work well in conjunction - Ophelia can discard an upgrade to deal 1 damage to Sammy, giving the Bayou player a card + Glowy & Fast on Sammy. Neat'o! By the way - Quick rules question. Ophelias trigger "Walking Arsenal" says that she can take an action on an upgrade, but must then discard a card or that upgrade. The upgrade says that you can discard it after use to deal 1 damage within an aura of 6. Does this mean that you can simply discard the upgrade (as per the text on the upgrade) and then ignore the "Either discard a card or that upgrade" clause on her trigger? Or does this mean that you HAVE to discard a card? Hopefully my question makes sense..
