  1. not a ten thunders player here, but it seems to me that you would like to go in diverse directions at once, which is probably not the best idea if you are a new player. every master you mentioned works optimally with slightly different set of models. commenting on what you already have: Izamu the Turtle is slow but tanky beater. He does not fit particularly well any of the masters you already have, although he is one of the core models in many Yan Lo's crews. Katanaka Sniper is always good, although Lynch likes Samurai (the other TT shooter) more. Ohaguro Bettari is very good, you can use her in any crew. As for Asami, she is a summoner, so to play her effectively you will have to buy models she can summon, like Obsidian Oni (which are often seen with Mei Feng from railworkers crew box) or Jorogumo. As for boxes you are interested in: you can pick Yan Lo, because you already have the turtle, but you cannot use Ikiryo with him: Ikiryo can be summoned only by Kirai, a master from Vengefull Spirits box. Having said that, I would not recommend you buying that box, unless you want to start playing ressurectionists. As for Mei Feng, beside Komainu (metal lions) she likes models like Obsidian Oni (summonable by Asami) or Mechanized Porkchop (Gremlin faction model). My advice on expanding your collection: - Ten Thunder Brothers: cheap and reliable scheme runner, works well in any crew and has some synergy with Lynch. - Shadow Emissary: indispensable for TT players, works well with any master. - if you want to play Lynch, Mr Graves is very handy, because of his (0) action that lets him push another model and then push himself into base contact with it. that way he can push Lynch, who has no mobility tricks of his own, into position and simultaneously increase your own mobility. Then play some games and rethink the directions you would like to expand your collection further. Have fun!
  2. In my opinion built into their attack makes punk zombies better in 90% situations. realistically, you cannot expect that after spending high card on summoning you will still have high card to guarantee hitting. not to mention that they are hard to kill.
  3. As a regular Molly player I must admit that I rarely summon anything beside punk zombies, crooligans (to guarantee whispered secret debuff), doxies and her totem (killjoy delivery aside, focused attack against enemy glass canon can be devastating if you have severe in your hand). as for a drowned, it's good to have one with you, just in case.
  4. (0) Welcome to Malifaux! I'm glad you enjoy the game. Here are the answers: Correct. Indeed. Unless Interact Action targets an enemy model you can't take it while engaged. There is no limit, unless it's specifically stated in action's description. You can spend all your AP on a single action if you want. You add a printed suit to your duel total. So Lady J has def 5 and ram + the value and the suit of the flipped card. Your math is correct. Some abilities and actions can remove in-build suits from other models – in that case her trigger would fail. You can declare only one trigger per action. Btw.: Baby Kade is an enforcer, so he can't spend soulstones; if you want to spend it to add a suit, you have to do it before an attack flip, not after. „The model with the lower duel total must choose whether or not to Cheat Fate first. If the models’ duel totals are tied then the Defender must choose whether or not to Cheat Fate first.” Please note that if you flip higher card than your opponent but did not meet TN requirement, the model with the lower duel total still must choose whether to cheat first. You can cheat only once per flip (not: per duel; you can cheat both your attack and damage flip, but you can't cheat twice any of them). Anyone can cheat fate. Only master and henchman can use soulstones. As previously stated, only master and henchman can use soulstones. They can use them for prevention flip, to add a suit, to add a positive twist to simple or opposed duel, as defenders to add both a possitive twist to their defensive flip and negative twist to their opponents damage flip (good against focused attacks with high severe damage). Yes, only one. That's why they're called limited upgrades. Rare 1 means that you can have only one upgrade with that name in your crew. If there is a Rare 3 upgrade, three different models in your crew can have it. Master can have up to 3 upgrades, Henchman up to 2, Eforcer – 1 upgrade. Normally only Masters, Henchmen and Enforcers can have upgrades. Usually that second thing. Nope. But the avatars' models can be used as proxy of Emissaries. It's rounded up.
  5. My local McCabe player often uses one Torakage: he puts Glowing Sabre on him and kill things.
  6. it's in the handbook. A Marker’s default size is a 30mm base, unless otherwise noted in the Marker’s description. All Markers have the following common rules: •Markers do not count as terrain and have no Ht unless otherwise noted. etc.
  7. You desperately need dead doxies and a nurse. For me, one doxy is a staple in almost any crew, and Seamus can summon them with a discount (as if they were 5 ss models) Carrion Emissary is never a bad choice, but then, as Teddy Bear already stated, you will also need a box of mindless zombies (although you can play Emissary without them, they're by no means indispensable for Seamus, albeit usefull). If you want to expand into spirit branch, Datsue-Ba works pretty well with Seamus, but then you will have to buy Gakis and Onryos, which come in Kirai's box...so that's probably not the best idea if you don't have a tons of money to spend on minis.
  8. to clarify that sentence: you can't have both repeated crossbow trigger and bonus damage. so it's rather 4 attacks with mediocre minimum damage or two with good if there are corpses.
  9. Under which circumstances do you use him, what role do you assign to him on the battlefield, how do you rate him among our other henchmen?
  10. yeah, forgot about that little bastard. I have seen it so often with Levi that I started to believe it's an outcast. ;-)
  11. Howard Langston/Miss Step is the reason you play Pariah of Iron. Or at least that's my guess after many games against Iron Levis.
  12. We had a fixed list tournament recently in my playgroup. It was a tournament mainly for newer and less experienced players, who usually have very limited model pools. Veterans were allowed to take part provided they will play something they are not accustomed with. I think everyone enjoyed it. Having said that, the idea of fixed crew tournament without other restrictions like those we had does not seem very appealing to me. I agree with others that it will compel people to play the "on average strongest" list, leaving specialized models at home.
  13. As Ludvig said, your friend could fight fire with fire and bring katanaka sniper(s) to the game. I guess Perdita player used Watcher to extend his LoS – killing it with sniper would surely help. Mei Feng is probably the hardest counter, but then your friend will have to buy another set of models for her (like mechanized porkchop, obsidian oni and so on). If I were your friend, I would focus on mastering Shenlong.
  14. to put it simply: remember to read the cards! ;-)
  15. We've lost one draugr (the best looking one, unfortunately), but got another goryo - there is only one on the picture above. I'm still not convinced I will buy them though. Crow requirement on their (0) makes it too situational. I can't imagine many situations when I would summon them over punk zombies playing Molly, or hire playing Reva. I would rather spend that money to expand my outcast collection.
  16. It is an upgrade with soulbound restriction, from Reva's box. It gives you a soulstone when model dies.
  17. Oh, that's clever. Apparently I have overlooked the potential of their Ht1 form.
  18. Draugar (plural form of draugr) are going to be released in July. Does anyone has any experience with them? How do they perform? What are they good at?
  19. My local top-vicks player tends to use both Performer (Arcanist Minion) and Emissary as his scheme runners. I know Emissary is not a minion, but if OP's main concern is scheme running, he should consider also this option. @Rachet I don't think you need that many 10ss beaters if you already have Victorias, so you could maybe swap one of them for Emissary. Both Performer and Emissary can push other models, further increasing your mobility.
  20. which means "the group is going to play malifaux for the very first time next week". :-P
  21. First of all: what other models do you have? Anyway, instead of gunslinger or punk zombie you can take some upgrades on seamus (red chapels killer is a stample for every player I know) and a necropunk maybe? He's often guaranteed 3 VP from claim jump/leave your mark. What about copycat killer? In low model-count games he sometimes can work against you, because he is an insignificant peon, but on the other hand he deals obscene amount of damage and can take down your opponents low df enforcers with ease.
