  1. I'm going to assume that masters that appear to have small hiring pools, like Kaeris, will be getting some new keyword models based on this quote from the post that contained the list: "This list includes all of the models from M2E. There will be more models to fill in gaps in M3E, but we’ll cross those bridges when we get there."
  2. Wyrd released this list with the current keywords for each model from M2E that should help a bit in planning purchases. Dual faction models are only listed in one of their factions. Asterisks next to the name mean that a model is Versatile. I broke out all of the models for each Arcanist master in this post. If something similar pops up for other factions, I'll link them in this thread as well.
  3. The was a recent posting by Wyrd with all of the M2E models and the keywords that they would have in M3E. I went through an put together a list for each Arcanist master and the models that they are able to hire based on keywords. I've also put all of the Arcanist models with the Versatile keyword in a list. From what has been released in the articles and other spoilers from Wyrd, a crew's leader is able to hire any model that share a key word with it (regardless of that model's faction) or any Versatile model that belongs to the declared faction for the cost printed on the model's card. Additionally, they are able to hire models from the declared faction for that model's printed cost + 1 soulstone. 4. It's definitely still early but I'm just not sure who's going to buy into the game and get a community started in the area. The one local Malifaux player I know that's kind of interested in ToS is already kind of burnt out on trying to keep a Malifaux community going. I don't see him picking up a game other than Malifaux unless there's already an active community and all he needs to do is show up to get in games.
  5. I don't think the store I play at has sold one copy of any ToS product that they have ordered in the 3 weeks it has been on the shelf.
  6. I don't think Wyrd knew that they were going to change editions when book 5 was released. I thought I had heard that they were pretty far into having book 6 and its models ready to go. It's possible that if Aaron was still around that we would have gotten book 6 instead of a new edition.
  7. Unless he’s got some special rules that aren’t reflected in this list, I think Levi may have lost access to hiring more models than either Neverborn or Guild did.
  8. I don’t think it quite matches up with M2E Mercenaries. It looks like any model in the declared faction can be hired but if the model is not either versatile or sharing a keyword with the crew leader they will cost an additional soul stone to hire. A model that shares a keyword with the leader can be hired for the printed cost regardless of faction. A versatile Outcast model isn’t going to hireable into a Neverborn crew.
  9. What more needs to be accomplished when you’ve got 25 bikes with gatling guns?
  10. You can run 25 Motor Scouts in the same 2 commander army, right?
  11. Having a single program only seems like it would be an issue if Wyrd is expecting that Henchmen actively support both games or limit the number of Henchmen that can operate out of a single store.
  12. Damn, throw in a ton of deadly poisonous animals and that sounds like the sort of place you'd ship people off to as punishment. Even the ridiculously cute animals are poisonous.
  13. I suspect that if you pick up any M3E master and expect them to play like their M2E version did, you'll probably end up very disappointed. The Marcus and Rasputina that we saw at GenGon definitely looked like they would play much different than they did in M2E.
  14. 5 over the course of the game if it's in play the entire game, gotcha.
  15. I don't know about that. He seems like he could be a pretty nasty model to face. If he hits his target with his bonus action it turns off any Df/Wp triggers that they have and any other of his attacks against the target are going to be on flips. His melee attack is at stat 7. I don't think any of the models shown at GenCon had a stat that high. If it uses the built in trigger it's going to be doing 3/3/5 (4/4/6 if he has a second crow in the duel total) he could do a little less damage by declaring either his trigger that lets him attack again or hit with the execute trigger. Damage tracks seemed to be a little lower as well on the leaked models so what works out to be minimum damage 3 on an attack with a 7 stat and flips could be really good when compared against other M3E models. If he's close to his target they'll take 1 point of damage every time they cheat on a flips. Combine that with his tactical action it causes enemy models to take 2 damage if they fail the duel or 1 damage if they cheat to pass it. The combo of Terrifying, Feed On Fear, and Misery means that model near him that attack him will need to pass a Wp duel for each attack. If the fail the duel, he heals 1. If they cheat to pass the duel they take 1 point of damage.
  16. From reading the preview it looks like place effects in M3E are going to work more or less like they do in M2E. Making them count as a move in M3E seems like it would just clean up some rules interactions and allow abilities and rules to affect all movement with place effects being kind of a loophole like they are in M2E.
  17. If the speed stat of models with Flight have been set with that in mind I don't expect that it would be a problem.
  18. That's not Malifaux. That sounds like Futurama.
  19. That's crazy talk. If you look at themes in Malifaux as being linked to either American Westward Expansion or late 19th Century British Imperialism, Asian people and cultures should be a large part of both. Manifest Destiny and Pax Britanica aren't things to be constrained by inter-dimensional boundaries.
  20. I made a post with my thoughts on the subject. I think you should be pretty safe to start playing M2E as long as you keep some things in mind when making purchasing decisions.
  21. I usually use the lip on the base to keep it clean but since I built the base up it was higher than the lip since I I had nothing to constrain it. I prime in black and drybrush in bone before I paint and that's where these models are now. I know the super pro-technique is zenithal priming but I find that the dry brushing makes it easier for me to pick out the details and I don't paint well enough to be bothered with trying to paint a consistent and realistic lighting source. It's funny that you mentioned that you liked them, I was excited to try them out so took them to my FLGS last night and someone in our Malifaux group mentioned that he like the paint job. I might be misquoting him but he said they looked like "some sort of creepy toy someone uncovered in an old attic". It almost makes me want to do an entire Collidi (or maybe Dreamer) crew that looks like this. Most of my Colette crew isn't finished. They are taking me forever to paint. I'm not used to doing brighter colors that I don't want to look grimy. I still need to finish the highlights and picking out some of the details on these models, but I was planning on doing the Coryphee to fit in with these. I was thinking maybe a vibrant blue on one and green on the other. Cassandra's in red, Colette is in purple, and Angelica is in red with a purple boa. After hearing the same thing from you and a player in my local group., I'm tempted to just leave the Coryphee as they are. Maybe try to give their claws a bit of a metallic gleam. I might try priming something white and dry brushing with black to see if it gives a similar effect. Have one light Coryphee and one dark.
  22. One of the people I play prequently has been delivering Wrastlers via Iron Skeeter lately. It seems like a pretty effective (and fun) combo. He also uses Merris as a scheme runner a lot. You could probably build a decent crew with Zipps box, Merris, and some Wrastlers. That looks like it's coming in around at $72 at Miniature Market, so it's just a bit over your budget. Zipp, Earl, The First Mate, Merris, and a pair of Iron Skeeters and a pair of Wrastler's comes in a 40SS before adding in any upgrades.
  23. Something to file in the "Common sense isn't common" file: When putting magnets under the base that I use for my case, the magnets really, really, wanted to go directly underneath the magnets that were used to attach the Coryphee. I had to cut away the plastic underneath the base to place the magnet. I did notice that the hold on the model seems to be stronger with the larger magnet lined up underneath.
